Love the steak and shrimp quesadillas CheesePapusas amazing ! Funny thing I don’t really care for the chicken lol but that’s because I don’t like white meat… next time I’ll ask for dark meat on my quesadilla

LOVELOVELOVE their rotisserie chicken tacos! My only gripe is that they don’t make sure all the bones are out. But otherwise it’s great. The plantains are good and the serving size is super generous! I have tried the shrimp tacos but the shrimp are super tiny and buttery/greasy so I don’t like them. I highly recommend

Delicious chicken with flavorful rice and beans and tasty plantain. My go to dinner when I don’t feel like cooking. Try the platter with beef, chicken and shrimp!

I love the food and service. The employees are very nice and the food is ready with very little wait time. I’ve found the food taste, preparation and quality to be consistent each time I’ve ordered. I’m so happy they are now in the Fort Washington, MD area. The extra bonus is that the prices are reasonable and the quantity of food hefty. I have nothing but great comments.

This is one of the stores that Honeybun Cake Factory works with so you can buy that delicious rum cake! There is good food there very large portions for me and I always call my order in first for quick pick up.

I just returned home with my takeout order from Silvestre Chicken. After ordering from this place twice before, I’d vowed never to return. Not only did I find the chicken, even the dark meat, to be overly dry, but the fried plantain was dripping with oil! The manner in which the charbroiled chicken is stored on aluminum sheets under heating lamps ensures all moisture is stripped from the meat. In addition, the fried plantain portion is prepared from whole plantains cut into small cubes or thin discs that absorb a lot of cooking oil during frying. Nonetheless, I was famished tonight, so, instead of driving halfway around the beltway to Sardi’s, I broke my promise and returned to Silvestre Chicken in Fort Washington to order a half chicken with fried plantain and black beans. Terrible mistake! For starters, the fried plantain was placed in a piece of foil in the takeout container. In the time it took me to drive three miles from Silvestre Chicken back to my home, there was already a pool of oil at the base of the foil wrapping. The chicken was just as dry as my two previous orders. This is the very worst Peruvian Chicken I’ve had. I can safely say that Silvestre Chicken in Fort Washington is a pathetic excuse for Peruvian Chicken! I suggest this place be shut down or undergo an immediate upgrade in customer service and menu offering. We the people of Fort Washington deserve better than this joint and its unhealthy food… In fact, we demand better… Shape up or ship out, Silvestre Chicken!

Chicken a little dry but seasoning pretty tasty. Got the fries and rice with my whole chicken and they were pretty good and large portions. I liked both sauces the chicken came with. Will try again…

I simply love their food… The Salmon & shrimp is so fulfilling. I could eat it everyday. My food is usually ready in a timely manner & as of yet I have no complaints.

I love this place and I’m not the only one. I get that it’s a Peruvian chicken place, but I love the subs, quesadillas, and fajitas. The meat is always flavorful. The steak may be tough at times but it’s tasty. Very good value for the money. My fajita was $ 9 and its huge! Wasn’t a fan of the Peruvian chicken or their little honeybun cakes. Steak sub is on point but you gotta eat it at once because the bread can get soggy. I usually call ahead but if you order there, it takes about 10 – 15 mins and great people watching. They charge for extras and are a tad stingy. I go all the time.

We have been going here for quite awhile. Yesterday, the used two Styrofoam containers for my daughter’s beans. Here is why, one had broken. Instead of putting them in an entirely different container they took the lazy route. Her beans were inedible. The Styrofoam was all broken to pieces in the bottom… just getting messier and shadier each time… on to the next place

So The Guy and I wanted some dinner and we decided to venture in here! It is dark inside this location and it barely has any décor. However, they had a menu on the outside glass of the building, so I decided, lets give it a shot! Upon entry, we look at the menu that was very high up on the wall. We ordered the half chicken dinner for the two of us and we order rice and black beans. We also ordered the rotisserie chicken tacos. I also ordered 2 extra sauces that were 25 cents each! Really! That was crazy! Either way, I gave the guy my debit card, he never gave me a receipt to sign or anything… very odd! But he didn’t give anyone else one either! Still very fishy! Either way, after about 10 minutes, our order was ready and we took it to go! We started with the chicken tacos first! They were filled to the brim; meat, cheese and pico de gallo. However, one thing was lacking, sour cream or something! These tacos were a little dry! My Guy and I both though they could use something even though the chicken was good! But be careful, I had a little bone in my chicken taco! Clearly, they use the same chicken they cook for the tacos! No biggie, just be careful. However, the chicken, on the other hand, was delicious! I love me some Peruvian chicken and this was extremely good to me! It wasn’t too salty, it was tender and just flat out good! I am a fan of Lima’s in Bowie, never been to Sardis, but I do like Chicken Rico in Waldorf, but this chicken was very good as well! The rice and beans were equally as good together! I enjoyed this food, hands down! I will say that their customer service lacks the service part! No white glove service here! But its cool! I will definitely add it to the list when I am at The Guy’s house! Not too bad!

