They sell a pretty decent burger at a slightly inflated price. Not to sound like cheapskate, but $ 11 is a tad bit much for a hamburger, especially for the calibur of burger they’re serving here. Granted, it was a 1⁄3 lb burger with pastrami and bacon, I still feel like it was a little over priced, especially when I paid over 15 bucks after adding fries and a coke. The burger itself was good. The flavor of the seasoned beef managed to get it’s voice get heard amongst the screaming of the pastrami and the singing of the bacon. Overall, a little dry, but an ok harmony nevertheless. The fries were of the thick, steak cut variety and were ok at best. Nothing special in my opinion. I didn’t finish them and I would have had they been good enough. I’ve demolished plenty of 1⁄3 lb burgers while still finding room to make the fries dissapear. Service was outstanding in terms of friendliness. The person at the register was extremely polite. I arrived during the lunch hour on a weekday and the place was quite busy. Nearly every table was full so I had to wait a while for my food. Parking was bad at this time of the day but I did find a spot not too far away without hassles. I like this place and there’s a chance I might return but there’s a better chance I won’t. There’s some good burgers to be found in Fresno and while I was hoping this place would steal my heart, it just didn’t happen.

Only one item was«good» that item was the fries. The burger itself was really undercooked, I myself didn’t finish it in fear of getting sick. A little pink is okay, a lot is not. Another customer also had an issue, I overheard her as I was leaving. Pricing is a little too much $ 10.40 for the meal. Next time I am craving a burger I will just head over too Dog House! Date of visit 1÷26÷16. Off to a bad start bulldog burger bistro.

The burgers are good. Over the past few months, they’ve fired all the servers and changed the portion size on some items. It is now, Red Robin prices with smaller portions and McDonald’s service. I’ll eat there again, but it won’t be my first choice.

We tried it, sat there and looked at our order with major disappointment when it came out. Deep fried pickles — soaked in oil, soggy and sodium Pastrami Burger– soggy bun, extra greasy mess Fries doggy style — chucky sauce and soggy fries No thanks! Love to support local businesses, but this is a hard one… should have walked out when I seen they cooked rubbed down his face with his bare hands and continued cooking…

I love the bulldog burger and their fries are SO good.(But the sauce is a little too heavy). And the space in the restaurant is pretty tight. Tables are very close together.

A friend and I came in for a quick lunch and we weren’t disappointed! I just ordered the classic burger and it was fantastic! I haven’t had a burger that tasty in quite some time! Beer selection was good but limited. However, they had great pricing in comparison to other places that offer beer during lunch. Check it out!

Definitely a great place to grab a burger. Although I felt my burger could use a bit more flavor, maybe some salt or a bit more condiments, the patty was juicy! Had the Doggy Style fries and they’re great! Maybe a little over done on the sauce but that’s all personal preference. Some like a little sauce and others like it smothered. Down fall I’d assume is the restaurant size. Other than that, customer service was great and enjoyed my food.

This place is so amazing! My bulldog burger was incredible! The only person to make them better is my son… Bacon Pastrami Cheeseburger? what? what? is that legal? Im going to gain 20 pounds because I have been back every week since they opened! LOVE the staff. always friendly. Love the kids pics hanging up. That is so sweet and adorable. The kids seem to really love their art work being placed so lovingly for all to see. haha love the sauce on the fries also! Onion straws with jalapeño dip are my fave plus the bulldog burger! Best burger in town!

Last night, Friday, was my first time in to this restaurant. My husband drives by it all the time and has heard great things so we sought out the Bulldog Burger Bistro. We seem to have arrived just in time to get a great seat, but it definitely got to be standing room only by the time we left. I love a good burger, and this is exactly the kind of place I would direct people to for a great burger. For me, it’s all about the meat flavor and this was probably the best one I have had in Fresno. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. My lack of 5 stars only has to do with the shoestring fries which get cold the minute you finish the first fry(this is anywhere they serve these thin fries that can’t hold heat, just don’t like them, it’s a personal preference). I will definitely be going back when I am craving a burger, will try the other sides next time, I saw the huge onion rings as we were walking out, and they looked delicious. I agree with another poster, it may be time for a bigger space. Keep it up!

Just stopped in after not visiting for several months, as I live out of town. I was first disappointed to see that you no longer have servers, which has left the cleanliness of your restaurant in disarray. Furthermore, the high quality food that you used to serve is no longer being served. To my surprise, the fries are no longer freshly prepared and are now frozen. The quality of chicken is also not what it used to be. My order was not prepared correctly(I asked for cheddar… did not get any cheese, l went back to the counter, asked for cheddar… they have me pepper jack). When I brought this to the attention of the cashier, he told me if I was not satisfied I could write a review on Unilocal, and did not offer to fix my sandwich. From being one of my favorite restaurants that I have praised highly to friends and family, I am very saddened and disappointed in my experience today.

