Peeve’s is the default place to be if you’re downtown. Good food. Great beer. Caring people. Lots of events. Fun environment. The food may be a bit pricey, but it’s always made with quality ingredients. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to hang out with a friend and don’t just want to grab a coffee in a quiet café.

My mashed potatoes were cold, I felt like it was overpriced for the quality. My friends burger wasn’t very good as well, and they didn’t ask how he wanted it cooked. All the food seemed to have a crazy amount of black pepper. I’m not sure if this is a one time incident but I’m not very impressed and not sure if I’ll come back. The atmosphere is pretty cool though if you just want a beer from their wide variety.

The best hummus I’ve ever had! Great restaurant with a great focus on revitalizing downtown Fresno!

Great example of Fresno revitalization. Owner Craig Scharton has brought his dream to life with this great DT bar and restaurant. Serving local favorites and fresh cuisine it’s our go to place for a chill night out

When I visited yesterday, I was expecting a place that had a hipster or dive bar vibe. The dive bar vibe exists and my visit was on a Friday around 6 pm and had a full line to the door! Of course I was stoked, I set my expectations too high for food quality and customer service. I had an appetizer while I awaited my date, which is the garlic roasted hummus with fried pita chips! :) My entrée is a grilled cheese excellent tasting and I did not expect bacon inside it! It definitely was way too greasy on the outside and I waited 30+ minutes for it. I will try again another night if it doesn’t go out of business by then! Sorry this is honestly what I feel my experience was like and am not satisfied with customer service for a non-chain local restaurant.

Went for lunch to support Peeves. Nice staff. Worst lunch I’ve ever had! Burnt, crispy, & greasy. We sat for an hour & they brought somebody else’s order to us. Waited 1 ½ hours to get our order! Now I see why they’re possibly going out of business. Too bad.

Their«Daily Planet» pot roast was like eating slop… vegetables were absolute mush! There is a reason for your lack of customers… not only did u put a restaurant where nobody wants to go, you completely missed your demographic… and on top of all that, you serve food like this? Come on man !

Delicious food, reasonable price! But food took way to long to get to us after ordering, other than that free refills for tea, and the staff is nice!

A hidden gem. I walked in for lunch and low and behold a UEFA soccer game on with the place packed and electric: beautiful. That was indicator no. 1 it was going to be a good afternoon. Second, the burger and beer was insane delicious. The small menu pigeon holes you into a quick decision, but every decision is the right one. Great place and I’ll be back.

Overblown reputation. The beer selection is hit or miss, occasionally they will get something great, while the majority of the time it just seems to be «meh». While the daily rotating menu seems like a great idea, every time I have gone the food has been pretty lackluster. Either the options just don’t seem that inspired or the food is not seasoned/spiced well. Its a shame because not many places are doing the daily rotating menu, but if this is what we get as a result I would rather stick to the same menu every day. Potential to be better and help revitalize the Fulton Mall, but so far I am just not seeing it.

After being away from Fresno for a while I’ve seen a lot of changes. And Fulton Mall is one of them. We visited Peeve’s on a Saturday night and there was a big crowd outside and a really, really good band playing to the crowd. Inside the place was bustling. We had a big salad, a pizza, and guacamole and chips. The food was simply great. And I thought about how nice it was to know that the tomatoes were not shipped from thousands of miles away. Craig is the owner and he told us he grows much of the food that’s served at Peeve’s. This is a very dog friendly place and that alone is worth 5 stars. In days past I wouldn’t think of walking Fulton Mall. But we did after our dinner and it was not anything like River Park, Sacramento’s K street, San Jose’s Santana Row or Denver’s 16th street mall. Peeve’s and Fulton Mall are uniquely Fresno and Fulton Mall is a pretty cool place nowadays. I’ll be back to Peeve’s for sure.

