I was on the way to Yosemite and visited fresno for lunch. This place is awesome! I love its sour salad(all the veggies were so fresh!) and white chicken with hot sauce. Oh! I could save the dish for another meal as it’s so huge.

I wanted to try something new while I was visiting river park and decided to stop here. I could not have ever dreamed I’d find such flavorful food, generous portions, excellent customer service, clean establishment, etc… I highly recommend it here. I plan to return as often as I can! 10⁄10 perfect to me!

everything was spot on, the place was super clean and well kept. I would definitely go back for more, I recommend the beef kabab super bomb. It a little on the pricey side but it is so worth it.

This place is incredible! Wonderful people that own it and went through the menu with us since our first time. Food was so delicious and all made fresh here! The eggplant moussaka is out of this world! Great lunch deal too. Homemade baklava served with the meal and it is delicious. Will recommend to everyone!

Tried the place with my boyfriend after being in the area and reading Unilocal reviews. When they say huge portions, they mean HUGE portions! Food was delicious, and the service really was the cherry on the top. I highly recommend the garlic sauce! We’ll definitely be back.

My mom and I were looking for a place to quick bite for lunch and came across Doy. We are always up for trying a new spot, especially when it’s not a chain. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the owner with a smile! He welcomed us and explained the menu, as we told him it was our first time in. To our surprise, the portions were large! It wasn’t like some places you go to where they measure out and kind of skimp. Not here. You get healthy portions of the tasty options! The rice and bulgar were amazing. I tried the spicy chicken and my mom ordered the lamb shish. They were both delicious but I think the lamb took the prize! Our plates also came with a slice of pita bread and the garlic sauce. Can’t beat the lunch special! We both had enough left over for lunch the next day. Definitely have to give Doy a try, you’ll be back!

For the price 10 bucks you get a ton of food. The rice and bulgar were excellent, the salad fresh. I got the marinated garlic chicken. It was good but a tad dry which is why I would give four stars in other cities but since it’s Fresno I’m giving five for value. Everyone is packed in at Panda Express across the street, nasty unhealthy food. This place is superior value, taste and is healthier. The guy at the front was very warm and friendly.

i love mediterranean food, i’ve frequented most of the mediterranean places in town, and i think this place is my new overall favorite(churrasco grill is also great). their salad is outstanding(i say this as a generally salad-hating person), the beef/lamb is tender as is the chicken, both succulent(yeah, succulent), the rice is perfectly moist and not greasy, garbanzo beans are not mushy, and they even give you a little slice of baklava to enjoy(unless you get the doy healthy, but that’s understandable). i’ve visited 3 times within the past 3 weeks and this review is a representation of my collective experience; this review is not based on a single visit. the quality of the food has been consistently great and the service is always friendly as well. the first time we walked in we were given a hearty greeting by what i would imagine was the owner and he went over the menu options with us to give us a better understanding of what was available. a meal for two will run you about $ 20(not including drinks), but if you’re interested in saving a little money if you visit after 4pm you can feed two for $ 15(also not including drinks).

I’m sure like most first timers to this wonderful little restaurant we were headed for«the big bird chain restaurant» next door but when confronted with the possibility of a wait list and mediocre food we decided to take a chance and give Doy Grill a shot — several small businesses had passed through the same location without luck. THISPLACEISWORTHTHE5STARS — NOQUESTION! A great example of dedicated local/small business owners and staff. The service and explanation of foods offered was far beyond my expectations and that of the service I have received at much more expensive restaurants in the past. I WILLRETURNREGULARLY. It was the only Mediterranean food that has left a lasting impression on my taste buds — without a doubt MADEFRESH thank you Doy Grill!

I work at the hospital downtown(Fresno Community), and we order large platters often for the staff. There aren’t many restaurants that deliver(DOY delivers if order is $ 150+), which is weird, so when you come across one that does and their food is bomb… then you’ve found a winner. DOYGRILL is this kind of restaurant! We ordered most every tray(salad(seriously incredible), chicken shish, beef shish, beef tantuni, bulgar, hummus) they offer and they were all very tasty. Fed a lot of people for an affordable price. Many happy people with full stomachs after this meal. And let me just say, the customer service at this place is out of this world. I got a call from the owner a couple hours after his delivery to us just to make sure everything was satisfactory. I really appreciate those kind of calls. Shows a lot of professionalism is service. Great food and service with a smile. Well done Doy Grill! Keep up the great work. We’ll be ordering from you guys again and again!

