I have been a customer of Campisi’s since the late 1980’s. Originally in Dallas, but now I frequent the Fort Worth location and it is consistently good… exactly as it was years ago. Service in excellent. I eat here at least once a week… love it.

I ate there for the first time, Saturday May 14, 2016. Went at a off busy time, restaurant was empty. Had plenty of help running around. After we were seated, no one came to take our order. Finally asked a waiter if he would find our waiter, that was after ten minutes. Food was okay nothing special, somewhat over priced. I may try them again, but will have pizza next time.

When you come make sure your phone has a flashlight app because it’s super dark in the place. It’s hard to see the menu. or your food. Maybe I’m just getting old! I thought they are trying for a romantic vibe, but if they do the loudness and the blaring TVs kill it. I got the grilled chicken marsala. The food is decent, I guess. We’ve been here one other time, but I can’t remember what I got then.

Love every time we go! Staff is friendly and the food is great. We love to start with the calamari and end with tiramisu. Great variety of pasta and you can build your own dish if you want. I would recommend anyone to try this place you can beat it.

This food is not awful but it is also not very good. Not at all. The pizza taste like it was from Wal-Mart. The toasted ravioli was deep fried and not authentic. The shrimp scampi was average. The atmosphere is nice as its the décor and wine. Everything else was mediocre. Not worth the money.

I’ve been going Campisi’s for 51 years and this was one of the best times ever. It was my moms birthday and thank you to the staff but our waiter Harry was the best waiter ever. I haven’t seen such incredible service like I got that night. Of course the food was wonderful!

I lived across this place for a year and would walk their frequently to get my hands on their pasta with pink sauce. It is not on their menu but it is basically Marinara mixed with Alfredo sauce. I am sure their is a more technical name for it, but if you ask for the penne with pink sauce they will know exactly what to get you and you will not be disappointed.

Short version: Mostly OK food, but quite overpriced Full version: My wife, two kids and I ate dinner here recently. While I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying it, I probably wouldn’t recommend it either. The calamari appetizer was quite good, as were the dinner salads, which were simple but enjoyable. However my wife and I both got the sauteed shrimp scampi and it was 1) surprisingly bland, and 2) the«8 gulf shrimp» were tiny — each about the size of my pinky finger. Had the cost of our meal been in the $ 40 — $ 50 dollar range, it probably wouldn’t have bothered me very much. However for these two entrees, one glass of wine, the calamari, a kid’s pizza, and a kid’s order of noodles, the total was about $ 75 before tip. All in all, I left disappointed. If you’re set on trying this place, don’t let me discourage you, but I would have just as soon gone to someplace like Olive Garden for a lot less, or spent just a little bit more and had a truly nice meal somewhere else.

We celebrated a birthday on Sunday night. Had 2 dinner combos, chicken Alfredo and grilled chicken marsala. Salads for appetizers, 5 layer chocolate cake for birthday dessert. All fantastic, yummyness and purely wonderful. Our waiter, Blake was fast, informative and very nice. He made the night stress free with kindness. We will be back.

We decided to try Campisi’s last night and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! We decided to eat early(for us at least –6pm) so we wouldn’t have a wait. Luckily there wasn’t one even though the place was packed. I’m recovering from a tonsillectomy right now and the last thing I wanted was to wait around forever. We started with the calamari, it was very delicious. It’s $ 12 and I think you get a pretty good amount for the cost. The bf had the ravioli with pink sauce, he said it was pretty good. I had the angel hair pasta, pink sauce, and chicken. It was very very good but since I’m recovering from surgery I could hardly eat any. Had to bring it home and heat it up later. Service was great, Rich was very nice and patient with us. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We love the food here but service continues to wretched time after time. We went Sunday for lunch and waited 55 minutes for our food. With two children under the age of 6 this was a nightmare. With only 4 tables full in the the entire restaurant we waited nearly an hour. The manager gave us a cursory apology and offered to bring us dessert. Wow. Talk about totally missing the point. If you value good service and managers who give a damn then go eat elsewhere.

My first try of Campisi’s in Fort Worth and I was very pleased. I stopped in to give them a try since I happened to be in the area, they had good reviews and finding good Italian food has been hit or miss for me. I tried their meatball appetizer and their chicken parmigiana. Those are two of my go to dishes and I tend to try those first in any new place. Both were very good. The meatballs we cooked very well and not mushy, as is the case for a lot of places which tend to heavy up on the bread crumbs. The sauce at Campisi’s is on the sweeter side and it was the same sauce on my meatballs as on the chicken parm. They do have others, it just worked out that way on my order. The chicken parmigiana was very good as well. Tender and juicy with a crust that didn’t flake off in big chunks when you cut a bite to eat. And the side of spaghetti was fine too. I was happy to note that I didn’t end up with a pool of water because they actually took the time to drain the spaghetti. It’s a huge pet peeve when you get half the darn cooking water on your plate and it just ruins the dish for me. Not the case here. Service was great and my server was attentive and friendly. There’s a dining area and a bar area, in which you can eat if you’d like. In the bar area there are a couple of TVs so if you wanted to grab a bite and watch a game, you could do it here. Same thing if you wanted a nice quiet meal, the regular dining side will let you do that. I will definitely be back!

