This place tried too hard. Really enjoyed it when it first opened — then the menu became pricey and pretentious. Too bad. CLOSED. A message from the proprietors: «It is with great regret that we must inform you that Tastings has permanently closed for business effective immediately. The combination of a weak economy, high and persistent unemployment, and high staff turnover has led us to this difficult decision. We hope you have enjoyed having Tastings be a part of the local dining scene over the past 6 years and wish you all the best. Thank you for your loyal patronage and we regret any inconvenience our closing may cause.»

I went to Tastings to top off a great girl’s night. Fell in love with the Carolina chicken flat bread pizza and the Carolina bread pudding with homemade raisin ice cream. I felt like a country girl enjoying some good old school southern comfort foods. New Chef, New menu, Great experience… I have to mention my virgin mojita was delicious!

This place isn’t even worth paragraphs so here goes. This is the second time I’ve been here. The first time we got free dessert and champagne because our food took too long. Figured we’d give it another shot. This time the $ 12 drink was weak, watery and full of ice. Small plate ordered was gnocchi, comes out as some kind of small pasta in place of it. Waitress told us it wasn’t gnocchi as she served it. Tartare was bland and over powered by seasoning. Entrée for $ 23… Chicken leg, yes 1 leg, smothered in rosemary, 10 green beans, and a half scoop of mashed potatoes. Dry chicken, left much to be desired. Never going back. The local concept is neat but this place does not deliver.

This place is great and is a totally different mood from the rest of Patriot Place. The wine selection is great and the ambiance is great too. The servers know their stuff too. The wines can range in price so keep that in mind. I have gone in here and after a few hours realized I was drinking $ 20 glasses of wine. Ha. The food is great and served correctly and professionally. This is an awesome date spot.

Calamari was dry like sand but lucky for us there were only 8 pieces on the plate. Fish tacos were a cornel of fried fish with cole slaw on top of a piece of lettuce. The chef should be embarrassed by what he is putting out.

I had an outstanding experience at Tastings Wine Bar and Bistro. The wine flights are outstanding. I chose the sweeter white wines and I wasn’t disappointed. The menu is an array of local ingredients coming together. It’s definitely different, but tasty. We did the chef’s tasting. Each course was beautiful in presentation as well as in flavor. Menu can be pricy, but they support our local farms and use all natural/organic ingredients. I will definitely return.

The flight options are great in both selection and value. Food is pretty salty. I would expect a place called«Tastings» to have more tapas-style plates; it was a standard selection of appetizers that included olives(though I’ve never seen a bowl of olives that big!), meats/sausages, and a cheese plate. We didn’t try any of the main entrees as they seemed more individually oriented than what we were looking for. For a glass of wine, I’d go back. For dinner, I’m elsewhere.

I made reservations for a Saturday night at 7pm. Walk in. Table is ready. No wait. The wife ordered a wine flight, which is three different types of white wine. We ordered the Tastings Board, three cheeses, and olives for an appetizer. The Board itself was weak with maybe 4 or 5 slices of cured hams, a dab of really coarse mustard, two terrines, and a few slices of pickles. The cheese plate was three small slivers of tasty cheeses. For $ 45 dollars for the above mentioned appetizers, I’d avoid ordering this. Not that the quality of the product wasn’t good, but the portions were ridiculously small for the price. I ordered the short ribs, which came with a seared cauliflower, wheatberry, and pickled ginger sides. It was great. Delicious. Good portion. Success. The wife ordered steak frites. The steak was too cold. The fries, however, were awesome. The wait staff was very good. Pleasant. Checked in with us often enough. Avoid the really expensive tiny appetizers, and go right for the entrees. Overall, nothing really impressed me to want to visit again anytime soon. Not bad, just so-so. At a total of $ 160 including tip for two people, I expect to be «wowed». I was«meh» at best.

