Great food here! I ordered one of their many taco dinners. I got tortillas and a plate full of fixins to make my own tacos. I’ve never had tacos like this before, and it was FULLONAMAZING. Very, very special place. You would think it was some high end fancy chef that comes up with these recipies. All I know is, it’s great and the prices are good, and I love this place.

The only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars is bc their margarita was meh. But HOLYCOWTHEFOODHEREISSOGOOD. Man even just their chips and salsa are unreal.

It’s a sad day in the Mexican food world, it appears Flamingos is no longer in business. This was a great restaurant with a very good people running it and we will miss them.

Unfortunately I am writing this negative review for Flamingos. After visiting here several times we will not be returning. Food has always been good. Just be VERY watchful of what is brought as it always comes missing things. Wait staff is always uninformed as to what should be on it as well. Each time you say it comes with XXXX they look at you like a deer in a headlight. Tonight was a special kind of stupid. We had a special to apply towards the meal. After letting the waiter know, the owner jacked up the happy hour prices on the beer saying«their computer couldn’t combine discounts» After trying to talk to the owner about it, stating clearly that the discount only applied towards food, he wouldn’t come off his stance of «combining discounts» I finally point blank had to ask if he was going to do anything about it. At which point he said no. I will skip all the rest of us going back and forth to save time and typing. Needless to say, they have lost repeat customers over something really pointless. I guess their overfilled seating(slight exaggeration) justifies their actions as they really don’t need our patronage(insert sarcasm)

FALSEADVERTISING!!! Read bottom. We had just left the air show and decided to eat in the area. Used Unilocal to locate a restaurant after our first choice, joe t, was a little too crowded. Chips and salsa are flavorful and crisp. Me and my husband both got chicken fajitas. Onions grilled how I like them. Chicken a bit dry but still good flavor. THISISWHEREITTOOK A BADTURN– The waitress wasn’t confident. She whispered when she spoke. Took forever to get the check, and had to ask for salsa 3 – 4 times) Although our order was correct! Hurray! SO… There were signs EVERYWHERE advertising 25% off your meal(text«flam» to — – ) HEREISTHESCAM– THEREISNTEVENFINEPRINT) NOWHEREDOESITSAY«not Available on first purchase» «It wasn’t loaded into their system… It takes. 12 hours! Says the manager? I wonder how many other people have had this problem– and I’m trying to make sure no one else is confused by this FALSEADVERTISEMENT! I guess they are desperate for customers and their solution is to trick you into think your receiving a discount–

Just went for chips and drinks and was blown away! The tortilla chips are homemade and the margaritas are wonderful. Fresh, organic, and huge chalice(goblet) to hold it all. They can even add fresh juice. DEFINITELYCOMINGBACK!!!

We tried Flamingo’s because we had a Groupon, and boy are we glad we did. Our visit started with the owner greeting us at the door. He explained the restaurant concept, the freshness of their food, and the freshness of the margaritas. Of course, we had to try that margarita. In addition to the margarita, we ordered Carne Asada and The Flamingo. Both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh. Our waitress was also wonderful. We had a great conversation with her. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit to Flamingo’s, and we will certainly be returning.

This little place has tons of potential. We arrived at a time when every other place around was packed. I enjoyed a Michelada Cubana that was superb. We ordered steak fajitas nachos. More on those in a sec, first… We began with a bowl of EXCELLANTCHIPSANDSALSA. I highlight that as these items are expected in most Mexican establishments and I believe most kind of phone it in usually. The chips here are different, the salsa is different, in a wonderful way. The chips are made from tortillas that we were told are made special for Flamingos. We both loved the thick, crunchy chips that were surprisingly light, no chewy areas which I expect from a thick chip. The salsa looked watery and thin but again they tricked me. Salsa was fresh, full of flavor, the heat surprising and not to hot for either of us. We also ordered a sauce that the cook suggested that I believe has arbol peppers in it. It’s thick, smoky and hot. I like the combo of both sauces, YUM. Our nachos arrived and we were happy to see that they used the same chips as the base. We had agreed before we arrived to get the nachos because we have found it to be a dish that is either really good or really bad and that you can tell a lot by how it is treated and served. We ordered the steak fajita nachos so that we could also try the fajita meat. The chips saved this dish. It was your standard deluxe nachos, chips, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion. It came with a tiny scoop of guacamole and a teeny scoop of sour cream. The chips held up very well through to the end of the plate, very uncommon. Neither one of us would order it again because at $ 14.95 for the dish I expected more than the small handful of tiny pieces of meat. When tasted alone the meat lacked any taste other than the slight char from grilling. We will return as they have a menu FULL of interesting things. One thing called«Bar B Q fish, for 2» has got us planning our next visit. Im hoping it’s open that long. We were there a good hour and were 1 of only 2 tables occupied. Rumor has it their lease is up in April, crossing my fingers they re-new. FYI the cook told us they cook everything to order, very interesting.