Love coming here, but they finally have Toi behind the bar! She is the best! They are crazy if they don’t keep her behind the bar! Thanks for great evening, Toi! The food is good, but the atmosphere is great for after work.

i finally got to eat here! lol after only grabbing beer here i finally got to have some pasta! sadly no pizza… first off from outside this place looks divey. walking in. not even the slightest! it never seems busy at night when i go no prob. the game was on and i wanted to watch my fantasy so i sat at the bar. as i looked over the menu they had 5 people come pick up their orders and while they waited they had beers and all the staff walked by and was like hey joe, hey ben hey john. i was like uhm. LOL. they must come here a lot! what a cool friendly vibe im getting! one guy even sat down and the bartender just hands him a wine glass and pours. now that is service! so i ordered the grilled chicken marsala because well marsala is just so sweet i loveeee it! and my friend got the shrimp scampi with fettuccine alfredo. next our house salad comes out which is honestly. why bother? its okay its overly dressed and overly seasoned but good if you come in super hungry and just need something to eat right away other than that it did nothing. then our food came out in nice hot plates! presentation was well done on my part but the scampi was ehhh. it was the perfect portion of pasta to chicken very good nice juicy chicken with enough marsala sauce. very well executing. the scampi’s shrimp was cooked perfectly not overly done served in a saucer of butter garlic and other things so seasoned well. and the alfredo sauce you could tell was not from a can and just made it was perfecto, thick sauce with just enough to cover the fet. and not murder it. all in all id love to eat here again my only complaint was the marsala was heavily oiled with olive oil had i not dipped my bread into my sauce i prob had 2 oz of oil in my plate. but id still eat here again.

They were the first Pizza in Texas. So, most copied them. The reason it is oval. When they great grandmother was told«there was a new thing in NYC, called, Pizza Pie». No one told her it was round. My family has been eating at Campisi’s since the 60’s.(Dallas Mockingbird Original Location, Since 1949!) I dare you to go try the lasagna ! The BEST! I my stomach, all else fail in comparison! Really! Just like another local old restaurant in Fort Worth called Kincaid’s. These people started in the grocery business. The bar that serves pizza. In the 1950s they moved into the first restaurant location. It was called the«Egyptian lounge». Funny story. My uncle was there in the 60s with a customer. He was a salesman. And he was whining and dining one of us biggest clients. Came time to pay the bill. At the time, and up until the 70s, they didn’t take credit cards. He called my dad at 11:30, on a weeknight, and begged my father to bring him money. My Dad, in true form, hung up on him. When he called back, my Mom took him the money.

I don’t know if my tastes are changing or if this location just doesn’t compare to others I’ve been to but I was underwhelmed by my dinner last night. We had two appetizers(scampi + meatball) and a pizza. I remember loving the scampi before at other locations, especially when ordered over pasta. This one was missing the breadcrumbs for the most part and the shrimp were quite small(not salad size, but not much bigger.) The meatballs were good, with a very sweet marinara(perhaps a little too sweet). The pizza was just ok, which is weird as I remember loving their pizza. But again the sauce seemed too sweet to me. Service was good and quite speedy, the food wasn’t particularly expensive, but it’s also not worth driving out from Arlington for. Corky’s is much better in Arlington, and if we want a really great Italian meal(and are willing to dress just a little nicer than we were last night) Aventino’s is a great choice.

We mostly order delivery from Campisi’s as it’s five minutes from our house, but we have also eaten there in the dining room. We became acquainted with Campisi’s(The Egyptian) years ago in Dallas on Mockingbird Av. as that was the only one then. The pizza is just as we like it, thin, cooked just right, and is always nicely topped with whatever you order. The small house salads are also good with a oil/vinegar dressing. We have ordered other dishes also(Ravioli Angel Hair Pasta, etc), but the dinner sized portions are quite small and rather lackluster in taste. This is not the place to go for a GREAT Italian dinner, but the pizza is hard to beat. Don’t worry Campisi’s, we’ll keep ordering from you.

There was a Campisi’s just minutes down the road from where I grew up, but surprisingly this was my first time eating here. I was staying with a friend in Ft Worth for the weekend and she asked me what sort of food sounded good for lunch. I told her I never turn down Italian so she suggested we come here. I was excited to finally go after all this time. I debated between pasta or pizza, but didn’t feel hungry enough to eat a big plate of food so we chose pizza since that’s easier to share. The medium is enough to feed two, but it’s very thin crust so if you have a hearty appetite you could probably finish this one on your own. I’m honestly not the biggest fan of thin crust because I love bread, and to me this one was a bit reminiscent of a frozen pizza in flavor. We picked our toppings and chose crumbled Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, and onion. The onion was still pretty raw, it tasted as if they threw it on top of the pizza after they had already baked it. The sausage and ricotta were good, and there was some Italian seasonings on there too that I liked. Overall though, their pizza is not something I would order again. I saw a lot of people with pasta and wished I had gone that route instead. Another thing I didn’t like was that they don’t give you free bread to snack on before the meal. That’s one of the best parts of going out for Italian food! Total bummer. Our server was in a rush to get us to order when we sat down, and was great about refilling our drinks at first, but the second the pizza came we barely saw her again. It wasn’t busy, as we came after their lunch rush, so I assumed since we only ordered one thing to share she didn’t think her tip would be worth it and ignored us for higher paying tables. Just sort of a ‘meh’ experience all around. I know my friend has great taste so there has to be something here that was worth her suggesting it. I don’t think she had ordered the pizza before either so it was a first for both of us. But I will return for pasta, and hope my next experience is a lot better than this one was.

I’ve lived in Fort Worth the majority of my adult years and I’ve never been here until a month ago. Since that first visit, I’ve eaten at Campisi’s at least three more times. I love the décor, the ambiance, the service, and the food. My go to is the breaded chicken parm with fettuccini alfredo. The portion is huge and I always have to take some home. My husband typically orders the pizza which is prepared with thin crust. It’s pretty great too. During prime dinner hour, you may have to wait for a table. From experience, after 8:30pm, it starts to clear out!
