Great food but sub par service. They made very basic mistakes in terms of food service: The servers assistant(yes the assistant) couldn’t keep my glass of water full, it took 20 minutes for the dessert to arrive, server was not personable, the fastest service we got was when I was asked if we needed change on the bill! Even the seating arrangements were odd, as they would sit other couples adjacent to us in a seemingly empty restaurant? I could hear the conversations with both tables next to us– even hearing the waiter apologizing for the delay and comp the dessert of an older couple due to what… Slow service(delayed salads)! But, nothing for us even though we had similar issues. Overall, it seems as though you have to sacrifice good service for delicious(but untimely) food. Will not be going back.

For years I wanted to eat here. I wish it had been a more positive experience. What a dissapointment. The steak was cooked fine but the seasoning wasnt for me. I ordered a salad that was suppose to have dried cherries in it. It did. 3. The bread had no taste and they should be embarrassed to serve it. The french fries were shoestring ff but were cooked so hard it was like eating those shoestring potatoes out of can. The asparagus was so limp and tough you couldn’t cut it. My meal came with a free dessert but based on what we had, I didn’t have any desire to try anything else so we declined. This is the worst review I’ve ever given on Unilocal but it is so expensive to eat here, I just think people should know. At least, they shouldn’t go on Monday.

If you are going to go to Ruth Chris I suggest you find another town to do it in. This one sucks. We had a very special night planned and had reservations at 830pm. We arrived on time and Brenda(the snotty hostess along with her«Lurch» of an assistant — tall younger long haired girl who if she said a word or smile you swear her face would crack — miserable way to be greeted). They said«We have checked you in please go wait at the bar and we will get you». We assumed that might be 5 mins considering we had reservations. After 40 mins and 2 drinks a piece totaling nearly 70 bucks we left. On the way out I asked Brenda what happened and she said«we just get busy — so sorry». She also said something about new owners or management causing issues that affect service. I live in LA and eat that Ruth Chris in Beverly Hills — I get great service and nice welcoming smiles. These two women were putting on this big attitude as if we were in some high end celebrity restaurant. I guess for Fort Worth this is it for them — it was really laughable. Don’t recommend to anyone.

In two words, the food is sizzling and delicious. A bit pricy, but worth it! For three of us, it was 176.00 before taxes. Beautiful view of downtown Fort Worth. Lovely ambience with excellent customer service. Manager walked around to make sure everyone was comfortable. Waiter Jacob was a jewel. Can’t wait to go back!!! I got the stuffed chicken. Loved it. Others got the petite filet mignon. Cooked perfectly.

Probably worst bake potato I have ever been served at a restaurant… lobster tail over cooked, steak not better than what I could do myself … Waiter not friendly, atmosphere not good because had a 14 month old baby at table next to us watching cartoons on an iPad… basically not sure I would ever go back to blow $ 300 on a Friday night here…

Horrible! We booked our reso a week ago for 8pm and then they call us at 6:45 pm to tell us they close early and that their kitchen closes at 8pm. FYI I called at 3 ish to confirm and asked for roses because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. What disappointment! We’ve celebrated every anniversary there every year but it’s probably time to break from tradition. Thanks Ruth, just horriable! That’s ok, Capital Grill took our reso…

I have to be honest, my first experience here was a1 … The food. The service, the drinks and our waitress was awesome … However today was a different story! We had a reservation that was not met!!! We waited, and waited and waited!!! Its now 10:30pm and were just leaving there, as hard working and very busy parents we thought this would be our perfect getaway for a date night bt NO, everything sucked! The meat was burned not well done, the shrimp was tasteless, the mashed potatoes were watery our bread even got hard before we could finish it, and stupid me bragged and bragged about this place about how awesome it was and now I have to unbrag, how DOESONEUNBRAG ??? Tell me RUTHCHRIS!!! Either way, I was very mad that we had the experince we had tonight. Ruined my date now now im goin home to sleep because its soooo LATE!!!

The food was heavenly. The porterhouse for two was phenomenal. Somehow, the steak here was better than the Ruth’s Chris in addison. Maybe it’s because they’re a stone’s throw from the stockyards. Regardless, everything was fantastic!(Except the hefty price) Highly recommended!

We arrived to wait at the front for over ten minutes. A restaurant like this should always have at least two hostesses not one. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The lobster bisque here is below average(pretty bland for my taste). I had the petite ribeye and it was quite a disappointment. it was over seasoned along with the sides. The crème brûlée was probably the best thing on the menu. I was probably here on a bad day. However, I would love to give this place another try because our server was very polite.

