This is the place to eat yummy AND healthy. Everything is organic. I had the chicken shawarma and the flavor was to die for. Then I topped it off with a baklava. I think of baklava as a decadent indulgence. It’s usually gooey and running with cloying honey. This baklava wasn’t dripping, just full of flavor. I almost felt like I could taste the freshness of the honey and nuts. Try it — you’ll love it.

Awesome stop for lunch! The staff is very friendly and the food is exceptional. The gyro, souvlaki, and grape leaves are my personal favorites.

Tonight I landed here while looking for some spices, and was happy to see they are open in the evening! Their homemade pastries are outstanding, and made fresh twice day. Mohamed helped me find the things I couldn’t locate, and was very kind. When I asked about a local Indian grocery, he was able to tell me of one. I will be back! I would love to try some more of the food they cook themselves. I went there looking for spices, and left with a new favorite food!

Try the Chicken Shawarma wrap! I learned about these when I was overseas, if you’ve been in the military, and ever been deployed to the Gulf area, you know what a shawarma is and If you don’t know; it’s a lot like a gyro, but with a middle eastern flavor that is a little piece of heaven. Good stuff! Definitely will go back again! Picked up some Middle Eastern spices you just can’t find anywhere else except online, and even some frozen kabaobs. Fair prices, good food, friendly owner!

Small store serving a niche market of middle eastern clients. Although I’m not middle eastern, I love the food and the people. The Nile Market has a lot of items that are not found in the larger stores. I especially like their spice and tea sections. Looking forward to trying their on-premises butcher shop for lamb and goat this spring.

Nile Market adds some much needed variety to the strip mall undergrowth peppering this area of Route 3. There are three parts to this market: the butcher, the dry goods, and the miscellany. The butcher part has all kinds of halal meats, cut the way you want it. This includes lamb livers for your sultan rice. We were able to purchase an entire lamb leg here for our Biram meal. The dry goods section has imported foods from the Arabic world including pine nuts, jams, olives, bulgar and unleavened bread. There are also many Mediterranean choices such as Turkish delights and some Greek cheeses. The miscellaneous stuff includes papyrus papers with Koran calligraphy and other designs, candies, and tea accessories. The prices are pretty high, but consider the the difficulty finding this kind of food around Fredericksburg and you’ll understand.
