I love this place. Some of the healthiest food in Fort Worth. Yes, small pieces of grilled chicken is healthier than KFC. Shocking! The sides were tasty and the staff very friendly. Always a healthy choice for lunch. Plenty of parking in the strip mall. Check it out.

Holy moly ! Definitely glad I chose to order lunch here today! I work close and ordered lunch online for pick up. Not only was the turn around time fast(15mins) it’s amazing! I got the half white chicken platter with the twice baked potaters and cucumber salad. The chicken is tender and moist without being slimy. The taters have a great flavor and hasbrown like texture. The salad is perfectly tangy! For around $ 8 you can’t beat the quality for the price and the fast order time. Can’t wait to try something else here!

Reporting my satisfaction after two home delivery orders: rotisserie chicken(all white meat) is moist, flavorful and fresh — twice-baked potato concept is good — sautéed fresh green beans are al dente and flavorful. This place is awesome for weeknight family take-out or delivery. The white meat chicken salad makes a great sandwich when you add lettuce, tomatoes and bread. My 2nd delivery 03/22/2016 was late due to the delivery driver mis reading my street address name. He went to **** Lane instead of **** Court. He had to call me and I had a difficult time ascertaining his location to guide him to correct street. With GPS, Siri, etc., this shouldn’t happen. I will eat this restaurant’s offerings again. Hope they can improve delivery service.

We went here for dinner. My first time but I like rotisserie ckn so I wasn’t to concerned about the menu. The ckn was very good and my sides were fresh cut fries and baked mac n chs. The food was hot and good. I had tea and it was perfect. About $ 10. Per person and worth it.

So disappointed… the twice baked potatoes is over rated… no flavor not enough cheese, it taste like soggy hashbrowns… the chicken was dry no flavor… rolls were ok mac and cheese was decent. Honestly I think they have other options that are good but all in all I’m not a fan.

Like Bridget V., I’m very surprised to see so many negative reviews! Been here several times and it’s always been fantastic! I usually get the two piece special and my two sides are always creamed spinach and creamed spinach.(Yes, you read that correctly.) They recently added chicken enchiladas to the menu and they are delicious! If a Mexican restaurant offered creamed spinach with their enchiladas I would order it that way. So the fact that there are no refried beans or Mexican rice on the menu doesn’t hurt my feelings… like it obviously does a few other reviewers. Another common thread throughout the negative reviews was portion size. The chicken pieces do seem to be slightly smaller than other places(VERY slightly) but c’mon fatty… get over it! There’s plenty of food on that plate, especially for the price! The place is very clean. The service is very friendly! Whenever I’m in this part of Fort Worth, I will make it a point to eat here!

Surprised at all the negative reviews! I got delivery via Grubhub. The food came within the expected time frame and was delivered by a very nice gentleman who went over our order with us and also told us about the specials they were having for thanksgiving. Our food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The bf got the enchiladas which he loved. He said the green sauce on it was amazing. I got a 3 piece meal with two sides and I loved everything! I will admit I was a little disappointed when I opened the box to find very little chicken skin on my drumstick. The skin is the best part, or so I thought. To my surprise, the chicken was smoky, juicy, and super flavorful. My twice baked potatoes and corn fritters were sooo good, and the peach cobbler was AMAZING. I would definitely recommend Cowboy Chicken to anyone looking for delivery that is not the typical pizza or Chinese food. They have a lot of healthier options and sides, which I definitely look forward to trying.

You know a place is good when you pass by the restaurant and you can smell the food. They are located in a busy street, behind a mall and movie theater but you can still smell the rotisserie chicken. Cowboy chicken was clean and the price wasn’t bad. I took a family deal to go, the whole chicken with sides. The food was great but side could use some work with more choices and maybe a corn bread. Wish they would have a gallon of tea or bottles of soda to go with a family meal, instead of ordering drink in cups for the family. But all in all very good, next time have my mind to try their BBQ ribs.

Cowboy chicken what to say well the first few times we went there it was amazing chicken. You can definitely tell the sides are not homemade. But that’s okay but tonight we went and got some to go food and was so disappointed. We got a whole chicken dry as a bone literally just like dust could not believe it so embarrassed to serve this to my friends. The corn tasted like it was 3 days old mashed potatoes was spoiled and the macaroni and cheese just was not mac and cheese. So to say the least we threw everything out and ordered pizza. Guess I will not be going back to cowboy chicken really loved it in the beginning but you continue to be dried out chicken I will save my money and go to Sams and get delicious rotisserie chicken for five bucks