As good as it gets… Especially for a special occasion. In this case Christmas Eve. Off the menu special… Twin lobster tails and a filet. Can’t beat it. Oh wait, they just did… White chocolate bread pudding. Only one complaint prevented that last star… Usually at a nice steak house, the service goes over the top. When I went to the rest room, I would have expected that my napkin would have been re-folded, waiting for me. Also, typically, between courses, I’d expect the bread crumbs swept up off the table by a waiter with a nifty bread crumb straight edge. Maybe I’m being picky, but something I noticed at other similar steak houses.

Yes, it really is that good! So Thuy and I had a bit of a deal. We recently bought a new car from Autobahn Volvo of Fort Worth, and they gave us a gift certificate for a «free» dinner at Ruth’s Chris(max value $ 50, it didn’t go far). Coupled with Thuy’s December birthday, it was the perfect time to use it(that and it was expiring soon). I was surprised to actually learn the name is Ruth’s Chris, not Ruth Chris, or Ruth Chris’. I wondered why. If you’d like to learn the reason, wikipedia has it buttoned up — (wish Unilocal allowed better options for links, oh well). Thuy & I don’t have huge appetites, so we were a little nervous about the concept of proteins are one choice, sides are another. As we looked over the menu, trying to figure out how not to over order, our eyes landed on the RUTH’S CLASSICSDINNER( ). It’s basically a «prix fixe» menu, with less choices, and a bit of a savings I think(calories and money). It certainly made the decision process easier. There are six protein options, for between $ 45 and about $ 55(based on protein choice), you get to choose a starter(Apple, Walnut & Blue Cheese Salad, White Bean & Chorizo Soup, Caesar Salad or Steak House Salad), an entrée(6 oz. Filet and Shrimp, Stuffed Chicken Breast, Chef’s Fresh Fish Selection, Pan Roasted Center-Cut Swordfish, Filet Ribeye12 oz., or Ribeye16 oz.($ 4 upcharge)) and a «personal» side(Southwestern Mac n Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, or Creamed Spinach), and a desert(Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake with Cranberry-Pecan Bark). We both started with the salad and both agreed it was fantastic. Cold, crisp, and generous. Thuy had the 6 oz filet and shrimp. I had the 12 oz ribeye. Both were ordered medium rare, and that’s exactly how they arrived. So nice to see the steak cooked the way it was requested. Both very tasty. Both very tender. For sides we went potatoes and spinach. It was not a giant portion, but it was plenty for us. In fact we had leftovers of everything, including desert. For desert I went with the only option, the cheesecake. Thuy, a devote fan of bread pudding, upgraded to a Bread Pudding with Chambord Sauce. Both desserts were very good, and a nice compliment to each other. It was a wonderful place for a special someone’s birthday. Just a few more things worth mentioning: Our server, Juan, was fantastic. Attentive, but not intrusive. Very helpful with the menu too, as it was our first time here. There is an extensive wine menu, with a very good selection of «by the glass» options. Since Thuy does not drink, this was perfect for me. Bottom line: A dining experience completely worthy of my five star rating!

Had a wonderful dinner experience with my wife and daughter here last night. It was crazy busy and we actually requested to dine in the bar area. Maybe a bit louder, but also more entertaining… LOL First, the parking is atrocious, so we ended up parking in the AMC garage and walking, which is no big deal to me because downtown Ft Worth is a thing of beauty. But if you don’t like to walk, you’ll have to be patient when trying to park or valet around the restaurant. Anyway, we get inside and it’s, of course, very nice and the place is jumping. We were seated immediately and Ryan, our Bartender/Server/Guest Family Member(you get the idea), takes our drink order and then the manager, James, checks on us and we talk about parking issues. Mind you, we were not complaining as we understand they’re extremely busy, but James assures us that they’re addressing the issue and bought us a couple of appetizers for our trouble. Not that we felt it was an issue, but that’s the kind of professional customer service that is provided by everybody at this restaurant. Ryan brought out our our perfectly fashioned drinks and got our appetizers of Seared Ahi and Veal Ravioli on the way. They were both absolutely awesome! For entrée’s, my wife chose the Filet(medium) and my daughter and I shared the Porterhouse for Two(medium rare). The Porterhouse’s presentation was pulled off in dramatic fashion by Luis. He checked wind conditions, propped up plate accordingly and set down on the table. It’s a kind of big production to get this steak, but it’s worth it. They have it pre-cut with the bone on the plate and each customer gets a slice from the filet side and one from the strip side. Both the Porterhouse and my wife’s Filet were cooked perfectly and presented on 500 degree plates. OUTSTANDING! For sides, we got the Au-Gratin Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, and the Cremini Mushrooms(a must!). My wife assured me the potatoes were spot on, but with the mushrooms, asparagus, and the steak, I was headed into a food coma and loving every minute of it. I would bet that their desserts are unbelievable as well, but I was so full that if I ate anymore, they’d have to call in a moving truck. I highly recommend this Ruth’s Chris and dining in the bar is a great/fun experience. Just ask for Ryan or Sabrina and they’ll take great care of you. If you dine in the dining room, ask for Tyler! Great people serving great food!

