A very good place to eat. Anything you choose to eat is always fresh and tasty. I have been eating at Lubys for years and the quality of food is always excellent. I love this place. Thanksgiving dinners are very good.

Ate supper here, amazed at the cost just for a Luby’s plate which is just a half piece of meat, and two veggies & roll. Cost my husband & I right at $ 25.00. We both got a drink. Ask for senior discount, but young girl said we had to have been there 15 minutes earlier. I’m confused after a certain time of the day your no longer a senior citizen? We saw lots of senior citizens there, and wondered how one could afford to eat at Luby’s very often due to the prices. I love their vegetables, but as my husbands always has said the cook does put way too much salt in the food. Ok anyone out there appreciate a great meal at a reasonable cost, check out Texas Roadhouse $ 10 enjoy a steak, really great salad, another vegie, and all the hot bread & peanuts you can eat.(smile) I’m a senior enjoy eating out, but have to watch our money at the same time. Would love to read others comments about this restaurant as well.

We enjoy their food very much. Love the fried fish, fried okra, and mac and cheese. Plus their corn bread isnt sweet so that is a plus. The only thing I wish they would offer is an online menu. This location has a to go window and we like to use it sometimes. There is no menu online at all. Love the food and service is nice.

My wife and I went tonight for dinner. She got a Luann platter and I got a regular combo. When I paid the bill it seemed high but the lady behind me was hollering about coffee. When I got to the table I saw that they charged my wife’s meal twice and not the correct price. I gave the receipt to the waitress to take to the manager. She came back and said that the manager said he would credit us back in 3 – 4 days. All this without my card or anything. We asked for a receipt stating the credit and she said he did not give her one. Knowing this was not correct my wife went up and asked again. He did a credit and gave her a copy. But they never got the amount right … We left very disappointed in the manager and the store. With only about 15 customers he could not be bothered to come to us personally and make sure the credit was done right.

this lubys is older and in dire need of a remodel, but the food is good and the staff is friendly. They do a good Job of «line placement» stocking premium items at the front, presentation was better than average but I saw a couple of items that could have been re plated and displayed freshly. The line was kept clean with no empty spots. it could have moved quicker, the line staff has to train up a bit on how the«next line person» should encourage line movement. The dinning room waitress visited me twice(which earned her a tip). So I would say execution at this lubys was pretty good and worthy of 3.5 stars. the facilities however is a solid 2. it was very clean. but everything was so dated, it really took away from the great execution. I would encourage the DM to evaluate a complete remodel here.(or close this location and build a new store no more than ½ mile away). While I like and have frequented lubys and Piccadilly since the 80’s. I can tell you the corporate office still needs better signage on what items are on the lue Anne. it was very typical to see someone in line behind me get frustrated and confused with trying to get«chopped beef on the lu Anne» only to find at chk out they gave him the larger chopped beef piece and are charging him more. Perfect way to never see a new guest again. and it happens by design all the time regardless of the store.(but that’s for a different review I guess)

Grew up on cafeterias! Our go to was Furrs, bit when we moved away, they vanished andy husband and I haven’t been to one in quite some time! So when we suggested Luby’s my parents agreed to come with us! Food was good. Had a large variety to choose from, but it isn’t all you can eat which my husband really wanted! Had to get my own refills too!

This was my first time at Luby’s. I have been told by many people that only old people go to Luby’s. Since I’m not old(oldish but not old), I actually never went to Luby’s until today. We went there for lunch to celebrate a co-workers birthday. I looked up the menu online, and it seemed pretty decent. Once, I got there, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. It tasted good, it looked good, portion size was pretty good and the price was very reasonable. I had the White Fish Almondine and it was delicious. The side orders of Spinach and Dirty Rice was good too. The service was excellent. They came and asked us several times if there was anything that we needed. All in all, I really liked this place.

Always love having lunch at Lubys! Quick, nutritious food! Today I got a salad, they let you pick your own toppings and they are not stingy! Went with my usual vegetable plate and roll, much better than fast food options around. Management and staff are very friendly, they seem to remember me and say hello when I come in! If you can avoid the construction on the highway you can’t beat lubys for lunch!

