Trying to support local business can also bite you in the ass, because this place seems to be in its death bed. This place was pretty much a ghost town during the lunch hour, and there were hardly any good fountain drink selections because either they are a) out of order, or b) pretty stale. The menu had a mix of American and Mediterranean food, but I decided to keep it simple and order their Turkey bacon Sandwich combo, which came with the typical fries and drink. Goddamn, the sandwich was horrible. Bacon tasted old and way too chewy, and the turkey itself tasted like it was a week past its expiration date. Fries were fries I guess, but they use the crinkle cut bagged up ones that you would find at a grocery store which I wish places like this would avoid. It’s no surprise that I was practically the only one there during lunch, and it will definitely be the last. Hopefully this place will come under new management or something, because it’s probably one of worst lunch spots downtown, right there with Thai Yum Yum.

This place is near my job but I had never tried it until recently. I heard they had fattoush which is my favorite so I gave it a shot. I was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered the shawarma which comes with rice pilaf and fattoush. The fattoush was obviously old and the entirely plate was incredibly bland. The rice and and the shawarma were both cold.

I work downtown and have tried the breakfast burritos at every place within walking distance on my 15 minute break. Some places charge nearly $ 6 for a burrito, but not here. I’ve had their burritos at least 2 dozen times. They are that good… For $ 4 you can get a really good burrito, way better than the more expensive ones, loaded with eggs and cheese, CRISPY bacon, and they are GRILLED! Clearly they put a little extra attention into their food rather than just rolling some ingredients in a tortilla. The chorizo and sausage are great, too. I will admit, the lady sometimes does not see me right when I walk up to the counter, but I promise that a friendly«hello» or «good morning» is worth the horrible inconvenience that often comes with opening one’s mouth to speak. Those of you who read all the reviews will know why I addressed this. Just go try it, you won’t be disappointed!

Meh. My boyfriend and I were trying to find somewhere new to eat so while we were in the middle of our downtown apartment hunt we stopped here. The service was great! The young girl at the counter was friendly and very helpful with explaining pricing and some of the dishes. The wait was short.(We went after the usual lunch hour so we were pretty much the only ones there.) The food was okay… Ive had better lula but I usually pay much more for it so I wasnt upset. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger but said the fries were kind of soggy. Overall it wasnt bad, I’d go again but I wouldnt go out of my way to do it.

I drove by yesterday morning and saw their open front door and somehow cheery OPEN sign and resolved to visit them this morning. I did so. I parked, paid the meter, and walked in through that welcoming doorway. I smiled as I looked around, taking in the options and, after deciding on a breakfast burrito, I stepped up to the counter. In the back was the sole worker, doing some sort of side work. I waited patiently for two full minutes. Not only did she not come up to greet me, or throw me a quick, «Just a sec!», but she didn’t even make eye contact with me, even though she was facing me and there were no obstructions to her view. My fuzzy excitement over finding a new bistro to try slowly gave way to disappointment and resentment, and I walked out, still in silence.

If I could give negative stars I would. I work across the street from this place and only have a 30 minute lunch. It took them 20 minutes to make a grilled cheese sandwich. When I ran back to my desk and opened the container I saw a sandwich that was not grilled. The outside was dry and the inside had this strange oil dripping out of it. Never going back there again EVER! They have absolutely no pride in their food.

Ordered a chicken fattoush salad. Flavor of salad was not bad but not great, chicken kebob was seasoned well, but not grilled at all! Pretty much looked like it was boiled or something. For the price $ 11.00 I was really disappointed not going back. Go to George’s down the street better quality food for the same price maybe even less.

The Downtown Bistro is under new ownership and offering some really great Armenian food, along with their regular bistro menu. The home-made hummus with pita chips is yum. I also love their yalanchi(stuffed grape leaves). Next I’m going to try their fatoush salad and pilaf. Give them a try!

Great food, great value. Super friendly owners. I’ve tried a bunch of different stuff on the menu and everything is consistently good. My favorites are the Turkey Club sandwich and the Tri Tip dip they do on Tuesdays. The Beerocks are also tasty as are the breakfast burritos. Hard to beat for the money. A downtown gem for sure.

If your looking for a speedy lunch this place is great. They take call in orders as well. The menu isnt very diverse, but the atmosphere and staff is very friendly. They serve breakfast and lunch, and have nice outdoor seating.

I work downtown and eat here often. The food is good quality and flavor and they give large portions at a very resonable price. The staff is super friendly and will make whatever you like if they have the ingredients. No one likes everything on every menu so if you try something and it isn’t your favorite do yourself a favor and give this place a second shot.

got the hot turkey sandwich. regular sourdough bread grilled with butter. overcooked tough bacon. one slice of tomato. melted cheese. artificial-tasting bologne-like turkey. no lettuce. no unique dressing. good service, but i could make a better sandwich at home.