Uhmmm… NO. Visited here for the first and last time on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 for a quick fix dinner for my BF. I really enjoy Peruvian chicken and felt like this wouldn’t be a miss. Sadly, I was mistaken. The spot is authentic looking but I had a problem with some shady undercover business I think is going on. First of all they do not give receipts… unless you specifically ask and then they say they’ll have to email it to you. This is okay if you pay cash but for those using debit cards and the such, it poses a problem IMHO. I have an issue with not receiving any in-hand receipts these days, especially in light of cyber crimes happening by the minute… I mean they could in actuality be charging your card any amount. I don’t like this. Secondly, I asked for a side of shrimp with the ½ chicken I ordered. The guy tells me it’s going to be $ 1.00 a shrimp b/c the shrimp are jumbo sized. $ 1.00 a shrimp is freaking NUTS but I said okay, thinking they had better be huge… wrong…see picture I posted of said«jumbo shrimp». Huge ripoff. With the amount of restaurants one can choose from these days and the tough market, I can’t see myself returning here, ever. Lastly, I ordered a piece of Sweet Potato Cake and a few minutes after I had already paid the guy informed me that they were out. I said okay, I’ll take the Apple Cake but could he add another piece. Now, most venues would throw that second slice in for free, for the inconvenience of the original cake not being available… wrong. He definitely had me swipe my debit card… again. For those reasons I WON’T be returning NOR recommending. That’s plenty of business that has been lost for this place.

I’m sorry Silvestre Chicken. The only reason you have a line out the door in Fort Washington Maryland is because the people in line do not know about Super Pollo or El Pollo Rico. The chicken at Silvestre Chicken pales in comparison to these two places. It was not seasoned well. It was not hot off the spit. And worse, it was severed with reckless abandon. I had shards of bone in my meat and there was a section of keel bone in with my order of quarter dark. The manfriend and I waited so long, I just knew we were going to receive hot-off-the-spit, succulently-juicy chicken. But no, the meat we received was«old» and«stringy» almost as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp since the lunch hour. Booo! The seasonings were different. Now I realize there are variations in seasonings from country to country; and I do not know which country the Silvestre chain hails from, however, the seasonings on the chicken that we received just tasted flat and wan. No real spice, discernible herbs, or zing. Just salt. Bottom line about severing a quarter dark from a quarter white: there should not be a segment of keel bone with meat attached in the order of quarter dark. Period. No bones about it. Of course with my quarter dark, I had the rice and beans. Here, there are only black beans offered. Oh well, I’ll have those I guess… They seemed canned. Yes, canned. I don’t know what it was about them but I did not get«freshly soaked, boiled with a ham bone» Latin goodness from these beans. I got«Goya — canned»… Oh well… One thing I will give them props on is the rice. As with these Latin chicken places, there was enough rice on my quarter dark to feed a family of four, but that is not bad in this case. This rice is yellow(oooh, pretty) and there are tiny vegetables in the serving. Peas, carrots, green beans, onion, and I think corn. This was a delightful surprise that I actually could not stop eating. As we waited, I had the opportunity to observe other diners and their food. One person had a fajita-like meal and it looked absolutely divine. In that vein, I might return to Silvestre Chicken if only to try some of the specialties from their homeland. Those are probably awesome because that is where their heart is. As for the chicken, I’ll stick to my Virginia haunts. Original Visit March 28, 2014

I found this place off a whim on Unilocal when I was looking for a Peruvian chicken place in Waldorf. I can safely say that this place will be my new regular spot. I got the half chicken with French fries and rice. Everything was perfect. The dessert was amazing also. My hubby got the chicken and steal fajitas and loved them. I can’t wait to try other things off this menu. Matter fact, I’m going tonight lol. I wish I heard about this place earlier. The big CHICKEN sign made me drive right by so I never noticed it. When I saw Silvestre I instantly knew. Anyhow, I’m very satisfied with this place and can’t wait to go back!

Silvestre Chicken was worth the hour drive from my house. I may not be a frequent visitor because of the distance, but each time I come, it is melt-in-my-mouth good! The owner, David, seems to always be there and he is always very helpful and kind when taking my order. My food always comes out promptly too! I’ve had their Peruvian chicken, which is good. But what stole the show for me was the Fajita Mixta and the yuccas! The Fajita Mixta is a combination of steak, shrimp, and chicken. Boy… Whatever they season it with is like crack. Their yucca is also made to perfection. I am always so stuffed after my meal and the Fajita Mixta is only $ 10.95. Please tell me another place where you can get steak, shrimp, and chicken for that price… No where? Thought so!
