Yuk Wah Restaurant

The food is good, service was good, but the menu has changed. They used to offer 2 combination dinners for 1 on their menu, combination A and combination B, but no more. We used to grab and go and now we can’t order those dinners anymore and who wants to deal with buckets when they had 2 perfect meals on the menu.

Please save your money and don’t waste your time going here. We ordered our food to-​go after finding this place on Unilocal.We went and picked it up and brought it home. Upon getting home and opening it we saw how burnt the food was. You could break the chow Mein noodles with your finger like ramen! We decided to go back. When We asked for a refund we were told no, and to please leave. Then we opened the bag and showed the owner the food had fallen all over the bag due to the box it was thrown in. She accused us of «eating it» and said no refund. After 20 mins of arguing she told us to leave and we said not without a refund. She said no, continued to ignore us and kept saying «leave.» We continued to wait for our refund. She would only refund us half of the amount even though we ate NONE of the food. The customer service was SO horrible! I have never ever been treated so poorly by an establishment before. I wish someone had warned us on Unilocal so we would have known, so this is why I am writing to let you all know!

My girl ordered from here and I was a bit worried after some of the reviews and her place is kind of tough to find… I was impressed they arrived after only 20 mins. everything was hot and delicious ! My fave is the Chow fun but everything else was great !! Can’t wait to try them again !! The prawns with mixed veggies another great dish ! Thumbs up !

Had food delivered a few times, never remarkable but how many places deliver? But, this last time was the LAST time. Too many good places to eat in and around Fremont. This has got to be one of the worst places.
Ordered and told 30 mins, sounds reasonable. After 1 hour, we call back to check on the status. «He’s on his way» … Call back after 90 minutes– «he’s on his way» finally arrived and everything ordered was cold. Must have got lost «on the way» … Hasn’t anybody heard of GPS? It’s on every phone now. A delivery driver should use it.
The food has never been great, just easy. But, cold food is terrible.
Mediocre and cold is a waste of money.

To counteract my last review of a bad Chinese restaurant, I wanted to return to our olé stand-​by– Yuk Wah in Centerville. A typical «mom and pop» place, there is a sense of family, comfort, and underlying sense that the bill will be reasonable. I’ve been coming here for years, so I am a return customer– but still, it feels friendly and welcoming here. For a quick lunch we had the special Chinese Salad, and the combo appetizer that allowed us to share a foil wrapped chicken, egg roll, deep fried prawn, and BBQ Pork. That and hot tea for under $ 15! Our kind host also gave us some sweet and sour soup on the house, which made us happy. A true Chinese family serving a great menu at reasonable prices– what a great concept!

this is one of my favorite spots for chinese food!!! its so good tasty, fresh and delicious. my family and I came here for more than 15 years. the owner always friendly but the food you will never regret dont get judge but the way the place look because the food is what it matter !!

I wish I had read the reviews more carefully at before I ordered. I ordered online exactly at 6 pm and it said 40 minutes to 1 hour. An hour and 15 minutes go by and no food so I call and the lady said he has already left and will be there in five minutes. 20 more minutes go by with no food and I call back and she says he has to be there by now. She keeps arguing with me and I keep saying he is not here. I finally get so upset that I cancel my order and tell her to refund my money. The driver finally shows up one hour and fifty minutes after I place my order. I asked him when he left and he said 10 minutes ago. I guess my kids are eating cereal for dinner.

I will not be eating here anymore. They always get my order wrong and the service is poor. Yes, the owner is very sweet, but everyone else is cold and uninviting. Not only is my order wrong almost every time, but they take longer than promised. I just got food from Fortune Cookie down the street and it was 100 times better! Better quality, quantity, prices, service and most importantly TASTE!
Sorry, yuk wah. You had my patronage for many years, but it’s so over, I’ve moved onto a place that’s waaaay better.

I’ve been coming to this place since they have opened up! wonderful all around. the servings that they give when you dine in is awesome. my favorite dish is their honey walnut prawns i love it, love it, love it…

Good food. Low price, very basic restaurant.
If all you need is chinese food, this place is good.
But this is not a place for a family dinner… ambience is very very poor to non-​existent.
I doubt very much if the owners read these reviews since their english appears to be limited.

The crispy chicken wings were amazing. Wonderful food at a very affordable price. The house special fried is a must try. The quantity of food is really good.

