Leilani Shave Ice

The only thing that keeps me from giving this place one star is that fact that it tastes good. It’s hard to get shaved ice wrong. They have great flavors and creative combinations. Why the two stars? The place is really dirty. The floor was sticky, the tables were sticky, and the chairs were stick. Sticky for days and dirty. It looked like nothing had been wiped down all day. Customer service isn’t sticky but it was subpar. There were a couple teens sitting behind the counter, texting, and not very friendly. It just felt really unprofessional and the upkeep was, STICKY.

Leilani Shaved Ice is an oddity in Fresno, but in a good way. Ice cream and Froyo rule the streets here, and constantly battle for domination. While the big 2 desserts are vying for one-​upsmanship, Leilani Shaved Ice surfed in under the radar, and established that yes, Shaved ice works outside of Fairs and festivals.
Shaved Ice is what they do, and bruddah, they do it well. Finely shaved ice with no chunks. Syrups that stay sweet to the last bite, and don’t overpower. a Myriad of flavor options with classics, and some lesser known, niche or regional Hawaiian favorites. Plus, the toppings: Red Beans, Condensed Milk and so many others. It feels like walking into Matsumoto’s without the 5 hour flight.
The only thing that could use a little work is the décor/​eating area. I get that they’re trying to do the whole «Look, we’re Hawaiian» thing, but its a but tacky in some places. The grass hanging over the door is a nuisance, and the surfing on the TV is muted and barely visible to the lobby area. Don’t let this throw you off though, the menu is top notch, and the atmosphere is friendly
Long story short: Instead of going to Mickeys or Fosters or Marble Slab, come here. You wont be sorry!

Where else can you get the REAL DEAL — Dole Whip — at half the price yet twice the portion size, save LEILANI’S here in Fresno? Truth be known, the ones they serve here at Leilani’s are SO WAY much better than any I would have purchased even on the BEST day at Disneyland, because you don’t have to stand in line for 45 minutes to purchase one from a machine that has been churning out more than the machine’s freezing unit is capable of handling — the ones served at Leilani’s are firm, generously portioned, and candidly are just 1 million times better than what they pawn off to you at Disneyland at exorbitant prices. I am literally over the moon with excitement that I now don’t have to drive all the way down to Disneyland, pay hundreds of dollars to get in to Disneyland, to do my usual, which has always been, walking directly to the Tiki room then stand in line for forever to get my fix! I absolutely love you, Leilani’s, and within a week I have bought so many Dole Whip’s that I have already filled up my card and can hardly wait to come back to get my freebie. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for bringing to Fresno what is my Dole Whip dream! Yay! PS — your staff is absolutely adorable and work hard to provide cheerful accommodating customer service. Thank you so very very much!

I love the pineapple floats at Disneyland, and these ones taste exactly the same – but they are a bit bigger and cost less. It’s also much closer!
Friendly staff, colorful and bright interior (nicely themed wall to wall murals), pleasant music in the background. A nice place to sit, relax and enjoy a cold treat.
The shaved ice/​ice cream selections look great, so I’m sure we’ll be back again (and again)!

So much more than Sno cones. Leilani’s is awesome. The only place where you can get Dole Whip besides Disneyland. They have so many flavors and so many options. You can get a scoop of ice cream at the bottom of your shave ice!!! My son and I love this place.

I wanted to give a 3.5 but couldn’t so I rounded up.
Pros: authentic and delicious– I got the cotton candy with vanilla ice cream. My friend got the blue raspberry milkshake which ended up tasting kind of like cotton candy. The employees are really nice and helpful. I really like the décor as well. Reasonable priced– about $ 5.00 after tax for the larger sizes. Conveniently located.
Cons: the shave ice machine is extremely loud. So loud we found ourselves almost yelling at one another. It needs some WD40 or just a replacement. I would have put it in the back behind the wall so customers don’t have to endure that noise. The place needs some music. Something festive like authentic Hawaiian music or surfing music. Another thing that really bothered us was the fact that the water in the sink was left running constantly. I understand there is a convenience aspect but we are in a drought. We all need to do our part. Also, the tables were stained from previous customers eating on them. They have to be wiped down with water not just with a dry napkin.
Will probably be returning since we have a groupon but probably won’t eat in due to the dirty tables and the loud machine.

OMGosh! I never thought it was possible to crave shaved ice but Leilani Shaved Ice proved to me that you can. This place is amazing. I decided to visit after a day at the Shinzen Japanese gardens with my niece. It was a warm day and I hadn’t had shaved ice since I was a kid so I did a quick Unilocal search and found this place.
I’m so glad that I did. Walking in the first thing that you notice are the nicely painted walls which go with the Hawaiian theme of the place. They have a pretty large selection of flavors to choose from for your shaved ice and give you the option to have ice cream put at the bottom. However, I opted fro no ice cream. I ordered my shaved ice with cherry, vanilla and pineapple flavors.
The flavors they use are really palatable. The ice itself was great too. It did not have chunks like you usually find in shaved ice. It was really smooth and had a great consistency.
The staff was great and very friendly. I sincerely enjoyed interacting with them.
Overall I loved Lelani Shaved ice and I now have a new place to frequent in during the sweltering Fresno summers!