Very cool place. I LOVE our downtown. I would choose to go hang here over Tower any day! Downtown restaurants and bars always have a friendly and relaxing vibe to them. Not pompous or douchy, just chill. This bar has a wide variety of craft beer. It’s pretty small, but they do a good job of packing the area with plenty of seating. Their front patio area is perfect seating to enjoy lunch(or a beer) and people watch during the weekday.

I was actually visiting the area to eat at Parsely Café, but oddly they were closed. So I went to the place next door. I felt like just because I didn’t fit the«hipster» aesthetic I was treated differently. The man that was in there at around lunch time today was rude and snobbish. No hello or welcome, or anything to make me feel comfortable in the place. And when I ordered I received some pretty bad attitude and pissed me and the other patron off. The grilled-cheese sandwich was good as well as the chips. The customer service was very disappointing and probably won’t return for quite some time if at all. It’s kind of a shame because the owner is a really nice guy.

I WANT to like this place. I really do. I have tried three times since it has opened, and each time has been… well…a disappointment. The sad fact is that I live in the neighborhood, and its pretty lame that I can’t even enjoy something in my own ‘hood. I first came with a friend from San Francisco. She came down to visit me, and she read about it on Unilocal and wanted to check it out. I told her«Hey, I live a few blocks away, and I want to go to!» So we walked to The Fulton Mall and entered. Two, maybe three people there. Bartender was talking to a girl. No acknowledgement of a «hello» or «eye contact» We stood for a minute or two then sat down. Waited. Waited. Waited. No one took our order. No one asked if we «needed a menu» or welcomed us, or asked us if we had been here before. After ten minutes. We got up and left. She was pretty upset telling me that«hipsters» ruin everything and mentioned that sadly Fresno was infected just as bad as SF. At the time I found this ironically funny. About two months later I was walking past while taking a Fulton Mall stroll. Again, I went in to give it a shot. The same thing. Not too crowded. Ignored. WTF??? I am not expecting red carpet or even a hello, but if a customer walks in and you seem to put the vibe that only«your friends» or «your kind» deserve a hello or service perhaps you should consider working at «Denny’s» The most recent visit was about a month ago. I was walking past on my way home from a Grizzlies game. Chain smoking crowd in front of the place. Busy, but it just looked welcoming… and it was so cool to see some nightlife… very shoegazey crowd… on The Fulton Mall. I went in. Waited to order. Was told they were not taking any more orders tonight. Just drinks. Rather curtly too. I don’t drink. ARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!! I want to like this place. I really do. Come on Peeves, not just ‘hipsters’ live down here. Make people just feel welcome. Customer service 101. Downtown wasn’t invented by six year community college students. Talk to the folks!

Never heard of this place until a friend recommended it, it was nice to sit outside in downtown Fresno and enjoy a nice drink while hanging out with friends, I don’t remember the name of the drink I had but it was pretty good, the business was setting up for live music but I didn’t get a chance to stay for it I had some stuff to take care of so I left. I didnt order any food but my friend said the food they serve is good and it changes daily which I think is cool, so I will definitely be back to enjoy another brew and hopefully some good music and good food

The food here is simple and delicious. The chopped Italian salad was the best salad I have ever had in any restaurant. How can a salad taste so good! It’s ridiculous. I did have garlic breath for at least any hour after so bring your mints. The boys ordered a cheese pizzetta. I was afraid they would not like it but… to my surprise they loved it. The dough is house made. You can taste the yeast. I know it’s odd but oddly yummy. This pizza is thin and slightly crisp. Now the location is sketchy and the outside smells like cigarettes. The crowd that you encounter loitering in the front is typical of the area. But the people inside are not what you would expect. The customer service here is excellent. They are extremely friendly. The kids were treated well. What else could I have asked for.