Went here with my boyfriend, he got the bulldog burger, half and half and I just got an order of the jalapeño popper fries that everyone had been raving about and drinks. They weren’t absolutely horrible, but I’d probably never get them again. They were just whatever. The sauce should’ve been hotter when served and maybe it would’ve helped? My bf enjoyed his burger however. These guys are direct competitors of Doghouse, but I wouldn’t even really consider them competitors if I were Doghouse. Parking sucks at Bulldog Bistro’s location as well. Service was great though so I may give them another shot.

I’ve been here now a few times and I can say the food is damn good. The issue, as others have stated, is with the price. The last time I went with a friend, the price for our combined burgers and shared basket of half-sies fries and onion rings was $ 30 bucks before drinks– which is too damn high for burgers at lunch that are supposed to cater to the college-aged crowd. I didn’t anticipate prices being so high, so I had my friend who I’ll just refer to as «Shitshow» buy our alcoholic drinks, which actually were a bargain at $ 2 for any draft, but that deal unfortunately ended in December. I’ve had the tri-tip salad, which I felt was«ok» but not surprisingly, the burgers are what you’re going to be interested in at this place. I got the full-sized Bulldog burger, she got the Baby-sized one, which honestly would have been enough food but I’ll be damned if I’ll ever order anything with a name insinuating I’m a fucking baby. I’ll eat that double cheeseburger with bacon and pastrami and a slice of freedom cuz ‘merca, godammit. That was actually the reason she chose this place in particular– she needed to fill up on good ‘ol ‘mercan junk food before she headed off to Mexico(aka the magical land of tacos) for a while. Overall, it’s a good-tasting burger. It’s stacked so high it’s hard to get a full bite in which you get both the top bun and bottom bun at the same time. I don’t think it quite eclipses Colorado Grill, House of Juju, or Fat Jack’s burgers, but it’s waaay out of Dog House’s league. I sincerely hope you haven’t been going to Dog House for burgers this whole time, LOL. What I now regret doing is not taking pictures of the menu, because prices have gone up since the last menu pics were taken. That $ 4 fry and onion ring halfsies thing is now I think $ 6 something, and I want to say the full-size Bulldog Burger is now $ 12, with the baby being around $ 10… Don’t quote me on that, but the prices HAVE gone up since the pictures I’m looking at on Unilocal in September are indicating, which is… alarming. The previous prices weren’t exactly cheap considering these burgers are all a la carte, but now they’re downright pricey. As mentioned in others’ reviews, the fries here are shoestring, which is unfortunate. It is a proven fact that steak fries are the bestest evar because of their perfect dippability. Seriously, it even says in the Bible and the Quran that you’re a bad person if you prefer shoestring fries, but Jesus and Allah love you anyways. This place goes up to a 4 if the prices were more in line with the food, and I really am curious about the sudden price-hike. I mean, House of Juju is also a little on the pricey side but they do have that fancy, gourmet ingredient crap angle working for them. I don’t really see what the reasoning here is– it’s certainly not the ambiance as the place is pretty cramped, and it kinda sucks that you can’t enjoy your beer out on the patio… Again, looking at the old menu prices, the plain cheeseburger was $ 5.99 less than 3 months ago, and I do distinctly remember that being $ 7.99 just a few days ago. I mean, $ 8 at Red Robin buys you the burger AND bottomless fries at that price. I like the place and wish it well, but I don’t honestly see myself back unless they get back down to reality a little more on what a burger should cost. Going back to their old prices or at least giving you a combo with the new, inflated prices would be a great fix.

Finally made it in. Was excited because I had heard good things. 1. The smell of the next door nail salon was so strong that my son & I both had a headache before our food was ready. 2. Service was very good. Friendly, knowledgeable and quick. 3. I had the Chicago Dog. It was OK. Son had Bacon blue burger, it was decent. Husband had Jojo’s BBQ. He couldn’t finish because there were too many jalapeños. It was so hot he was sweating for 15 minutes. Note: he LOVES spicy food so not usually bothered by it. 4. Ordered 1 side of fries &1 order of onion rings. Asked cashier if that would be enough for us to share. He assured us it was a lot. It wasn’t. Don’t think we’ll make it a point to go back.

