I was having a discussion about how hard it is to completely screw up Italian staples, and now I have found my anecdote. I came in to kill time and eat while I was waiting on my truck to get tires. I was greeted by my server, Angel, and another server, who were both fantastic throughout my meal. Unfortunately, the food was downright bad. Spaghetti and meatballs is my favorite food, and I’ve never eaten a dish of it that I didn’t at least somewhat enjoy. The meatballs didn’t even taste like meat-flavored cardboard, that would imply some semblance of flavor. The sauce went the other way and was more wine than tomatoes. It was brown. I barely muscled down half the plate and now have horrible heartburn. But if you do go, «don’t forget to review [them] on facebook, google+ and Unilocal to be entered in [their] monthly contest.» This is why Unilocal is worthless in DFW. P. S., Angel, you’re a fantastic server, find a real restaurant.

We, and another couple dined at Aventino’s last night and enjoyed a wonderful meal and experience. All of the wait staff, including the owner were extremely friendly from greeting to bon voyage. The manager, Erica, even came over to our table to inform us of the wine dinners they occasionally offer and placed us on their email list. To start, we had the elk carpaccio with arugula appetizer. The elk literally melted(like chocolate does) in your mouth, and the complimenting arugula was perfectly seasoned with vinaigrette dressing. For main courses, I ordered the veal scaloppine — a perfectly done plate with juicy(not tough or overcooked) veal and a side of pasta. I ate every bite! My wife had a specialty dish that included shrimp and a chicken breast(pounded out) and served with mozzarella cheese in a white wine sauce with pasta — delicious! The other couple enjoyed shrimp alfresco as they are eating lighter. Their dishes were also without flaw. Due to the amount of food brought to us, we all passed on dessert. Oh yes, I should mention the Barolo wine we ordered was delicious and complimented all of our food with a robust flavor($ 80). Not a cheap place to eat, my half of the bill was just under $ 100 before tip. I don’t care — it was worth every penny. YES, we’ll be back soon!

Called to make sure they had a table for two available, hostess(owner) asked for my name and said she’d make sure our table was ready when we arrived in 15 – 20 minutes. Very friendly. We were sat immediately when we arrived. The food was delicious(dessert was tiramisu, but the cappuccino pie sounded so good), and the service was outstanding(Josh rocked). The wine list was lovely, as well. Coffee was the only thing that could be improved on. It tasted a little burnt, like it was from the bottom of the pot maybe? It didn’t matter though. The meal overall was absolutely fantastic!

When I lived in Fort Worth, I would go here every chance I got. Everything I’ve tried is amazing and they were great with making a few changes to a dish I ordered. It’s a great date spot because it has a very warm, quiet, and romantic feel to it. If you’re an Italian food lover, you’ll love it.

Made a reservation here for a week night and I called to change the time, and they didn’t ask me for my name which should have been my first signed. It’s located in a stripe mall. When we got there are 7, it was dead. There was not a single person in the restaurant. The parking lot was dead too. The entire time we ate, we were the only people there. It was crazy they even stayed open just for us. I was not impressed with the salad there was nothing but lettuce and a few tomatoes. The bread was your standard french baguette. I ordered a cup of the Cheese Tortellini Soup, it was okay, but for a cup it was $ 4, a little much for not a whole lot. But it was okay to dip the bread in. I ordered the Carbonara for dinner add chicken. It was a little bland for my taste. Overall it wasn’t a great experience, it took a while for the server to come check on us even though it was just us. After we left and got in the car, they turned the lights off and locked up.

Despite the sparse and boring décor, the food was quite good. The lemon butter sauce was one of the best I’ve had and the chicken was delicious. My only complaint about the food was the small amount of pasta that came with the meal. The chicken breast was typical, about the size of my hand, and I had to look under it to find the pasta. Really?! Pasta is cheap. They could have easily given me twice that amount. The house red — a Chianti — was also very tasty and the service was speedy and efficient.

There’s nothing bad to say! The food was very fresh and seasoned perfectly. One of the best Italian restaurants in Fort Worth and a hidden gem, as it was kind of hard to spot(first time I went there I drove past it twice). They have an amazing selection of authentic Italian dishes, and the classic spaghetti and meatballs is def my favorite! They do it so well! Service wise, there is no complaint. It is a family restaurant and all the servers are very nice and friendly. Every time I go there I’ve had a pleasant experience.

This quaint, romantic Italian restaurant was fantastic. The chef came out and talked to us for a while about their family run business. Everything is made from scratch by hand. I had the chicken scallopini and my mom had the salsa rosa pasta with artichoke hearts, meatballs, and sautéed mushrooms. The salsa rosa was creamy, but not cloying and the marinara made it tangy. My chicken was outstanding, a great balance of the butter, white wine, and lemony flavors. The onion and caper also kept things light and bouncy. All entrees come with a dinner salad with a red wine vinaigrette that is to die for. Use your Unilocal coupon for the joys made garlic bread!

The food tasted good for sure, but the portion size was so small that none of us were content with what we had. We were 10 of us and everybody felt the same. One of us had been there before and said they always server small portions. So we had a good meal in quality but overall were dissatisfied. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for that food provided the quantity is filling.

I really wanted to love this place. So many of my Unilocal buddies rave about the food, plus it’s close to our home. The service was lacking and my order was incorrect. Since it was just the man friend and me and one other couple dining, it was almost painfully quiet in this place. We used the Unilocal check in offer to get garlic bread as well as the mozzarella, tomato and focaccia bread. The pesto with that dish had great flavor and really stood out. I had ordered veal piccata and the server brought out chicken. Honest mistake I’m sure, but to correct it would have taken 10 – 15 minutes and I didn’t want my dining companion to wait while they made new food or have him feel awkward while he ate and I waited. The dish was good minus the chicken. The chef or possibly owner came out to talk to the table behind ours, but never came by ours. No apology on the mix up or anything. When we left he was out front and didn’t acknowledge us either. It was strange and uncomfortable. There’s so many other Italian places to choose from in this area alone, I can’t see us returning.

Was pleasantly surprised to find them open for lunch. Came in over the holidays and it was really great. They weren’t very busy, but our server was friendly but not overbearing. She had good suggestions and was very charming. The food, oh the food. House salad with the best dressing around, actual warm table bread, great garlic bread and very reasonable specials. Plus you can get dinner items at lunch. Best eggplant Parmesan hands down in Ft Worth. No dessert menu, but we tried the bread pudding and it was good. Love the family atmosphere. Will be back for more!

Eight of us gathered for my 65th birthday and we all had a fabulous 2 hour relaxing feast. Everyone ordered a different entrée and ALL left Aventino’s with a very happy tummy. I ordered the Ravioli Carciofi for the first time. It’s cheese stuffed ravioli topped with a creamy pesto sauce, roasted artichoke heart, sautéed mushrooms and roasted pine nuts. Oh my, the homemade pesto sauce was unbelievable. It was so rich I wanted to drive in. Since it was my birthday, I couldn’t leave Aventino’s without a special dessert. Chris, owner/chef, had prepared one of his signature desserts, crème caramel. It’s a cross between a flan and a crème brûlée. It’s so rich you need a cup of coffee to go with it. Aventino’s continues to get it «right» and is one of our favorite Italian restaurants. It’s so well run and the food is spectacular. I believe those in our party, many first timers, will now also become loyal customers.

My husband and I was so happy to find this place. Everything was great! Food, ambience and the wine! We will be back for sure. I had the pesto linguine with grills chicken. The meatball were to die for!
