Just tried to go here for lunch today June 2, 2015 and it was closed. Can’t comment about the food. Doesn’t look like anyone has been here for awhile unless they are on vacation?

Wanted to like this so much. My mom and I had read such good reviews so we came for breakfast. I will say the service was great and very friendly. The menu seemed to have good options. She got a breakfast burrito and I got an omelette. The menu did not list any sides with either but hers came out with fruit and mine came out with potatoes. Ok. Her breakfast burrito was in a really dry tortilla. The eggs in the omelette were also dry and overcooked. We both noticed a weird aftertaste(maybe seasoning?) which was finally cured by going around the corner to Esperanza’s and having conchas and coffee.

I don’t know if we went on an off day or what, since most reviews for this place are good, but both the food and service were terrible. We went on a Sunday at about 2:00pm. We waited so long at the table, without anyone coming by, that we got our own drinks and menus. The service didn’t get any better throughout the whole meal. The chips were old and stale. When I asked for fresh chips, they basically went into the back, heated ours up in the microwave and then reserved them to us. I know this because I took a bite out of the chip and after tasting how stale it was, I put it back in the basket. I got back the same basket with the nasty half eaten chip in it! The food was just as lacking as the service. I will NEVER go to this place again!!!

Breakfast burrito is an exceptional hangover cure. Nice people, good food quality. Place is a little«odd», but I like it. See ya on Friday mornings when I’m in Ft. Worth!

I got 2 street tacos to go while in the hospital district. Spicy shrimp and beef fajita were delish! Salsa was good. tried the red and green. Only reason for not 5 stars is the price. 2.75 per taco for a tiny corn tortillas taco is a lot.

Ok here’s an honest review for this place. I came at lunch and ordered the street tacos in 3 styles. The beef fajita was a 5 star taco but small for 2.50 each. The 2 brisket tacos I’d give 3 stars also at 2.50 each. Rica and beans lands you an additional 2.50. So basicly 10 bucks for lunch for 3 tacos and rice and beans. Overall I’m giving this place 3 stars because portions size is small and price is too high for what you get. Lose a star for that. Lunch specials here also run the in the same price range at 9.95. Chips are served cold and salsa is so so. I’ve been to a lot of mexican restaurants in the metro area and this is far from the top in both quality and value in my book.

I’m so glad I found this little place. A fellow co-worker recommended this place and was pleasantly surprised! First, their regular salsa is made of four different peppers: guajillo, japonese, chile ancho, and arbol. It’s spicy but not hot enough to not enjoy your food with the melody of chiles from their salsa. Have only been able to try their monstrous breakfast burritos that are absolutely delicious and plentiful options. Their flour tortillas are also quite unique, in fact, I’ve never tasted any like them. Growing up in El Paso, it’s hard for me to give props to tortillas because fresh tortillas are just expected. Paco’s have a unique taste, very flavorful and nice and thin!

Super friendly service, simple delicious al pastor tacos, strengthening soups, great tortas. This is not tex-mex. If you’re looking for food bathed in cheese sauce and frialator grease, move on. Def kid friendly. No booze, but you can grab a single from around the corner. A highlight of visiting my relatives in ftw. I’m still thinking about this place two weeks later. Can’t wait to go back!

Let me preface this that I am an east coast gringo. I’ve never been to Mexico and my brief stay in Texas I just ate here and Taco Cabana(I was told to try the«gay taco» by my southern SO). Although, I do live in a hispanic part of the DC burbs if that counts for anything. I don’t even really care for most of the«authentic» tacos I’ve ever eaten because I don’t think beef that isn’t a little red is worth eating especially if its shredded or ground and I don’t like soft corn tortillas. I didn’t think there was anything exciting going on in my carne asada taco and the guacamole was overpriced and bland(4 dollars). I do like the fact that you can order individual tacos to try everything rather than order a three taco entrée.

I can’t believe that I have been missing out all this time. I was in the area and had the chance to stop by for an early lunch. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by friendly staff and genuine smiles. The diner’s color scheme is more urban and chic and I love the relaxing vibe of the whole place. We tried several items on the menu but our favorites are the street tacos. We loved the red snapper, beef brisket, and spicy shrimp tacos. Even though it is $ 2.50 for a taco but I feel that they are pretty generous with their meats/fish/shrimp. You can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. We will be back! Btw, they are closed on Sundays unlike the hours stated on the Unilocal page.

(This all applies for their Breakfast) You have to either get here Before 10:30am during the week or Catch their Brunch on Saturdays 10am to 2pm) all 5 stars are going toward their VERY well put together Bacon, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Burrito. Good god. It’s fits perfectly in both hands, No leakage, not very greasy and Everything is cooked perfectly. I mean the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Ratio is Phenomenal. Nice chunks of Bacon. Let me tell you. The Migas on the other hand were a Nahhh. Not the Migas I know and sometimes Loved. Paco and Johns Breakfast Burrito blows Esperanza’s Breakfast Burritos Out of the water. Easy.

One area I think Fort Worth is seriously lacking in, especially around downtown, is the breakfast taco department. I’ve been looking for decent breakfast tacos for the longest time and have been sorely, sorely disappointed. I’m talking about YEARS here. I mean, I’ll eat them when some new place tries… because hey, they’re tacos, and even if they’re bad they’re usually still pretty good… but I know that somewhere out there, there’s someone who can make a righteous breakfast taco without me leaving feeling like I’ve been cheated somehow. Enter Paco & John(the diner). They have a $ 3.502-breakfast tacos and coffee special, as well as a $ 3.99 assortment of breakfast burritos(if you get them to go, if you don’t I think they’re $ 1 more). But this place was able to quell my breakfast taco jones… finally. They’re not really downtown proper, which kind of doesn’t count in my quest, but it’s close enough… on the way to work. And they’re pretty quick with their taco goodness, so I’m happy.

I read the reviews and I hear the people… «real Mexican.» I get it, but it still didn’t rock my boat, real or «fake.» The flavors didn’t pack punch. The tacos weren’t that big either — we ended up ordering 2 more midway through our meal because we knew the ones we had weren’t going to cut it. I can’t even remember what tacos were ordered… it was that forgettable. I could go look it up, but I don’t even care… GOHEREONLYIFYOUDON’T CAREWHETHERORNOTYOUMIGHTBELETDOWN. Sorry owner people… sorry, but it’s true.

Unfortunately, my experience was way below that I would have expected from the other Unilocal reviews. The best thing about our meal was the chips & queso. I don’t have any complaints about those. I ordered three different street tacos with rice and beans. Beef fajita, pork pastor, and shrimp. They were all bland and cost about a dollar more a piece than at my favorite street taco place in Arlington. The rice and beans were also very bland. The ambience is more like a diner than a Mexican place which maybe is why it is popular with folks but honestly I thought the food was nothing to write home about.

With a perfectly low key 50’s diner feel, a Mexican waitress that was both laid back and beaming with a smile, and with a few bites of the smokey roasted tomato salsa I was left thinking, OMG Fort Worth really has Dallas beat on the tex mex scene; authentic, thoughtful execution and warm service that all seemed effortless. Was I near the ocean? Something about the vibe here is right on. Things here are done their way, which means, no copy cat recipes, and they do a good job. This is nice. I had a miss with my meal: asked for veg or seafood and she recommended the poblano cheese soup, even though it had chunks of chicken. I ate it anyway, it was delicious. Sandwich was small but flavorful, French fries were ribbon thin, tasty and carb friendly. Flan was really good. When am I going to Oaxaca?
