Outstanding food and service is what I’d say! We were very surprised. The food is great but not a large menu. That’s ok– because what they do serve is really, really good. The staff is friendly and work very hard to make sure your happy! We will be back!

I received 6 small slices of sushi for $ 12. I could easily have gotten 2 large rolls at Central Market for the same amount of money. It was also strange to walk into a restaurant with Biblical quotes on every surface and Christian music playing. If you want a wide range of customers, keep your religion at home.

Best small sushi shop in fort worth! Simple is successful. Let me preface that if you are in Texas and are expecting top notch sushi you are barking up the wrong tree so feel free to reread every review that turns their nose on quality in rice or fish with that in mind. Fort worth isnt even near a port. Im a sushi snob but i am also aware of geography. Ive eaten my way through japan and hawaii as well as the costal regions of the u.s. and everywhere their sushi tastes different. Now with the restaurant! A diamond in the rough, hidden away next to tom thumb and red hot n blue. If you arent looking for it you will miss it. Osaka style food! My wife is half Japanese, from osaka and we love it here. Takoyaki in texas is almost unheard of! Simple, modest décor. Service polite and friendly! Menu is simple but diverse. Price is very reasonable The hot green tea is one of the better ones ive had in dfw without it being a tea house. Their miso is also the best ive had to date in fort worth. Sush a gem hidden away. Apps? Get the fried peppers or takoyaki! You will love them. Healthier? Edamame is fresh and consistently good. Cooked entrée recommendations? Oyakudon or their fried rice! Bento combos are great! Sushi recommendations? Try the big fish roll! Very flavorful! Dessert? Try fried sweet potato w ice cream or a boba tea smoothie! Perfect to cleanse the pallet after eating. The owner is very personable and remembers you! Try it out! Keep great, small sushi shops like this alive! Keep chains out!

I was disappointed with the sushi. Sashimi was really good, as well as the service. A little price too. The area is competitive…

We didn’t stay to eat after looking around & reading the menu, but if you want to eat here you better hurry — it probably won’t be here long.

I went here just the other day for their awesome(old) happy hour… I was slightly disappointed, however, as it had changed. I won’t talk about the«used to haves…» and I’ll instead focus on what I ordered. Takoyaki– WOW. Just bursts in your mouth with flavor and octopus pieces. Vegetable fried rice– it seriously ALWAYS takes like twenty min to make, so order it early– AMAZING. So flavorful! The best I have ever had. The sushi has always been fresh tasting and perfectly rolled. Can’t go wrong. Current happy hour is all you can eat for $ 20. Not bad, if you only eat the sushi! But other items are great as well so I didn’t choose that option this time.

Best Sushi in Fort Worth! Super Fresh! Really, everything is awesome here. Excellent Service! I loved the atmosphere! Great ambiance! I loved the uplifting, inspirational music. I really appreciated that there were no creepy statues, or idols like at some places. I felt so much more comfortable eating in a stylish restaurant, without all that weird, creepy stuff!

The worst japanese food I have ever had. Horrible food and the sashimi tuna was so old and had been frozen. No fresh ingredients in this place

First the good, the service was good, server was helpful and kept our drinks filled. Appetizer was pretty good too. Now for the bad part, the sushi, which we had tempura fried just didn’t do it for me. I am accustomed to nice plating, even some artwork that says the chef cares about his food. This looked like sushi I would get from a fast food restaurant. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time, maybe others like this place and maybe you will too…

Can’t compare to Ume Korean and Japanese BBQ this place will blow big fish outta the water. Never go to a place that’s recommended by bunch of white people. They just don’t know the taste. Service was good that’s it. Sushi was kinda disappointing, specially the pento box the rice seemed old…

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not an extensive menu of sushi but tasty and well prepared. These people care about what they serve and their customer’s experience. Would prefer they use fresh ginger and wasabi though. We will definitely be back.

Did not eat any sushi. Ordered the Tonkatsu bentou for dinner. The tonkatsu was pretty good, but the cutlet was too thin compared to how it’s prepared in Japan which seems fairly common here in the US. The wakame seaweed salad and gyoza dumpling sides were also good. However the daigaku imo side was candied sweet potato pieces rather than imo mountain potato. It tasted old/poorly and I regretted eating it for the calorie factor alone. At least the tonkatsu and gyoza sauces were not overly sweet. The rice served with the bentou was very disappointing, obviously a cheap brand and too dry too. For the cost difference per bowl I still fail to understand why restaurants go too cheap on their rice. May be a personal bias though since I use koshihikari rice at home. Also had edamame for an appetizer. It was very good, though maybe a bit pricey for the serving size. The bentou was a good price for the portion, though the wakame salad option adds $ 1.50 to the price. Service was great(thank you Abby); 4+ and the interior/atmosphere was ok, but the food overall was maybe a little disappointing. In that sense it’s about what I expect for eating Japanese food in Fort Worth … sigh

Solid place. Service was quick, sushi was fresh, portions were not too big or small. Classic strip mall sushi joint. The owner is a TCU alum, so if you’re so inclined go support your fellow Frogs!

I stopped by Big Fish after a week-long ramen craving. After reading the online reviews, a visit seemed to be in order. Note that Happy Hour lasts from 4 – 6 pm. First off, the food. I had two pieces of red snapper nigiri off of the happy hour menu. The presentation was nice, and the quality was decent. The ramen was, in a word, disappointing. The flavor just wasn’t quite right, the serving size was small, and the meat wasn’t as tender as I’d hoped. Nothing like ramen in Japan. As a whole, the meal was forgettable. The vinyl seat in the booth I sat in was cracked on both sides. Overall, the place felt like a run-down diner, and while I’m always up for hole-in-the-wall, the quality of the food just wasn’t enough to offset the lackluster décor. At least the server was nice.

we went during the happy hour and got chicken fried rice, teryaki chicken, shrimp tempura roll, spicy salmon roll, Cali roll, and the mocha boba tee. The spicy salmon roll was pretty simple, but everything else was very attractive and delicious! and we talked with the chef a while as well, he was extremely kind. Came out to check on the other customers and us twice.