There is so so much to love about Ruth’s Chris Steak House it’s going to be difficult not to write a novel. Sadly I’ve only indulged my newest love less than 6x but in that short window — Ruth’s is now my fave carnivore house of tummy bliss. Every bite of anything served has angels singing in my head and an enormous smile on my lips. The Chef’s are beef masters. Yeah, it’s pricey, but really(really!) worth it. But if a sizzling ribeye dinner is budget unfriendly, they offer a delicious Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl HH that has a wonderful sampling of signature drinks and delectable bites for $ 7/$ 8 between 430p-7p. They also serve up a kingworthy spread during restaurant week(by far one of the best meals I’ve had at any participating steak house). One of my top ranking RC experiences was their recent Wine of the World’s Dinner held in celebration of 50 years. A 5-course meal paired with some of the most memorable 90-point rated wines I’ve tried. If you see a future wine/dinner combo meal, jump on it! The price tag is nothing compared to the meal served, or the atmosphere and service. I recommend a water diet prior to dinner, you’ll need the room — portions are plentiful and so good you’ll be tempted to lick your plate clean(and maybe your date’s) after each course. I can’t pick a favorite menu item beyond sizzling buttered beef being first, then everything else being second. The appetizers, side items, desserts and drinks have all been great. Also highly recommend celebrating a special occasion or romantic meal at this location too, the staff is very attentive and friendly to help make your eve extra special.

When they say or you read«sizzling steak» here at Ruth’s Chris, take it super literally because these steaks are super sizzling. Dang. You’ll burn yourself on the plates which are heated to 400 – 500 degrees, so watch out. But nothing smells, sounds, looks, or tastes better. Just use 4 of your 5 senses and don’t touch that plate! Beautiful meat cooked to a beautiful medium rare. Mine are typically more on the rare side and I think that’s perfect. The menu is quite costly, but this is a pretty high end steakhouse so that’s to be expected. Delicious classic sides, salads, and desserts. Nothing too crazy or unique on the menu, but when I come to Ruth’s Chris I’m not looking for out-there menu items. I’m looking for a gorgeous steak and fat, buttery potato. I’ve found the hostesses, waiters, and manager to all be extremely kind and attentive. No one has had any issue with my having to eat gluten free. They’ll take really good care of you here(as they should, especially when you’re paying so much). They also offer a variety of special dinners and wine pairing events, so look out for those! Hmmm. The only thing I don’t really like about Ruth’s Chris is saying«Ruth’s Chris» out loud. It’s hard to say! Say it. See? It’s weird. Otherwise all is fabulous.

Ruth’s Chris is guaranteed good steak and great service. That being said there is a abundance of steak houses in downtown, let alone Fort Worth. It is cowtown after all. This is not my number one choice, but I do appreciate the level of service I can expect and quality of food. This is a chain so it’s similar no matter where you go. This location is attached to the Hilton, so if you are not a guest you must pay for valet. I see this as more of a place to go for business dinners, with out of town guests staying in the hotel, etc.

If it wasn’t for the staff at the bar, you could easily pass on this«past its prime» location. Beyond slow food. :30 for a salad. Another :45 for a steak so badly over cooked it was almost funny. Have enjoyed this place for many years, but someone needs to shake up their kitchen. The best steak in the country is directly across the street. But again. The staff was phenomenal.

The lounge area is nice, although the waiters aren’t so attentive in that section. I’ve had the spicy lobster, really unusual flavors, pretty sure they use mayonnaise in the sauce, and it’s also sweet. Did not enjoy it. They make a good steak, simple flavors, cooked well. The sea bass was extremely oily, and it wasn’t seasoned well. I don’t recommend it. The lobster mac tasted like a frozen meal. Lobster was very rubbery, cheese sauce was under seasoned and was unappetizing. We did not eat the lobster mac nor did we eat the sweet potatoes with pecan crust. The sweet potatoes were mushy, tasted like candy almost. I think the best items to get here are the burgers and the steaks. They have a good looking happy hour menu. All in all, this place is a tad overrated. Capital grille, del frisco and bird café are much better. you get more flavor and quality for your buck.

We’ve come here for the last few years, every year, to celebrate my birthday. Each time gets better than the last. Outstanding perfection this time. Can’t wait till next time. Our server Zach was wonderful, offered some nice suggestions that worked out well! Thank you Zach and Ruth’s Chris team for an outstanding birthday dinner.