Second time here. I enjoyed the food better my first visit. I goofed and ordered the eggplant moussaka not realizing there were two versions. A vegetarian one and another with what I assume was ground beef. I went back and ordered a side of the vegetarian moussaka($ 4.99+tax) which was in a smaller covered container which explains how I missed it. I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t eat red meat by choice. I did taste the regular eggplant moussaka before I discovered my mistake and went to get the vegetarian version. The regular one is better. Yeah, I said it. It had more substance to it obviously because of the ground meat, but the vegetarian one was more liquid like a soup whereas the regular one was more solid. The vegetarian eggplant moussaka reminded me of something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Maybe minestrone soup? It didn’t taste bad, but it didn’t wow me and it definitely didn’t surpass its meat having counterpart. I’ll stick to their chicken and won’t be ordering it again. I also didn’t think it was worth the price I paid for a side of it. You can get get a single item plate that’s overflowing with enough food to feed two people for $ 8.95+tax, but to just get an item by itself(same amount as you do with a plate) is more than half the price. I was a bit disappointed that my pita bread was hard since I like the bread. I couldn’t finish it since it was too hard and stiff(That’s what she said?!) to eat. My parents shared a plate, but I noticed theirs was missing beans and my mom said she wasn’t asked what kind of beans she wanted. The baklava is still as tasty as I remembered. I’d like to have a meal of their baklava. The staff here is very friendly.

My husband and I try to find healthy alternatives to burgers or pizza when we are looking for something casual and inexpensive. This was the perfect place to go to find just what we needed right before our movie at Edwards. When we walked in we were immediately greeted in a friendly manner to the point where I felt like I was walking into a friend’s home. The place is still new so they asked if it was our first time. After telling them ‘yes’ they explained what meals they offered and what exactly the dishes were. The servings are really generous! The food was delicious enough to eat every bit of it! We were full at the end but also felt good about it because you could tell the meal was very clean and fresh :) Each member of the staff working at the time was so friendly! We are definitely going back. I do regret not ordering hummus and trying it out because it looked super good.

As I walked in, I get very happy and friendly greetings from the people working there. I felt the love in this place! The kitchen is visible when you walked in and everything was VERY neat and clean. It seems that the only thing they do not make in house is the pita bread. The food is served in the manner at which it is served at Panda Express. The price is also very reasonable for the amount of food. For a trio meal, you can honestly feed a family of 4. I got a trio meal, shared with a friend(Included: Pilaf/Bulgar, Chickpeas, Chicken and Beef Kebabs, garlic chicken with 2 pita pieces) and we still have left overs. For the trio meal it came out to around $ 20.00. The food was good and was being prepared fresh. The chicken kebabs were well seasoned. We also got free baklava thanks to the Unilocal check-in! What knocked it down a star for me was that the food was lukewarm except for the chicken kebabs which were just made. I would have expected my meal to be a bit hotter. The pita bread was in the warmer for too long and it was a bit hard for me. DOY Grill is fast, cheap and a change of pace from your local fast food joint!

This restaurant has delicious food and is reasonably priced. A plate of food costs $ 9, it includes; your choice of meat, pilaf, & beans, and also includes a salad, pita bread, and baklava. The serving size is large enough to feed an army. You definitely get your money’s worth. The baklava was delicious, I bought a case of one dozen for $ 6.00. The customer service I experienced was wonderful. The woman explained each item to me and helped me choose which food items I would enjoy most. I would recommend it.

This«fast-casual» Turkish(Mediterranean) restaurant would make your mouth water, keep your wallets from thinning, while keeping your arteries and fat levels low. Its second location located at the north central Fresno remains to be just as good as their first location in Clovis, their service remains to be friendly and congenial, their price is affordable(under $ 10), their portion is huge, their food is healthy(high protein, good carbs), and most importantly tasty and presentable. The system of ordering here is fast casual, like at chipotle or pieology– where you build your own meal — meaning no table service, means you save on tips and the food is served fast. Starting at the line would be the carb option(bulgar or rice pilaf), followed by your vegetarian protein option(garbanzo or white beans), then its the protein choice(chicken shish kebab/beef kebab /chicken kebab /moussaka /beef tatuni) — you can either have it duo for $ 12.95 or uno for $ 8.95, finally the meal is complimented with a delicious turkish salad, cacik(a yogurt with herbs and cucumber), a warm piece of bread and finally the meal even comes with a complimentary dessert of baklava. DOY even serves up a high protein low carb option with their DOY healthy, which is basically two pieces of meat on a stick, with their salad. A perfect meal for those of us trying to trim off the winter fat and keep the muscles growing with those protein. Turkish cuisine is the pride from the rich ottoman empire which is simply described as a fusion and refinement of central asian, caucasian, middle eastern, Mediterranean and balkan cuisine. Their cuisines is arguably the best representation of the Mediterranean cuisine. Turkish dishes use garlic, tomatoes, dill, parsley, red and green peppers and, of course, olive oil — all unprocessed ingredients that would provide the wholesome goodness to your body. The emphasis on presentation of food is the pride of turkish food, and DOY grill certainly reflects this importance aspect of turkish food with every plate they serve. In my opinion the food here is simply scrumptious and luscious, plus the meat is really juicy and tender, while the rice fluffy, however the selection of food here might seem bland to people who are used to eating fast food, since their taste buds is spoiled to high content of salt and injected synthetic flavors. Their baklava is ambrosial, simply divine. A perfect combination of honey sweetness, and buttery, combined with the heavenly crispy texture, and best of all it comes with the meal. A perfect place for me to get a healthy affordable meal for the same price I would be paying at a fast food joint.
