I think this place has the most diverse beer selection of the bars I’ve been to in Fresno. The staff is nice and everything is pretty reasonably priced. My only downside is that the seating isn’t very comfortable and there isn’t anything to do there. Just add a pinball machine, donkey kong, skeeball, something to keep me hanging out there and drinking more beer. Right now it’s the kind of place I buy beer but never stay to drink it.

The beer list was ok but the atmosphere was definitely lacking! With a name like«Das Bierhaus», I expected some sort of German theme… they should have called it «Tune Up» instead because it reminded me more of a car garage.

One of my favorite hidden places in Fresno. Two tv’s, beers on tap and if you don’t like them, beers in the cold case. Something for everyone. If you like craft beers and an awesome location this is the place to be. I prefer the hidden gems of Fresno and this is one of them! Awesome craft beers and the bartenders are always awesome and personable. Anyone from who loves craft beers should stop by! All the regulars know this is the best place!

West coast craft beer haven. Skip(Ralph) is well versed on micro breweries. If you want a lesson and some kick ass beer. Check this handle rolling pub out. Suggestion: tioga sequoia smoke chaser(you may need a cab). If you don’t know about the beer ask.

This was a gem on a business trip to Fresno. The customers were friendly and the bartender was great. Prices were reasonable and they let you split big bottles with other customers which had you making friends pretty quickly.

Die Biere werden hier verdammt erstaunlich !!! Punch that bisnitch into Google translate. The Bieres here are awesome. If you are going to complain about a cork fee then grab a bud light some where else poop stains. Shame this place is in tower because tower sucks on ice. I like to drink with less than a 30% chance of getting stabbed but the beer is soooooooooooooooooooooooo enticing. If you are in the mood for great beer and like minded people come here now. If you cry over paying for cork fees then you can F right off. Jussss saying.

Good selection of tap beers, plus plenty of bombers and other brews to go. Cool ambience, right in the heart of the Tower District. Too bad they don’t have any food, or even some pretzels to munch on while I enjoy some cold crafties. Phil the bartender is very knowledgeable about beer, and makes good recommendations.

Love the beers and enviornment. The friendly bartenders just put the cherry on top! There is a beer for everyone here; whether you like stouts, ipas, barley wines, etc. I am never disappointed here. Clean place and if you need a little snack while enjoying your beers there are plenty of places to grab something from close by. Definitely recommend this place… a true craft beer sanctuary!

Originally heard about this place over a month ago from a bartender at Sequoia, he said they had a pretty good selection of craft beers. This time back out to the Fresno area I tried to stop by Monday afternoon only to discover that’s the one day they’re closed. Luckily, I was able to pass through again on Thursday. Very happy with what I found inside. It really isn’t much of a place, good to hang out I’m sure if you’re a local or have some time to kill. There’s a tv, a few high top tables and a bar. I did notice they had some board games stacked in a corner as well which would be cool for a group. As for the beer though, that’s what I came for and it’s what I got. 3 beer fridges with a very nice bottle selection, some more stacked on some shelves on the other side, and they also have some rotating taps it appears. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay for a cold one but did walk out with 5 bombers. I’ve found it rather difficult to find a decent place in the north Fresno area for craft beers(as opposed to say the bay area), so I will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

First place I went to drink after moving back into town. I was coming from San Diego so I was getting heavy into the craft beer scene already. I love a local place and was excited to see a place where I could get most bottles and pay a corkage fee to enjoy them there. Other reviews indicate I can bring food in but I’ll test that soon by trying to roll in with a full pizza or a bucket of chicken. It’ll be hilarious. Also the bartender told me they’d be having a MST3K night with a movie playing. All in all I see strong potential in this sexy little joint.

Cool place. Kind of industrial looking with aluminum sided walls and a homemade bar, but very comfortable. Amazing bottled beer selection. Less on tap but still a more interesting selection than most places. Buy beer to take home or crack it open and drink there. Bartender really knew his his stuff and introduced me to some really good beers. Definitely a place you wanna check out if you’re a beer lover.

I had a lot of fun at this place. I’m just getting into craft beer, because my fiancé is and one day we decided to pop in and see what all the fuss was about. This was a slow Sunday afternoon so it was basically just the owner, bartender and us, but the owner was very affable able to talk to us about all the beers she carries, plans on carrying, the events she is having and steps she is using to enhance the craft brew and home brew scene. They have a small rotating tap offering, and as others have mentioned a huge bottle offering of Californian, Domestic and Imported craft and small release selections that you can open and try. I had the Tioga-Sequia IPA while we chatted and we took home a bottle of Clown Shoes Blaecorn Unidragon, which I also thoroughly recommended for Stout lovers in these colder months! The one thing I think they could improve would be to offer beer snacks. You currently can bring your own food and Piemontes across the street will deliver(which is a 5 Star place worth checking out all on its own), but I think if they were doing some artisan pretzels or cheese plates they would really seal the deal.

First off to anyone who is not familiar with how this place operates and is complaining about the corkage fee, its because its required by law. My girlfriend and I came in this past Sunday to buy a beer and ended up staying and having a draft beer and talking with the owner while we drank it. The owner obviously is a beer fan, she homebrews, is a member of the local homebrew club, and has a very apparent knowledge of beer and breweries. The beer selection is pretty good, definitely one of the highest number of bottled beers I have seen in town. They also let you bring in your own food from wherever you want, have a bottle share thing they do where you get to sample all sorts of beers that people bring in, and have fun events liking showing movies on a screen they set up. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was really glad that we decided to stop by on a whim on Sunday, and we will DEFINITELY be back soon.

I think Allen pretty much covered the layout and pricing of the establishment. With that said it’s kind of meh even though the young man currently managing the joint is a beer connoisseur and super enthusiastic. Just something makes this place fall short and I’m trying to put my finger on it. It could be that it’s sort of industrial looking and the layout feels like you’re getting a beer from the paranoid android from Hitchhikers guide to the you know what. Anyway, I come here often but literally only to get a beer and roll and I keeps it real with the place because I don’t like it that much. Although, they do occasionally carry some solid beers. Which I applaud the manger! Overall worth a try but just saturated with shitty california beers. Please can someone stop force feeding me Firehouse OMFG.

140+. Das Bierhaus carries 140+ beers and ciders. For this alone I’m hoping they stay and help develop the local craft brew scene. Das Bierhaus is a brand new bottle shop opened up in the Tower District. This might be Fresno’s first so let me run down the basics for you. Like a wine lounge, there is a strong selection available and bottles are priced to sell individually. You can drink your choice there though they do add a corkage fee(currently $ 1 for a bottle or $ 2 for a larger one). It’s fine to think of this place as a bar but with far more emphasis on showcasing the products rather than getting drunk people together for late night sheet wrestling. Atmospherically, the place is well lit with high ceilings and has more of a warehouse feel to it. The bottles are stored in refrigerators and on shelves along the walls. There are a few small round tables spread out in the middle with high chairs and also a long standing table next to the entrance wall. Towards the back is the main bar counter with several high chairs as well. I imagine they aren’t completely done with the feel they want to aesthetically establish. One of the clerks/bartenders is interested in refinishing the main bar counter and I agree it’d spruce up the place. Most of the available beers are from California breweries. They have a board up asking for suggestions on what beers the community would like to see brought in. If you don’t know what to write, then I’ll help you out with the right answer: Imperial Russian Stouts. Alternatively, Belgian Ales is also acceptable. 140+. Here’s to hoping they thrive and hit a chord with the local community.