We went here by chance because Joe T Garcias was too full, and I’m so glad I did! The drinks a super FRESH! I knew this right from the moment I took the first sip. The margarita was not loaded with sugar and syrup, it was fresh lime juice and refreshing. I consider myself a Margarita pro and I would definitely recommend this place to friends. My cousin ordered a Michelada Chimoy and it was very good… I have only had this three times and so far this place was the best. Our server was soooooo sweet and polite. He didn’t speak much English but he tried very hard to get everything right for us and he did wonderful. I had the ceviche and enjoyed the fresh fish and tomatoes. The cactus and steak dish was good too! I hate that they didn’t get more business, it was very a very slow evening for them. I hope this place gets busy and sticks around.

If you want the most fantastic caldo de mariscos in Fort Worth, this is the place!!! They make each bowl by hand, and it shows in the best kind of way! I think this is a family-owned business, which is why their food shows so much passion and attention to detail. The owner came and chatted with my table for a while. He’s a sweet man with a genuine smile and told us that the recipes they use are of Acapulco style. I love this place! And they have a 25% off coupon if you text a number, which made the already inexpensive meal, SUPER inexpensive. We felt bad that our bill was so little we tipped 120%!

Great food. Im getting tired of the usual Tex-Mex fare, especially the chains like Mi Cocina and Uncle Julios I tried Flamingos because its more coastal Mex, than Tex Mex. I had a steak and enchilada dish and my husband had the Shrimp Veracruz. I thought the beef in my dish had a good flavor, it didn’t taste of chemicals like so many restauraunts use to tenderize and preserve their beef. You could tell that it was fresh. My husbands shrimp was cooked perfectly. I had a drink called a Chela-Rita, it was beer mixed with fresh fruit and fresh fruit juices. Its sounds weird, but it was delicious! My husband had a strawberry milkshake that he also enjoyed. They also serve octopus but were out of it that day. The owner says they only buy a little because it comes in fresh and they don’t want to freeze any of it. We will definitely be back-in fact we are bringing our friends in a couple of weeks.

I ate here today and it was very good. While others flocked to the near bye Esperanza’s and Joe T’s I came to Flamingo’s which is across the street from La Plata Maya. And I like all three of those places but you can never have too much Mexican food, right? As previously mentioned the restaurant specializes in Mexican coastal cuisine. They have lots on the menu of which is reasonably priced. The menu items are in Spanish but have the English translations under each item. I had a dish with shrimp, beef, green peppers, onions, and cheese served with 2 flour and 2 corn tortillas. It was enough for one hearty eater or two less hungry eaters(I took half home). The waitress asked did I like hot food and I said yes so she brought me some hot stuff. The salsa was a bit different than most places with a slightly sweet chipoltle flavor but after I doctored up my taco with hot stuff I found that there was a good reason for the sweetness(it counteracts the hot). The inside is very spacious and the parking would have been fine on the street but the church behind it was having an activity that day. But it didn’t kill me to walk a bit after all that food.

Ok kiddos, DON’T come here for Tex-Mex. –DO– come here for authentic coastal Mexican food. Very fresh and well-prepared food. According to the owner, everything is prepared to order. Mrs Possum had enchiladas verde and the chicken was about as good as we have ever tasted. It came with a side of savory rice with little brown lentil-like beans in it. The charro beans were also delicious. Mr Possum had a platter of meat and veggies that came with flour tortilla. A kind of a roll-your-own situation that he loved. Again, fresh tasting and not heavy at all. We requested and got some delicious sauces on the side. One was a sort of guacamole made with serranos, and another was a delicious peanut based hot HOT paste made with some seriously serious Mexican peppers. The menu is strong on fish and shrimp dishes. We had a nice chat with the owner who says they have had and still have a restaurant in Acapulco that specializes in seafood.
