Ming’s will be closing around Thanksgiving, this is very sad. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Fremont. Great prices, fabulous owners and delicious food. Ming’s will be missed!!!

My family and I have been coming to Ming’s for years and now it pains me to write this review because Ming’s will be closing this year. We are losing a true culinary gem here, people. For years, I’ve been able to count on Amy and her family for only the best Chinese food one could make. Where do I begin? For one thing, their War Won Ton soup is impeccable. The dumplings are never overcooked nor are they too small. The Chow Mein here is to die for. They go the extra mile by incorporating the finest ingredients such as shrimp, beef, and pork. I’m also going to miss the signature«Sweet & Sour» soup which could cure ANY cold you might have contracted, I kid you not. From the friendly service to the complimentary tea, Ming’s has given me a plethora of good memories. My family and I ate here when I «graduated» from middle school and four years later we dined here when I graduated high school. Will there ever be another Chinese restaurant that could possibly meet the standards of perfection that Ming’s does? I don’t know. But I’ll have to find out now as I search for a new Chinese restaurant of choice. Thank you Ming’s. Thank you for the service, the food, and most importantly-the memories.

This is by far my favorite Chinese food place around. Not only have i been coming here since a kid, my dad and aunt have been coming here for most of their adult lives! My parents come from Saratoga just to come see Amy and eat some delicious food. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

Kind of hidden, drove passed it twice. Parking in back entrance. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were the only one’s there. Hope we were just the pre-dinner or late lunch? The food was tasty, but pricey? I don’t know why some places charge so much, but maybe those are establishments that are not that busy? Host/Waitress or maybe owner was very nice.

Good old school Chinese food, the restaurant is a little out-dated but the food quality and excellent service make up for it. Parking is behind the restaurant and if you miss the driveway you can always turn right at the light to get to their parking lot. You should enter the restaurant from the parking lot since the driveway isn’t so safe to walk through.

So we decided to do Chinese food on a Friday night and since mings is very close, we gave it a try. So before I start, let me say that this place is dingy and grubby, but tell me where a clean Chinese restaurant is at and I’ll take this back. We ordered take out. Mongolian beef(which was ok, gingery), mu shu pork which was basic, snow peas and water chestnuts, rice and egg rolls. We made our plates and almost finished when my gf noticed a big fly in her food. You just have to picture the kitchen saturated with flys all over. I’m never going back there again. Remember it’s your risk.

Very nice and cozy Szechwan Restaurant. Twice cooked pork, as far as I know, is the most famous dish in Szechwan. But it is quite different from the one I had in Szechwan. However it still tastes awesome! The only downside is that it’s not particularly easy to find a parking place. You have to park across the street and walk to the restaurant.

I love the shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg for young, and won ton soup. I always order take out, and the service is fast and friendly.

This was my first time trying this place. I’ve read good reviews on here about it & decided to give it a try. We ordered Kung pao chicken(it tasted good, needs to be more spicy), beef broccoli(I liked it. But it just needed a tad more sauce & beef), sweet & sour pork(I was expecting it to come out in the typical bright red color but it was a cream color, good though. The breasting was perfect, not too much of it), house special fries rice(tasty, much like the fried rice is get someplace else) & house chow mein(it was nice that it wasn’t full of «filler veggies» like a ton of cabbage & junk I don’t care for. This had the perfect balance of veg & meats) Parking is in the back, it’s directly across the street from the Safeway in Irvington. The décor of this place looks like it’s from the 80’s. It’s old. The lights are rather dim(like the scene from the beginning of the Saw movie, the guy in the bathroom.) The woman working here is nice. If you want to use chopsticks, just ask. There’s lunch specials here as well as dinner specials. I was craving a bowl of soup but didn’t want an egg roll.(You have the option to get that for $ 3 more) I decided to skip out since we already had a ton of food coming. Order enough & took the rest home.(They’ll pack it up for you) I’d go back & try out other dishes. Maybe ask if they could spice up the Kung pao just a tad.

Ming’s Szechwan Restaurant is located right on Washington Blvd., but there is no street parking. I wonder how many people have driven by it, not knowing where to park? There is parking in the rear, or you can park in the parking lot across the street. Either way., even if you park in the rear, you still have to walk around to get to this restaurant. After I’ve ordered takeout, it’s your typical Chinese restaurant, with the inconvenient parking. The prices are fair and the food quality is just okay. As of 2013, their lunch specials are $ 6.75 from 11:30am — 2:30pm. Even though the soup is not included for takeout, when the owner found out that I was visiting her restaurant for the 1st time, she gave me some soup to go. She was very nice, but the soup wasn’t that flavorful. The service was great, but when I came here in the heart of the lunch hour, it was empty. FYI., they’re not opened for lunch on Sundays and they’re closed on Mondays. Since the city of Fremont has tons of other Chinese restaurants around, I have found better places to get my Chinese food.