Someone once said this place is: «the hummingbird feeder of the hipster animal kingdom» — not so sure what that means exactly, but I can tell you there ain’t no local place like this one. Once you walk into Peeve’s you are in for a treat. Everything here(except a few beer labels) is local. From all the food they use at the kitchen, to the art on the walls or the wood used to make the benches and tables, you will certainly have a little taste of Fresno and Cali in one place. I was ridding solo that day so upon arrival I sat by the bar. Warmly greeted by Jake I was able to try a great variety of beers, from IPA to a Cucumber Pilsner, which I suggest to be served with thin slices of Cucumber. Did not have the chance to try the food but saw a few plates of nachos come and disappear within 2 minutes, wish I could have ordered some… You can come here for happy hour, lunch, dinner or breakfast. So there is no excuse to miss it. Most likely I was the only foreigner sitting at the bar, but I sure felt like a local for a few hours.

This hipster joint knows how to cook! The Cubano was so flavorful and juicy and paired with orzo pasta was delicious. Their burger was so juicy and cooked perfectly. The fried mac n cheese inside the burger made all the difference. I didn’t care for the potato chips at first but we also ordered chicken pozole and dipping them In there really made everything taste great. The pozole was a special and was realllly good. It had chunks of dark chicken and the consistency was hardy and perfect for an appetizer. I recommend trying it if you get a chance. The other cool thing about this place is the board games available to play.

Great bar with great local food. I try and make it to Peeve’s regularly because there is always something new on the menu. It’s a great spot for dinner and a cider after work … and a great spot to get up really early in the morning for breakfast, coffee, and watch the Arsenal soccer game.(Seriously! If you like soccer at all, you should really check out a match with the group.) It’s a real good pub vibe, and still family friendly. I’ve seen all ages of children there with their parents. Food-wise, I’ve never been disappointed. I appreciate that they now have a bigger monthly menu. They try their best to work with all diets, but sometimes their menu is so limited they don’t have lot of options. It seems that vegetarians will always have something interesting and good to eat. Vegans have it a bit tougher. Vegans can usually count on ordering a side of potatoes for breakfast. Lunch and dinner is hit or miss; Peeve’s has been able to make a salad with oil and vinegar dressing most of the time. The bigger monthly menu has included hummus and chips. Drink-wise, the lattes are pretty good, even though it’s mainly a pub. They have soy and almond milk available. Their wine and cider selections are always good, and I’ve liked everything I’ve tried. The market side of the place is really awesome, but expensive. I’ll occasionally grab something that looks interesting, but I mostly use it to buy neat local Christmas gifts for family members.

This place doesn’t belong in Fresno. Why do I say that? Because this place is «cool», for lack of a better term, it exudes a love for art, local culture, and local shopping. Peeves Public House is located in the Fulton Mall which looks and feels more a mid-level skid row or any normal street in in Downtown L.A. When you first walk-in, you notice the large murals on the walls, the spray painted words«#LoveALocal», and a chalkboard calendar of upcoming events. There’s also art and photo’s by local artists displayed that are for sale. As I moseyed up to the counter I was greeted by three people and one very friendly dog who let pet his belly. I read the menu and noticed they have decent collection of craft beers and a interesting menu with many options for the veggie lovers. Since it was 11am, I said no to the beer and ordered that days special, roasted turkey tamales, I also opted for a large iced coffee. Oh my, where’s the potty?! The tamales were very delicious, the turkey was super tender and the masa dough was firm, but not dry. They were served with a spicy sauce that was a great complement to the meal. I think it was a Sriracha aioli?(don’t quote me). The coffee was good, but maybe it was a bad idea to pair it with the tamales and spicy aioli. Located right next door to Peeves, actually through a small doorway, is a tiny little market that not only offers locally sourced food and drink items, but also t-shirts, paintings, and weird little chachkies made by local art lovers. I didn’t buy anything while I walked through the shop, mostly because everything was Fresno geared and I don’t live here, nor do I represent Fresno. Peeve’s Public House and Local Market is a must to check out while you’re in the Nickel Nickel 9(local term), they offer great food, great vibes, and great way to support the local community.