I haven’t been in for a few months and decided to bring by some good friends of mine as they had never been and I was craving some fried pickles. I have to say I was completely dissapointed. As you may have read in my previous review of this establishment it was easily a new favorite place of mine to eat but if you are a regular as I am you will have noticed some changes. First of all they increased their prices and lowered their portion sizes. I used to frequent the bulldog Burger which used to be $ 8.99 for a normal and very well portioned Burger with all of the available meats. Well I was given the option of a mini or a regular sized this time around. I chose the mini… over $ 9 for a Burger that was smaller… when months ago I ordered the same Burger bigger in size for $ 8.99. Why? Same with the fried pickles. They used to be so unique and big and portion sizes were a great heaping pile. The way they were cut and cooked(see previous photos) we’re unique to this establishment and I loved that about them… now we get the small circle fried pickles, horribly small portions… my friend got a side of fries which used to be a heaping basket full which was now a literal hand full sharing a basket on the side of her hamburger… again, COMPLETELYDISSAPOINTED I am a petite girl and left this establishment after my $ 15 meal still hungry. Why after spending $ 15 for a full meal should I still be hungry, at a fast food joint at that? I think this business has lost sight of the fact that they are a local business. I 100% support my local businesses as they are usually here to support and serve our community. Bulldog Burger doesn’t seem to do this anymore. You are not a corporation like McDonald’s driven purely off profit disregarding the public’s benefit for your own. You are a local business and here you are taking advantage of the locals. Granted you’re next to a college, and that makes you in a high traffic area but the 10% discount for students is not enough if an incentive for them to frequent your establishment when they can get more food for their money elsewhere. I have no problem paying a pretty penny for a meal… but only when I’m getting my moneys worth and I am no longer getting that here. I feel this establishment has lost sight on what it truly means to be a local business. Especially part of the Bulldog community. Back when you first opened, you were about pleasing the people, and now you’re about having the people appease you. It doesn’t work that way, you’re food service you provide a service to us our business is what keeps you running. Regulars like myself, you know the ones whos food pictures youve screenshot off of Unilocal and instagram and used on your new menus like multiples of mine, are what keep you running and bring you new business. My suggestion, reevaluate the meaning of what being a local business means to you, and I just might bring my business back.

If I’m craving a burger, I have given up on calories, I simply want the meal to be well worth all of the fat grams and cellulite I will be getting from the burger… and this place delivers! Now, I know, that may not sound awesome, but it is! You don’t want a whimpy bun loaded with veggies(which I do love veggies, just not overpowering on my burger). When you’re craving a burger you want a juicy burger that is big, salty and delicious! I had a groupon for this place, but its very reasonable priced without the groupon! The hallway to the bathrooms showcase the artwork of the children that eat here. During our visit, we actually didn’t have our kiddos, but there was a little cutie boy sitting near us. The little boy handed the server his paper, the server smiled, thanked him for the picture, and immediately hung up his coloring sheet. The boy walked away with a HUGE grin on his face and looked very proud of his artwork and his contribution to the décor of the restaurant. It was such a cute moment, the server didn’t even realize that I was watching, he just seemed very natural with this routine. So sweet. Oh, and they have clean bathrooms and their doggy style fries are amazing!!! Amazing and fatty.

There are very few places that know me by name, and this is definitely one of them. I get the shroomy Swiss doggy style, and a basket of fries with popper sauce :) always hits the spot. They recently started serving alcohol like their hard root beer, which is amazing. Also have several beers on tap, all 2.50 throughout September! Staff is always very friendly and attentive, even when they are busy. It can get a bit crowded but thats because it’s so great!

I’ve been here twice now and have been absolutely impressed with their service both times. The first time I went was probably around 2 or 3 pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all so that was nice. I ordered the Black n Bleu burger which was deeeeelicious. I love the buns. Then of course I had to try the fries doggy-style which were also amazing. This time around — last night — a friend and I saw that they had $ 2.50 beers so of course we were down. We ended up going there around 6 on a Friday… not the best idea apparently. Trying to find parking was almost worse than trying to find parking at Doghouse. however, I know that isn’t this place’s fault — there’s a bunch of other businesses in the same parking lot. We were seated right away, but it was pretty crowded in there. They should definitely look at getting a bigger place somewhere. We ended up being slightly disappointed because I guess they were out of 805(which wasn’t heartbreaking, but I was looking forward to it) and then they only had cold Bud Light and Stella… everything else wasn’t cold yet? Idk it was a little odd. Either way, got a couple Stellas, I got the Chicken Cobb Salad which was tasty and huge, my friend got the Chicken Caesar, and we both shared doggy-style fries which seemed to be a much bigger serving than the last time I went. I was pleasantly surprised. All for $ 26. Was a great deal to me :) Will be back!