I always enjoy this restaurant, and decided to bring friends this last time. I was concerned since I heard the chef and menu are completely new. We had a wonderful meal, great wine and great service. We started with the calamari, which was prepared perfectly. The stripped bass over spinach was Phenomenal. The seasonal flat bread was hearty and flavorful, but not too crisp. And our friends were very pleased. Congrats to the new chef! We will be back.

Had reservations for my son’s birthday on a busy Saturday night. It was his pick, based on a tasty meal eaten at the bar last year before a show. We will never be back. Maybe the chef was sick, maybe he was on vacation…3 of our 4 entrees were inedible, fish of the day, mac n’ cheese, and homemade gnocchis. The 4th was a burger, an «OK» burger for $ 16. I won’t go into a long rant as to why these dishes were this bad, because they were all removed from our bill, and that was the right thing to do. The service was pleasant, but rare, the wine that was supposed to accompany our meals was brought 20 minutes after the food. The wine flights were the one and only bright spot of the evening, and the wine list is a long and thoughful one. All in all, a big disappointment… we left hungry almost 2 hours after arriving. I say if you can’t execute, close the kitchen.

Went on a Saturday night at 8pm with my girlfriend. Place was packed and am glad we made reservations. Waitress was really good, attentive, and gave us a lot of time explaining about wines and the food. We started with a wine tasting suggested by the waitress, which was good. Also some red sangria she said she really liked and I agree — could taste the cinnamon and not too sweet. Good stuff. For meals we split the Roasted Cauliflower Soup, Roasted Bone Marrow Tart, and Petite Potted Chicken. The soup was great, really flavorful and a good size. Bone Marrow Tart was full of veggies and quite tasty as well. Really happy with both. The server suggested the chicken(suggested duck first — but I’m always disappointed with duck) and it was okay. The root veggies and sauce it was in were really good, but the chicken itself wasn’t all that flavorful. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t worth $ 24 — I’d rather have a roasted chicken from the supermarket. So, overall, great service, nice place, good drinks, and good food — just gotta order the right things

Tastings is conveniently located just up the stairs from the entrance/exit to Gillette Stadium, which made it an easy choice for us when we were starving and cold after the game. It was a good choice for a post game meal. we split the beer battered chicken sandwich and the fish of the day(cod). But were good and satisfying, but nothing so special that they would make me come back specifically to eat here. It’s also a bit pricey, which was fine for us given the convenience factor(we were not getting out of the parking lot and to anywhere else to eat any time soon). Tastings is a good post game choice if you are okay with paying a little bit more, but otherwise I’d choose to dine somewhere else for the price.

The food is OK, but it’s just so, so overpriced for the portions, and it’s REALLY loud for a ‘classy’ bistro. +The calamari with pistachio crust was great -…but there was just SO little of it. Like an unreasonably small amount. If you’re rich, though, live it up and head over! The food here is definitely the best of the options at Patriot’s Place.

I’ve frequented Tastings quite a few times and with each experience I have become less and less enthused. Location, décor and atmosphere are 5 stars, however food, service and such seem to be decreasing. My first complaint about my last trip was that we walked in on a saturday night at 5:30(not rush hour) and were told we could not get a table because we did not make a reservation, that all tables were going to be filled within the hour with customers who had made reservations. I looked around, basically every table was open — so every table was going to be filled within the hour? I think not. Now lets bring in my friend«Open table». Pop up the app, search«Tastings»… bam!!! Reservation for 4 in 20 minutes. and back in we go. Menu changes frequently and this visit left much to be desired. I ordered the chicken, which at a costly price was not plentiful. The chicken was good, as was the accompanying sides, just not overly filling. I think Tastings has moved down a bit on my favorites list, menu, food and service are just no longer 5 star in my book.

