My wife and I go often and enjoy the atmosphere and the owner is on the floor making sure all is well. Love this place.

This is one of the businesses tucked back in the sprawling business park off of 3. We were curious about this place for a while and decided to check it out. The bar is one big, dark room with a ton of TVs, which was handy for college football, as they had a ton of different games on. OK selection of beers, and the buffalo chicken bites appetizer was great! Unfortunately, the sliders were really disappointing, like they used low-quality frozen beef for them. I would come back here, good place to watch football. I wouldn’t come back here just to eat, though.

Went twice for lunch. Food is decent. Not great, but definitely edible. Hamburger was a tad too seared and a tad too salty, but good. Salads that others had looked good and they said they were. Service a bit slow. Place has potential and I will return to try different things.

We went to The Local for brunch on Father’s Day. We were there right when they opened with a big party: 12 adults and 2 toddlers. We were the only ones there! The service was good, as was the food. Generous portions, the menu was more breakfast than brunch, and they offer mimosas and a make it yourself Bloody Mary bar. They brought glasses with ice and vodka and you then made your own drink with choice of spicy or not mixer and garnishes. As mentioned before, it’s kinda in a funky location off of Rt 3, but wasn’t difficult to find. Overall, a good experience and we would go again.

Went to see dueling pianos. Went an hour early to eat. Place wasn’t crowded but Took forever to get a server. Had to ask for menu’s. Once served, food was good. The place seemed a bit run down for a newly opened place. Had a leaking roof and hadn’t been raining. And once the dueling pianos started the TV’s near the stage should have turned off.

My wife and I decided to try out The Local last night(2÷26÷2015) on Dueling Piano night which occurs to the best of my knowledge every Thursday night. A cover charge exists for this event, but was waived last night due to the weather in the Fredericksburg area and it sure seemed to bring out a rather large crowd into the establishment. Let me start by saying that if you didn’t know right off hand where this location is you might find yourself meandering around parking lot after parking lot which some feed into the establishment and some lead to dead ends or empty storefronts. I’ve been back in that area before it was The Local so I had little trouble finding the spot. When walking in(either side of the building has entrances clearly marked) was greeted by a clean, well appointed neighborhood bar and grill which is what I expected. Nothing over the top or extravagant, just kind of felt«Local» as the name implies. I quickly asked a server who was delivering drinks do we «seat ourselves» and she indicated yes. I would suggest signage at both entrances to indicate that, as we had never been we weren’t quite sure. Proceeded to take a small table near the bar, in direct sight line to the Dueling Piano stage which sits at the front of the room on a rather sizable stage. I would assume The Local could host larger sized musical acts if they wanted. Our server quickly came over and informed us of Happy Hour specials and appetizer specials and recommended food choices which was very helpful. I ordered a Miller draft, and my wife had amaretto sour, which her being a cocktail snob she quickly mentioned it was made very well with just the right contents. To satisfy our very limited palette, we ordered bacon cheese fries, they came out quickly and maybe next time will try adding the chili, because there will be a next time. After a while the Dueling Piano act started promptly at 8:00. Employees were putting little slips of white paper on the tables for customers to write down their song requests during the show. The show was lively, and upbeat and almost everyone I saw seemed to be really enjoying themselves. There was a lot of crowd participation as the evening went on and it was a very interesting act. My only complaint, and it is somewhat minor is the PA or sound system the piano guys used made it very hard to understand what they were saying from time to time. We ordered a burger to share since we had polished off an order of the aforementioned bacon cheese fries. Burger was delivered and was as advertised, a homemade patty which had great flavor and was cooked to our specification. I would place their burger in my top 5 in the Fredericksburg area. Overall it was a very good first impression, the place was packed and busy throughout our visit so I’ll chalk up the slow drink delivery times to that, I’m sure it was a much bigger crowd that was expected due to the waiving of the cover charge for the night. The Local seems to have hit on a good combination of a simple menu and trying to do the little things right instead of underperforming by trying to overcomplicate a grill /bar concept. We will for sure return and see what else they have to offer.

Great food, drinks, entertainment, clientele… A great place for a fun date. Dueling Pianos on Thursdays… So much fun! The french fries are really very good. My BLT was average and my husband had a very good shroom burger. Nice people, waitresses and bartenders.