We’ve been ordering from Yuk Wah for 6 years. The last time we ordered delivery they forgot our order. we let that slide. TONIGHT IS OUR LAST TIME ORDERING FROM THEM EVER.
We placed an order at 730 online for delivery. Yuk Wah only delivers to a 3 mi radius so obviously we’re not far away. Still no food at 830. we call to check in and woman answers saying our food is not ready, it’s still there. We ask when it will be ready she says the driver left without our food, have to wait for them to come back. When is that? She doesn’t know. Asks us what we want to do, we ask if we are still getting charged for the food she says yes. Out of frustration my husband tells woman that he will go and pick it up.
He arrives to Yuk Wah expecting the place to be packed, bc that’s why it’s delayed right? There are only TWO SMALL TABLES THERE. WHEN HE GETS THERE THE LADY TOLD HIM SHE GAVE OUR FOOD OUT TO BE DELIVERED AFTER WE FREAKIN TOLD HER WE’D PICK IT UP. Oh and before that she tries to bill us for an order that’s not ours and tells my husband that she cant find his receipt, who’s fcking fault is that?! WE ONLY WENT OVER OUR ORDER HELLA TIMES BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE.
My husband calls me (I’m at home, he went to go to yuk wah) and asks if they came. They did not. Right before my husband comes home THEY ARRIVE. WTF. The girl that came to my door was apologetic (of course, I mean I could’ve come out cussing but I didn’t) and I asked what happened. Said the orders got mixed up, I told her there were only two table there, she said the other tables left… IM NOT HAPPY. AND ON TOP OF THAT NO DISCOUNT NO FREE SOMETHING FOR WAITING, get this, UNTIL 9PM! WE GOT OUR FOOD AT FREAKING 9PM. WE ORDERED 3 FCKING THINGS!
I really hate to write angry reviews especially for a mom and pop’s place where we’ve ordered party trays for all of our family parties and a place where the people were so nice, didn’t yell if they fcked up, etc etc. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN.
and really it pains me to say all of this because it’s been SO long that we’ve ordered with you guys. I’m so mad. If your restaurant is really as busy as you say it is then good for you, I guess you have to lose some regular customers to gain a lot more.

Ribs and sweet and sour pork were absolutely awful. Lemon chicken was okay. Potstickers and bbq pork rice were quite good though. Some food was cold after being delivered.

Its 8:01 …I placed my delivery order at 6:21 …still no food. I was told its on its way. 15 min ago. I live 5 min away driving. If my car would start i would have picked it up. I was told no discount I paid already.

As I walk in, and every time I walk in, all I hear is «Hi Girl!» hahaha What a crazy but nice owner. But let the food speak for itself, while there are times I hated the service, the owner here is always friendly and she makes sure that her waiters have it together. She and the chef gets my order right, always tasty ~ even without the onions (don’t care for any types of onion). Overall, the food here is pretty good for the inexpensive price. I was here for their lunch special at $ 6.50 a plate; they also have the $ 21 for three main entrée plus soup.

Went to dinner her last night and it was SOO good woke up thinking about… I had the Kung Pao and war won to soup both was amazing and great flavor!!! Also had the fried rice! We have had them numerous times even delivery has been great! Love this place!

UPDATE: Holy mackerel lay off the msg! We all knocked out after this meal. That is all.
We ordered a big bowl of fish belly soup (enough for 5 cups and some had seconds), combination fried rice, beef and green beans, honey walnut prawns, and lemon chicken all for $ 47 (excluding tip). Please see pictures because they speak a thousand words. Everything was good – no complaints here!
When we came in on a Sunday afternoon there was a big party and another couple dining on their late lunches. Our food came out somewhat slow but it’s understandable and the wait was reasonable. The soup came out first and kept us occupied until the rice and other entrees came out.
This was our first time dining here but we have eaten yuk wah’s food for some time now. When we have big parties our uncle always orders their food, especially the huge fish. They even came to the rescue when we needed fried rice last minute for our grandpas funeral. (My grandpa was pretty popular so a lot more people came than we expected!) yuk wah pulled through and had a fat tray of rice for us by the reception. We are very thankful for that.
Even though we didn’t try the lunch specials, I observed that it they are available every day from 11 – 3, and cost around $ 7. Excellent deal!

The chicken wings did not look like the chicken wangs that other people posted. It had no sauce, it was basically just a fry chicken wang mix with some peppers, garlic, and salt. The wings were very salty, definitely ain’t coming back here anytime soon.

They distributed their menu in a wide area in Fremont so I knew of them and I gave them a try. Called ahead for take-​out; was told 15 minutes, then when I got there, the woman said «Take Out? You called ahead for Chow Fun? OK, you have a seat…» and then told the kitchen to cook my order! It took 10 minutes of sitting alone in the dining room while they started cooking my order. I felt like walking out but it would have taken me more time to find another place to eat.
The Chow Fun was pretty good. Too bad they mishandled the take-​out order for a first-​time customer in an area where there are plenty of choices. I’m not going back.

I used to always come here with family, so much that the manager knows all of us now lol.
But anyways I really like this food. I have tried mongolian beef, shrimp Wong tong soup, shrimp fried rice, chicken fried rice, chow mein, and a couple others and they are just delicious. They don’t skimp you on sauces like for the Mongolian beef, they cover it with sauce and have a generous amount of onions.
The place is hidden which is sad because it’s so good. Everything has a lot of flavor and priced reasonably. And the best part you get a free scoop of ice cream when you’re done. They used to have green tea but now it’s only mango (which is delicious!!) and strawberry.
Bring the family! The have round tables to sit at.
