Wow back again. Had the famous Chicken Pot pie. Yummy. When the waitress tells ya it hot… It’s hot!!! yikes hot chicken! Everything was delicious. We took up two tables 6 of us. We had breakfasts, pot pies and meatloaf! Mmm Mmm good! Well Sunday today. Came in around 11, parking lot full but was seated right away! I had French toast, bacon, poached eggs(a bit hard today) and hash browns. Bf had pot roast for brunch. It was delicious. He gave me a taste. I sort of expected it to be a bit busier but must be late risers around here! Till next time. Thanx Dixie House!

Damn good food. Everything is homemade and delicious. The waitstaff is like a collection of kooky old aunts and they treat you like an old family friend from the moment you walk through the door. My lady and I love coming here for a home cooked breakfast on weekends before coming home for a late morning nap. :)

Meatloaf was the best. Loved the okra, and the cucumber salad. Coconut pie also some of the best I’ve ever had.

Have always loved Dixie House — never understood why other locations couldn’t make it. Brought a Newbie today for lunch and had some unfortunate hiccups preventing a 5 star. 1. Fries served with grilled chicken sandwich were limp. Limp, limp, limp. 2. Cabbage had TONS of black pepper; mac & cheese had none. 3. Yeast roll was dry; edible but not like others I’ve had in the past at this location. 4. Drink refills… well, thank goodness there was a water pitcher opposite our seat. 5. Waitress who took our order seemed impatient that my Newbie had to make a decision on her meal. Will try again in the future, but not with a Newbie, because I was embarrassed to have asked her to spend $ 9.45 on a chicken sandwich with limp fries and no water refills. I had really touted what a great meal it would be…

I guess I’m not a fan of traditional home-style cookin’ –even though I am a «Texan.» I can’t say anything bad about this restauraunt! The staff is super sweetand attentive and the food is rich in every way. I came in on a Wednesday for a pot pie, but they had just sold out. However, I did order their Monster Fries and they did not disappoint! Their chili is very authentic and their fries are great– perfect potato French Fries! My mom ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and that breading was perfect! Don’t forget dessert! Their pies are worth trying there and getting one to go!

The food is so good you won’t want to stop until you physically hurt yourself, then have to fast for the next 3 months until you’re ready again. HUGE portions for the prices. You will not regret this!

I think I may be in a food coma for the rest of my life after my breakfast here this morning. My friend and I split three items for breakfast… correction, we attempted to split three items for breakfast. We couldn’t even finish two, let alone even look at the third. We had the cinnamon roll(huge, delicious, sweet, buttery, overall goodness), the Dixie House scramble(best breakfast dish I’ve EVER had at a diner), and ordered pancakeds(now sitting in my fridge because there wasn’t any rooms in our tummies to even think about eating them. I loved it all. The service was top notch. The coffee was delicious, too. I can’t wait to bring my husband back here. It will definitely be a new go-to breakfast joint for us. If you’re in or around Fort Worth, make sure to check this place out!

Down home cooked meatloaf with okra and fresh yeast rolls and a big a$$ sweet tea with a homemade cinnamon roll the size of a VW bus. First off Theresa is the sweetest and kindest person in the world. My family has laughed, cried and prayed with her. We meet my parents here a lot on the evenings because my little girl doesn’t get ugly looks for being a toddler and we don’t have to fight crowds. The cooking feels just like mama made it. The meatloaf has a tastey ketchup based sauce and is cooked just right but not dry. The yeast rolls are like AWWMAGAWW good. Big ol sweet tea that is FRESH is hard to find. But the cinnamon rolls. Just. Try. It. Better than Ginger Browns. And tell them I sent you.

Love the meatloaf! Wait staff works hard to take care of you. Don’t miss the strawberry banana cake on the way out. Only disappointment is they stopped taking American express.

I came in for breakfast and had the Dixie House Scramble, which was basically biscuit, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash brown smothered with gravy. When I say smothered, I meant it was flooded with gravy. Unfortunately, not only was the appearance unappetizing to me, but the overall combination of ingredients was just too much to fully enjoy. As for as the restaurant, the service was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had the usual laid back southern style décor to it. I see myself going here only if I happened to be in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

I am a regular here. I order the Turkey & Dressing ! Nothing like it! Awesome! The rolls are fabulous as well. One thing you might not normally think of as a treat: green beans! Yummy. That’s all I can say. Tips are shared, put them in the jar at the register.

Total greasy spoon and I love it. This last visit I came for breakfast and it was great. I did the 7.15 $ special with eggs, sausage hash browns and of course a biscuit. Very large portions for a reasonable price. The food comes out fast. The biscuit is the best thing I have had here– it comes with a side of gravy. Large, flaky, warm and buttery. My little brother and the boyfriend has chicken fried steak and eggs. I tried some of that– very nice! We left fat and happy and it didn’t cost me too much! I’ll be back.

Walked out after three or four different waitstaff walked by at least once if not two or three times with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Not even a «he/she will be right with you» or «good morning». Believe me, I am a very forgiving customer but that is not the way to make a good impression on me. Will not go back.