My husband and I were excited to finally try this place(without kids) to celebrate our anniversary. We’ve been looking in its direction for a few years as we tended towards the more kid-friendly restaurants at Patriots Place, so last night was the night we finally broke free! Having never been inside my impressions of the décor were favorable — there was a wine room to the right of the entrance, table seating in the middle, and a bar on the left. There was also a nice, outdoor, covered patio that we attempted, but it was too windy so we went back inside. The bartender was extremely friendly but the waiter had a touch of attitude. Most waiters will ask if you’ve ever been to their restaurant and if not provide a brief explanation of how things ‘work’. At most restaurants this is unnecessary, but makes you feel welcome. Here, nothing. At a restaurant that specializes in tastings it would have been nice to understand how most people navigate the menu. The left column was small plates, the middle column highlighted various tastings menus you could choose from, and the right side was main courses. My husband opted for the full tastings, so I ordered a salad, appetizer and main course to be melded in with his meal timing-wise. We each ordered a flight for drinks — me wine, him whiskey. The bread they brought(only after our first course was finished, which I found odd) was one of the highlights. My salad was nice, calamari was good but a the sauce was a bit too strong, and my chicken dish was fabulous. Crème brûlée finished out the night. So, all in all, my summary would be overpriced, but not bad. Something new and different not to be tried again soon. Oh and fear not if you feel you are under-dressed. While we were dressed nicely, the NE Revolution game let out while we were there and most of our fellow diners were in soccer jerseys and shorts…

I was headed to Foxboro on a Friday night after work, and Greg and I obviously wanted to eat out. I found something on for a good deal here, and I thought it was a great idea considering we normally always go to the same place. Sometimes changing up routine is a good thing! The restaurat is a small alcove at the end of Patriots place, that must be great location for the football games! The inside reminds me of a wine cellar and is extremely romantic and intimate. Greg and i had a reservation for 8:00, and got there 30 minutes early and they seated us right away. Greg was a little confused/dissapointed that the menu was so limited. I think he expects everywhere to always be like the cheesecake factory with a 32 page menu. I told him that in my opinion, a limited menu means the chef is really good because he has perfected those dishes. Greg got the mac and cheese and the«french onion soup»(i will explain the quotations later) from the appetizer menu, and I got the fish of the day(it wasn’t cod but something similar to it). His french onion soup however, was a purée of it. It looked like babyfood, and Greg said it tasted weird, since normally french onion soup is all about the texture. The mac and cheese was really good but extremely small portion– It would not of been good as an appetizer because there would have been nothing to share. My fish was excellent. I got the sangria and Greg got an italian beer. My sangria tasted like there was no alcohol in it, and I really don’t think there was(I didn’t feel ANYTHING and i am a lightweight). But the juice of the sangria was good– I just wish there was alcohol in it! Our meal went by really fast– I am not sure I would go back with Greg but I definitely would go for a girls night out and to do some wine tasting!

I have to agree with Christopher M. tastings is a jewel! It does not belong in the sprawling mall of Patriots Place. Tastings is a «wine bar» which serves locally sourced farm to table fare. We started with ranch and bone marrow popcorn from Schartner Farms and Point Judith Calamari which was served with a very interesting tarragon-pistaschio sauce. Both items were so different from anything we have ever tried, the bone marrow gave the popcorn great umami. Then the hubs had the Brambley Farms Pork, the cut of the day was a loin served with bacon. I don’t mean strips of bacon ala your local market I mean real braised BACON. Oh my word. I had the Crystal Farms Chicken which was roasted yet was still juicy and filled with a wonderful lemon aroma. When we left Tastings we both agreed that it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had! It was that good!

Right by Gillette Stadium and a good spot for pre and post-game food & drink. My bro and I came for a quick lunch before kickoff and split some Wellfleet Fried Clams and Black Truffle Mac & Cheese. The clams were nicely fried and had great flavor, but the mac & cheese left much to be desired… totally bland and pretty darn deficient on the cheese. Looking on the bright side, it was probably the healthiest mac & cheese I’ve ever had ;) Beer selection was solid and the place had some good bombers to choose from. Service lagged a bit, but our waitress was very nice.
