This is one of my favorite places in town, and probably my favorite Chinese place I’ve ever been to. I’ve never had poor service here, and I’ve been going for years. The owners are wonderful and friendly, and I always look forward to getting to chat a bit if the restaurant isn’t too busy. I’m a vegetarian, and I happened to see a review on here that says there are few vegetarian options. Not true! The buffet is somewhat limited if you don’t eat meat, but the rest of the menu is fantastic. My non-vegetarian boyfriend loves the fried bean curd, and orders it often. They will add bean curd to vegetable dishes for a very small fee. There’s also a menu of faux meat dishes. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of the mock beef, but I LOVE the mock sesame chicken! My go-to dish is the broccoli with garlic/ginger sauce and added fried bean curd – actually just ordered some to have for tonight and tomorrow morning. Once, I ordered a vegetarian dish for myself, and an order of crab rangoon to take home to my roommate. The waitress made sure I knew that the crab rangoons weren’t vegetarian, which really showed me that they care about their customers. I have a lot of friends from out of town, and every time they come to visit most of them ask to come here for dinner at least once during their visit. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We ordered their Mongolian beef and General Tso’s chicken tonight. Everything was great as always! If you’ve had Mongolian beef at other places you need to get it here so you can see the huge difference. The egg rolls we’re great also. We never have a bad thing to say about this place. The lunch buffet is small, but it’s Gormet, so it’s worth it!

If you are a chicken lover, than go right ahead, but if you are a vegetarian, not great choices here. There is only one vegetarian protein option of egg foo young. The egg rolls and spring rolls are put in the same warming bin. There are not a lot of vegetable side dishes either. The oranges look fresh, but the rest of the fruit looks canned. The brownies for desert look like little Debbie brownies that were unwrapped and cut.

I will NEVER order from this restaurant again. I have ordered from them before because the food is decent and they’re very close to my house. However, tonight I ordered Chow mein, which apparently everywhere but their restaurant is for a fried noodle. They brought me some soggy noodles with vegetables. I called to tell them this is not what I ordered or wanted. They told me I could bring it back to exchange. I told them I ordered delivery and paid for it, because I don’t want to leave the house, how does that make sense? They will never see another dime of my money again.

This place is hit or miss. If I could I would give them a 2.5. We have ordered from this restaurant a few times and they are either a good one or bad one. This time we ordered delivery. The food arrived in a decent amount of time. But the order was wrong. Instead of calling them back since it was a dish we could deal with eating I let it go. The meal was not even hot– it was lukewarm at best. This is a problem with an easy fix though just microwave it. Still an inconvenient incident. The lunch plates were so skimpy I couldn’t believe it. Overall we were not satisfied this time. We might give them another shot but with the issues it may not be worth it.

The shrimp Lo mein is my favorite. Also to the impatient people: Good food takes time. If you want over cooked rushed food, I suggest any other Chinese restaurant except this one. We order here every weekend as our night off from cooking. My husband gets several different things and is a picky eater. I also highly recommend the crab Rangoon with duck sauce. Sooo good.

«Your food be ready in 20 minute» — always the same lie. I’ve sat there in the restaurant waiting to pick up my food and listened to them tell the same lie. You’d think that they’d offer a round egg rolls to the customers that they mislead but they don’t. For such bad service you’d think that the food would be awesome… But it’s not! Rubberized meat is just not my thing.

Came here looking for cheap Chinese buffet. Thats exactly what we found. While the service was mediocre at best, the food was barely hot. Small buffet area with not many choices, bland chicken nuggets, & cold, thick egg drop soup. Spend the extra few dollars and goto Hibachi buffet in central park.

Went here because of the reviews. My nephew loves Chinese and wanted a lunch buffet. This is one time I regret letting Unilocal be my help. The food was old, dry and not with eating. When they did bring a bowl of fresh egg drop soup, it was bland. According to other reviews there were a lot of vegetarian choices on the buffet… not so. The service itself was ok. I will not go back because there are to many places that are better.

Tonite I ordered Egg Foo Yung, combination meat. I was so disappointed. There were HUGE hunks(like 1″ X 1 ½″) of meat in it. I’m used to smaller bits of all different meats and lots of the egg mixture. Also, it was almost all chicken. Then beef. Then a teeny bit of shrimp. No pork. The chicken was so dry, I’m sure it was freeze-dried. It’s the same thing I’ve started to notice in some frozen dinner meals, and in ANY Campbell’s chicken soup. Besides the fact that the texture is a real turn-off, it tastes like all the flavor has been sucked out of it. My cat’s food looks and smells more appetizing. Unless they can refine the dish, cutting down the size of meat, and start using fresh ingredients, I will never go back there. Why can’t a Chinese Restaurant use fresh chicken?

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» That really does sum of my experience there. I went once for the lunch buffet, and while it ok, there’s not much more to say about it than that. There are plenty of other places to go for better Chinese.

I tried this restaurant tonight based on the review of Kelly K. She’s right: the mock sesame chicken was wonderful! So was the fried rice with mock chicken and beef. The texture of the fake meat was so real! The menu has special section that lists 10 mock-meat dishes. I’m looking forward to trying the mock szechuan beef next, since the beef in the fried rice had such a great texture. For vegetarians who are tired of ordering the same old thing at chinese restaurants, you’ll love this! You can drag along your meat-eating friends; my carnivorous husband and kids enjoyed the buffet.

We were so lucky that my husband read about this place online. This Chinese restaurant has an AWESOME veggie section that INCLUDES fake meat! Yay! Oh, and hello people, they DELIVER! Sunflower never did that! We ate here probably about 3 times the first week after we moved to Fredericksburg. I highly recommend the Mock Sesame Chicken. I took my first bite and was just so happy! How sad is that? I have also tried the Mock Chicken with Broccoli. It was ok. It was a little on the bland side. I have also ventured off the special veggie menu and tried the vegetable egg foo young. Eh. Again, a little bland. For appetizers, you can’t go wrong with the Mock Chicken nuggets. Dip them in some Chinese mustard. And they tell us that they can make their Egg Drop Soup vegetarian. We have ordered it a couple of times, and it’s very tasty. I hope they aren’t lying to us! My husband raves about the Mock General Tso’s Chicken and the Mock House Special Lo Mein(which has mock chicken, beef, and ham). It MUST be good, because my 13-month old baby stuffed his face with it. We were truly lucky to have found this place. Oh, and it looks like nothing is over about $ 8. Nice!