Why do events in Dallas always have free valet, but all of the nice restaurants in Fort Worth don’t? It’s something I will never understand. Valet here is $ 5, which isn’t much but if I’m spending $ 50+ on a steak(not to mention how much larger the bill is after drinks, apps, and tip), the entire bill being more than $ 300 before tip, why charge me the $ 5 for valet ?! But I digress. I like to compare this to the other steak houses in Fort Worth, especially since Capital Grille is right across the street. Ruth’s Chris is located on the floor level of the Hilton Downtown and hotel guests have an interior entrance for ease. Very convenient when you have coworkers from out of town visiting. I always prefer a modern décor, which you won’t really find in Ruth’s dining area. The bar and some of their wine displays were more modern. The wine display near our table had changing flashing lights so that was strange. But the tables and set up were great, as expected. The lighting isn’t too dark so if you’re looking for a more intimate setting this wouldn’t be it. Capital Grille is significantly darker inside than Ruth’s, which may or may not be a good thing.(Really a mute point for me.) We had two(2) waiters and they were just attentive enough. They were very nice and soft spoken. When you make a reservation they always ask if it is for a special occasion. I specifically told the hostess that it was a business dinner. The waiters then arrive at our table asking if we were celebrating anything special. This of course can easily turn any situation awkward. There probably needs to be more coordination between the hostess(es) and the wait staff. From patronizing other establishments, I know this would not have happened elsewhere. I was surprised that they did not have a black napkin for me as well. Other steak houses, I have observed(possible I may be inferring this incorrectly), leave the«host» of the dinner with a black napkin to indicate to other staff members who to consult regarding XYZ and who to give the check to. Ruth’s could also adopt this protocol. This would have helped my visit as I mistaken-ed the dessert menu as separate checks being passed around the table. I told the waiter it would be together and he had to correct me. You can see how this would also be AWKWARD during a business dinner. I’m not sure if it was just an outlier situation but the bread at my table came out as a loaf, not pre-cut or anything. I thought they were thinly sliced when I went to grab a slice so you can imagine my surprise when I picked up the entire loaf instead. Honestly, I was in it for the butter haha. I had the ribeye(they DOOFFERPETITESIZES) as I like my steak with marbling. I looked over the menu and it didn’t appear to have any dry aged steaks. Of course, that was a SLIGHTDISAPPOINTMENT. I got mine medium rare, how else do you get a steak? Even though the steak was GREAT, it was not my favorite steak in downtown Fort Worth thus far. The plates come our VERYHOT, which I know a lot of restaurants do and say. But I believe Ruth’s plates are heated to 400 degrees. We also had an order of asparagus(good veggie option for a steak dinner), potatoes au gratin(cheesy goodness, family style portion as like all of their sides), and sweet potato casserole(better than I had expected it to be, perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet). No one wanted dessert, so I passed as well… I secretly wanted dessert. Actually that’s not a secret, anyone who knows me knows I like to sample desserts! I actually tried not to compare it to many other steak houses in Fort Worth but I will say this, I do prefer Capital Grille over Ruth’s. I hope my review was helpful to you and that the business will take into account some of my suggestions. Cheers!

You expect superb service and high quality fare when visiting a Ruth’s Chris. My wife and I have been a to a few across the US and this Fort Worth location sort of fits in the middle of overall experience. Located«within» the downtown Fort Worth Hilton(fka the Hotel Texas with great JFK history here), the restaurant can be accessed from the street or the hotel’s interior lobby area. In typical fashion, RCS does not permit baseball caps or shorts of any kind– the large signs on the wall are evidence of this rule. Our server was fantastic. She was attentive, talkative when the time called for it, but gave us our space to enjoy the wine, ambiance and food. I did sort of feel like the tables were crammed together. Although we had a «2 seat» table the tables on both sides of us were no more than 2.5 feet apart. It was very easy to listen in on others’ conversations, which is sort of strange. It made my wife and I subconsciously lower our voices as to keep our talks a bit more private. The white noise was minimal. We both ordered the filet, hers petite and mine the larger cut. She went of the loaded baked potato and I was hungry for the whipped potatoes. The meat was decent– a little over-cooked IMHO, which made things dry. The sides were delicious on both ends of the table(she tried mine and vice versa). We ordered an overpriced bottle of red Cabernet, which was excellent. To top the meal off, we shared an order of crème brûlée, which was fantastic(the fresh berries that accompanied were so damn good). Our visit last just under 2 hours, and we walked out spending just under $ 200. I really wish the filet was a bit more juicy, but I still ate every bite. There are a plethora of downtown steakhouses to choose from and RCS is probably a good choice– but we’ll try something new next time we’re in the mood.