After many drive-bys and«oh we should go there one day!» my lunch buddy and I realized that the nearby noodle house was closed on Tuesday, so we ended up trying out Cowboy Chicken today. We left feeling hungry and disappointed. They do give a pretty nice first-impression. You walk in the door and the fire-pit smoke hits you in the mouth in a delightful way. Whoa, am I about to taste some smoky chicken? Unfortunately, no, you’re going to taste dry chicken with no smoky flavor, and then leave wearing that smoke on your clothes for the rest of the workday. You don’t get to taste it. The most delicious thing in this place is your own shirt. The employees were nice. Highlights: — The cashier recommended the chicken sandwich. It seemed like grocery store lunch meat on a tiny hamburger bun, served with a small plastic peel-off container of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. Yes, I’m not joking — the BBQ sauce was in a little plastic tub, like you might get at Chik Fil A. There was another, vinegar-based hot sauce that was uninspired. — They were oddly out of french fries already at 11:30 am, so my side was a sweet baked potato. It was literally a half of a small sweet potato, sitting in the middle of the plate. No fixins whatsoever. — They brought my friend a little bowl of cobbler to make up for the lack of french fries — the topping was so sugary he couldn’t eat it. — Everything was small. The people who have commented here talking about eating healthy are right on – it’s a good place to go if you’re dieting because you won’t leave there feeling full. The concept is flawed — it’s like someone visited a real barbecue restaurant for the first time, and went off and tried to make a scrappy half-hearted version from memory, perhaps after some time and a minor head injury, and only using one of the 6 or 7 usual meats. The total failure to even feign homemade BBQ sauce was hilarious, and I left with my stomach still growling.

Okay I feel the need to update my review because they’ve definitely improved over the last two years. In my last review my biggest complaint was that the chicken was dry, but this time it was very moist so I’m glad to see this major improvement. The pinto beans and the rolls have improved as well. The baked sweet potatoes are cooked well but the green beans need to cook longer. The mixed veggies a strange sauce on them that reminds me of soy sauce. The apple cobbler is amazing especially with a scoop of ice cream. Keep up the good work and we’ll be back. And we’ll tell our friends as well.

The idea of a wood fired rotisserie chicken brought us in, and we left feeling like the experience should have been better. We arrived for the lunch rush and we prudently waited after 20 or so minutes our food arrived… First when you order a whole chicken I think that you should get a whole chicken, not a plate with 1 wing 2 legs, one thigh and one breast cut on into pieces, second a large fry that costs nearly $ 5 should not fill half of a plate… The chicken was no better than a rotisserie chicken from Costco so save your money. The«best» twice baked potato was all cheese and sour cream and no flavor… The only stand out for me was the fries which had a good texture, abs taste. Ultimately I think that you should pass on cowboy chicken as I will do from now on.

Quick lunch special was yummy. For $ 5.99 you get a leg and thigh and two sides. Overall a pretty good deal. Everyone was super friendly. That seems to be a common theme in Texas. The food was priced about right and came up quickly. I was not a huge fan of the macaroni and cheese it seems kind of soggy but everything else was wonderful.

Love the food, staff is friendly and the place is clean!!! I love that the chicken is NORMAL, meaning it is not huge and hyped up on hormones! The veggies are seasoned just right(love their campfire veggies and the black beans)! It is a little pricey, but to me worth the expense and far better than junk fast food that is cheaper.

Years later, this place is quite a hidden jewel. I say that because the food is just what comfort food should be: consistently and deliciously comfortable. After a rough week, if I’m needed reasonably healthy food(and I can’t drive back to East Texas in the middle of the week), there’s smoked chicken here to remind me. Skin and all :-)

One of my favorite places to go when trying to eat like a healthy human being. I get the Grilled Chicken Salad without cheese, and add the low fat italian dressing. The chicken is grilled to perfection every time I come, and the salad is incredibly filling. My only complaint is that the dish they put it in is so shallow I end up covering the table with food. I’ve tried all of the healthy side options and they are all great as well; the fire roasted veggies being my favorite. I find it neat that you can actually see the chicken roasting on the spit, which they will remove in front of you to prepare for your meal. I loved this because it just proves that the chicken you are served is actually fresh rather than frozen. Plus you don’t have to wait forever for your food!

So this is my second time coming to this restaurant and for the speed and price, the chicken is exceptional! The spices are amazing and it’s tender, juicy, and the entire restaurant always smells like a rotisserie. The ONLY complaint I have is for the«Twice Baked Potaters». These are definitely NOT twice baked potatoes. A twice baked potato is where the insides of a potato are scooped out, mashed with garlic, butter, and chives, then piped back INTO the potato, and topped with cheese and thyme. The«Twice Baked Potaters» served here are merely shitty grits. Not happy. More chicken please.

We came in here on a whim and the food was absolutely delicious! The rotisserie chicken was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The skin had so much flavor, and the meat was tender and falling off the bone. I also had the mac and cheese and would recommend that as well. The service was pretty quick and everyone was friendly. I will definitely go back!

Having recently relocated work down to South Fort Worth, I was excited by the concept and menu at Cowboy Chicken… have dined at twice over the past two weeks… at best I can muster is an uninspired, bland, and overpriced MEH. Echoing another reviewer, small pieces of chicken. Have tried several sides, none impressed, and the tomato and cucumber dish was overly onion for a lunch menu(we DO have to go back to work). Fried okra was pretty good, and again, repeating a previous review whats with the heat and eat rolls… can you heat them before serving these hockey pucks??? Just not hitting on many cylinders… too bad… now the Phở place located in same parking lot is a winner!!! But I digress…