Yuck! I moved from the peninsula over here to Fremont in 2008, and I’ve yet to find some decent Chinese food. This was a last min. whim of hope, as sometimes the hole in the wall places turn out to be a hidden gem. This was not one of them. I got the kung pao shrimp, beef chow mein, chicken fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Rice is ok. Took one bite of chow mein and threw out the entire container. Sweet and sour pork had no sauce and no flavor. Shrimp was maybe 2 stars, but gave one star overall because I’ve never had chow mein that bad. I thought China Chili was bad, but this was way worse. Lady at the front was cute & seemed really sweet, but food was not good.

Tried Ming’s for the first time. It’s not a bad place. I had the house special noodle soup, which came in a nice, gravy-like savory broth. Unfortunately, it is the only soup entrée available on the menu. I’ve been looking for a good traditional Chinese beef noodle wonton soup. Pros: very fair prices, generous portions, flavors better than average. People who run this place are nice. Fast service. cons: a bit simple fare, not super refined.

This is our go-to spot for a quick, cheap chinese food lunch with the office staff. Lunch meals are huge portions and pricing is relatively cheap. Good food and good service. Décor is definitely outdated, but that doesn’t stop us from coming here.

Spent time to search on line for a Chinese restaurant, but this one really disappointed me. The service is really bad, they don’t know how to talk, how to smile. The food is so crappy, cheap looking but not cheap, this is definitely not Chinese food. I will never go back again, strongly not recommend.

Service was okay. Food was very bland. the Chicken chow mein was bland, and oily. It had nothing but noodles and chicken. im used to some veggies in the chow mein. I had to salt and pepper all the food to add some kind of flavor. The soup was good, and made fresh. But i will probably not go back. I will not recommend this restaurant either

Wow. The reviews for this restaurant seem to be for a restaurant that no longer exist. The place is uninviting, tired and dirty. The food is just awful. The beef in the Broccoli beef was tough and inedible. Greasy, vegetable chow mien with almost no vegetables. Mixed Fried rice that didn’t seem at all fresh and again funky crappy quality beef. Will throw away the leftovers. In short. Greasy, bland, low quality, not cheap, crap.

Truth be told, I don’t eat Chinese cuisine very often. Maybe once a month. But, when I do order Chinese food I get Mings. My family and I have been going to Mings for our Chinese food cravings for years now. Their food is VERY good! Upon entering the restaurant, you feel the authenticity flowing through the walls. You’re magically transported to a time before evil places like Panda Express existed. This place is as «Mom & Pop» as it gets. You“ll be greeted by a very nice and gracious lady who will be your host. If I was Chinese, I’d wish she was my grandma. Now, if there’s one Asian food I love it’s POTSTICKERS! And at Mings they are amazing. I get them every single time. As far as their other dishes go, they’re all very good. I like getting the mushu shrimp/chicken or Kung pao chicken. I have zero complaints about Mings. I always order take-out and they are super reliable and my food is always ready on time. Mings: My little go-to Chinese place.

Called in to order take out for dinner at home. They let us know it was going to be ~25 minutes. To find the back parking is kind of strange because the entrance from the street Washington was REALLY narrow and easy to miss– like an alley way. But we just went in from the back. We got there later than 25 minutes but still had to wait because the kitchen was backed up. I snuck a peek in and it just looked like a small typical family style Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy, wouldn’t really want to stay for the atmosphere. FOOD: Kung Pao Chicken: Fell pretty short. It was cooked nicely with a nice texture but the flavor of the sauce wasn’t as good as I expected. I especially didn’t like the taste of the veggies. WEIRDLY enough, I thought the left overs in the morning tasted REALLY good, better than the day before. odd. Shrimp with Cashews: The vegetable on this dish had good taste and sauce. Really liked the cashews– Realized how newb I was with Chinese food because what I really meant to order was Shrimp with Walnuts with a more creamy(yes, fatty) sauce. I’m going to come back and try the Shrimp with Walnuts. Even though it wasn’t perfect, it was still pretty ok. Good portions because 2 dishes(~$ 20) fed a family of 4 with leftovers. Take out all the way because the décor left much to be desired.

Great food for the price. You get a lot of good Chinese food for a bargain. Probably best in this area around Washington and Grimmer. All the spicy dishes here are good. More like 3.5 stars.