I have only eaten at Luby’s once before, and it was somewhere outside Dallas on a road trip about four years ago. I wasn’t impressed, and the place wasn’t clean. So, when my cousins suggested it, I wasn’t really thrilled, but I didn’t complain. Our first choice was Texas Roadhouse, but with an hour and 10 minute wait, and a 7yr old, you can’t really wait that long. After searching around N. Beach and Western Center and not finding anything suitable, the vote was in for Luby’s. So, I didn’t have high expectations for this place. And that was probably good, because I was actually pleasantly surprised. I had a salad, with chicken enchilladas. I chose cabbage and rice for my side dishes, and a chocolate pie for dessert. Everything was really good — and I don’t think that it was because I was hungry. I actually think the food was well done(at least as well as could be for cafeteria style food). The servers were friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. They still had plenty of hot food at 7:20(and they closed at 8), and they didn’t mind us finishing up and staying there until just after 8. I would be open to eating here again based on this experience.

I grew up eating at Luby’s once a week and I still get the craving for their fried fish. While I am sure everything there is fantastic, my inner child draws breath and gets a LuAnn fish platter with a fresh veggie and mashed potatoes with creamed gravy when I visit. Today, that is what I ordered and it was on point. Zucchini was available and it was delicious. Our«server» was attentive. More on that below. Also, it’s a bit run-down and I don’t get the tipping system. I signed a chit before I carried the tray to my table with a $ 3 tip. Is that some general fund that the waitstaff shares? If they put the cashier at the door like they used to then as a guest I could justify how much my dining experience was worth. Paying in advance — and tipping on that — makes me feel like I’m giving some nameless corporate entity free money because their system basically demands it, which they can/cannot distribute at their leisure. I also didn’t think a LuAnn is worth a little under eight bucks — especially in this particular area — but that’s what I paid,

I was really surprised how good the food was. I order the ¼ roasted chicken with white meat-it was juicy with green beans and new potatoes with a wheat roll… the food didn’t taste like a can I will go back!

Oh my, I do love me some Luby’s! I know, I know — they are going the way of the dinosaur. That’s a shame, Luby’s is probably the closest to real home cooking as one can get in the glittery world of packaged chain restaurants with their identical bland menus — Luby’s is a haven of hope. Well, that might be a little thick, but whenever we go, we are never disappointed. The food is always comforting and familiar. The portions are generous. The folks serving it don’t mind my gazillion of questions about what is in the sauce or how was it prepared — they are always patient with me. If they don’t know, they go find out and tell me. Probably the only thing I would have to say that I am not crazy about is the the quality of desserts is sometimes hit or miss. I like this one on 820 the best — the dining room is large and comfortable. The carpet is clean and they are always quick to wipe up a table once some one leaves. The bathrooms are also super clean. As long as the doors are open and the lights are on — I will be eating at Luby’s!

I love Luby’s, but this one fell short. Dishes and napkins of questionable cleanliness. Food ranged from very good(mac-n-cheese) to cold, undercooked and barely edible(broccoli). Service was less than stellar. Overall, a mediocre experience.

Every once in a while it’s refreshing to take a break from the usual chains and sup on something that more closely resembles home cooking. That’s where Luby’s comes in, the venerable cafeteria chain that has been around for God knows how long. For the vegan looking to remain true to their dietary creed and the carnivore who simply desires an occasional fresh plate of vegetables, it’s a great alternative to the usual formula food restaurants. You can pretty much get anything you want here, and your bill can quickly escalate unless you show some restraint in piling the foods onto your tray … What I want to know is when the heck did vegetables get to be so expensive? The only drawbacks to dining here are the occasional gaggle of screaming kids who don’t know how to behave in public or what they want to eat(and who can blame them, since here there’s a scarcity of the usual grease-laden, extruded food fodder that the average kid’s diet consists of). Second, you might be stuck in line behind a busload of oldsters who are on no kind of schedule at all, and of course, love to take their dear sweet time in selecting their dishes. Nowadays, the décor is more up to date here and it feels a lot less like you are dining in the parlor of a retirement home. Today, you also pay for your food at the end of the food line, where in days past you used to ante up when you exited the restaurant. I guess there were too many little old ladies skipping out on their checks and making a bee-line for the bus … Well, at least the iced-tea refills are still free!
