The Food is trash. The salsa, queso, mango margarita, enchiladas, and the rice and beans… all awful! I was so disappointed.

pretty good. Shrimp cocktail was great and the pitcher of margarita’s were yummy! salsa, chips, and flour tortilla’s were ok– but we’ll probably return.

Wow I’m just disgusted. I found a roach in my rice. When I told staff they denied it. I won’t be coming here again.

This place was great! Fajitas were amazing! My husband and I got the fajitas for two and it was more than enough. The service was amazing. Drinks always full and waiter very happy and helpful.

A busy place! The portions are quite large. The guacamole was okay and tasted great after we added some salt. The cowboy tacos were a little bland and could use some more meat. The fish had a lot of flavor and was quite delicious. The service was great. The atmosphere was cultural and casual

We usually go the the Weatherford location but visited here when another dining option didn’t pan out. Service and food were both very good and we had no complaints, but it just didn’t seems quite as nice as the Weatherford location. That being said, it is still a very solid option for Tex-Mex near the historic district in Ft. Worth.

Ironically the seafood is no bueno at this restaurant. I understand this establishment is located in north Texas hours away from any coast. However, the prices will have you daydreaming of Mexican men fishing off the gulf and rushing it via planes to the chef in the kitchen while you so impatiently wait at your table snacking on the chips and salsa. Unfortunately the experience is far from that. I ordered the seafood enchiladas and the crab and shrimp tasted as if they were bought at the local Fiesta frozen artificial section during their lent specials. My wife ordered the«filete empanizado» and I could swear the chef must of ran out salt, pepper and all seasonings shortly before we arrived. Bottom line, the food is not terrible but for the price you are better off visiting other fine establishments, or you can simply order chicken or beef instead of the seafood.

Too expensive for what you get. Seems like the main course in your plate is the beans which covers about half the plate.

Pleasant experience dining in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Only noticed three items on the kid’s menu but they had no complaints and mostly enjoyed what they ordered. Great sauce on the Camarones-a-la-Mexicana, spicy and tomato-y as it should be. Enchiladas del Mar also had a good sauce, great filling, tasty enchiladas. PERFECTLY cooked vegetables on our plates, just wish they had some seasoning; yes the flavor and texture of the vegetables comes through beautifully, but some simple seasoning while these cook would enhance that enormously, but that, of course, is just my opinion. Appreciated the toast to lap up the little remaining sauce… but just wasn’t impressed… nothing to complain about… worth a try if Mexican/Tex-Mex style seafood is something you enjoy

This is my second time here and I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but it was still a disappointment. They did sit us down right away but since we were waiting for the rest of our party they didn’t really care for us until everyone else came. I at least wanted to order a drink or appetizers atleast, but nope! We were there for about 10 minutes and the waitress finally asked if we wanted a drink. I got the carne asada and it was tender for such a thin piece of meat so that was surprising. It had flavor but definitely didn’t need all the cheese that was melted on top. It did come out a little cold, I could of sworn on the menu it said rice and beans but I got rice and veggies it would of been nice if the server told me that. Over all I didn’t think this dish was worth the $$ Margaritas are small but strong. We even tried the banana daiquiri and that was delicious!

Very good tex mex right by the stockyards. Steak fajitas were great. Tender and great flavor. Margaritas are excellent. Other places nearby fill up but are no better. Not sure why this place doesn’t get more business, but the good news is that you can always get a table. I have been here about ten times during business trips to ft worth but this was the first time I took my family and they agreed that it was a great spot.

Not bad… nothing I would rave about. The flavor of everything was good and no complaints. It wasn’t very busy which is nice. We always start off our Mexican experiences with queso. I really enjoyed their queso… very cheesy! The hot sauce is delicious! The cowboy tacos are okay. Enchiladas are good. beef ones tasted a little funny. The beef taco tasted funny too. Must be the seasoning they use on their beef. The chicken fajita meat is kinda plain. I prefer more flavor.

This is one of the better tex-mex establishments I have had the pleasure to eat at. I love their cheese enchiladas and their beef brisket crispy tacos. My girlfriend loves their Caldo Maya seafood soup. The wait staff is always friendly, but the older woman that hosts is curt and unfriendly. The manager is wonderful, and used to work at the Sunset location which is also very good. I highly recommend La Playa Maya to anyone looking for good quality and fresh food.

I’ve only ate here twice, both times the entrees were good and the ceviche was awesome! The nachos and salsa with some lime added were great as well.

The only good thing I found at this restaurant was the margarita and water that I drank. I ordered the fish tacos and my husband ordered enchiladas. His beef enchilada tasted fishy, the rice had no flavor and my fish must have been catfish or something. By the time I got near the end of my second taco the fish went weird and had a taste I am unable to describe. The server continually passed us by and went to other tables. I’m not sure if it was because we were White and not Hispanic. It was clear that I was finished eating and it took her a long time to come and asked if we were done. Then it took longer to get the check. The restaurant was not that busy, so I was confused at why she was helping others more than us. Our server was fairly nice. I would not recommend this place to anyone. EVER

I’ve driven by La Playa Maya many times but it wasn’t until recently that I dined there. First off, they have excellent chips and salsa: thin, light chips and fresh salsa with lots of cilantro — mm mm. Being named Playa, they offer many seafood options in their menu and even some catfish! My first lunch there I had grilled tilapia with fresh vegetables and rice — delicious. My second lunch there I had the shrimp cocktail — the large size and is it ever! You get a large margarita glass filled with delicious shrimp, sauce, and a bit of avocado(again lots of cilantro), plus you get around 7 jumbo shrimp — huge! If you love shrimp, this is the dish for you! If this proves too much for you, they also offer their shrimp cocktail in medium and small sizes. Service is fine, nothing great, nothing bad, just efficient. I will be back!

This is one of my favorite for lunch. I love their salsa and chips. One of the best things I like about dining at La Playa is the«Horchata», a traditional Mexican drink. I love it and since they serve it I keep returning to the restaurant. For lunch today I had one of the lunch specials that included a crispy taco and a cheese enchilada plus rice and beans. My lunch was delivered quickly and served hot. Service while I was there was«crisp» and attentive! Thank you La Playa Maya for being a wonderful restaurant.

We went there for lunch and I’ve ordered fish tacos like I normally do and was amazed at the quality. This costed me only $ 8.95 plus some fresh quacomole and queso with chips but it tasted so good. The fish was fried crisp, plenty of vegetables and fresh cut avocado on the side with some rice and lettuce. Yum yum yum. They only use 1 tortilla so that I can taste the food instead of feeling like I’m chewing on rubber. Fish tacos at any other places have too much tortilla(usually 2 layers) and it really does not have any taste, but this place has the right spice and tangy grab. You gotta do it right!
