I have been coming to Umberto’s for so many years. My daughter’s favorite is the tortellini with prochutto and peas in a cream sauce, the Chicken Marsala is the best in town for half the price and the grandma’s pizza with garlic and basil is crispy, fragrant, and filling the reasons i keep coming back. They are always consistent, tasty and I love the staff George, Daniel and Hector are sure to make you feel like family.

We wanted to get out of the tourist zone so we happened to trip across this place. Glad we did! Pizza was fantastic and George the bartender was probably one of the nicest guys we have met.

The food is really tasty and fresh, the prices are very affordable and what I liked the must about my visit to Umberto’s, it was the nice and easy way the bartender George help me with the order and the drinks, perfect combination of service, food and atmosphere. The only one thing is that the calamari need to be more crispy but that’s a small thing you can specify before order.

If you love Italian food that’s the place to go :)Our favorite place to eat. No comparison!!! We always like to sit on the bar. Stuff is very nice and inviting. Atmosphere is homy, food is amazing. When you come to Umberto’s order anything of their menu without any worries. Everything is cooked perfect and taste delicious. Our favorite is Seafood feast over Linguini with white sauce. Not to forget the best fried calamari ever and for desert Homemade Ricotta Cheesecake is a must. Overall 5 stars for everything: food, workers and atmosphere. Prices are just right for the quality and portions of the food. We will come again and again ;))

Very average pizza. I’m still searching for something a bit tastier. I had dinner there and the meatballs were blah, however the shrimp was cooked perfect. I guess go to Umbertos for the Seafood, who would have thought…

This is one of my favorite places to order dinner when I’m home late with nothing to cook. We love Grandma’s pizza! It’s just the right amount of crust for my hubby who loves thin crust and my love of a thicker crust. You can’t go wrong with Grandma’s pizza I ordered eggplant parmesan one night on a whim. It was ok. It just made me wish I had ordered the pizza.

We recently took our swim team from the State University of New York at Buffalo to Umbertos for a team meal while training in Ft. Lauderdale. The manager and staff were exceptional and the food is outstanding. We have a tough crowd to please being collegiate athletes that have a lot of pasta throughout their careers and Umbertos surpassed our expectations. The service was great and quick. The food was awesome. The team left their full and happy(hard to do because swimmers eat SO much)! We will be back next year when our team is in town for training. We had a great experience.

WINNERWINNERBIGFAMILYSTYLEITALIANDINNER! Thisnplace was Great! The wine was good the food was fabulous! We are visiting from DC and stumbled upon this place and didnt know what to expect and must say we were pleasantly surprised! We had a BLAST the staff and service were on point friendly and they made us feel like family from the moment we walked in the door. They started with the wine tasting and with generous pours we got to try 8 different wines 4 whites 4 reds. Once dinner started the wines took on a whole new life. DAISY our pairing Princess was knowledgeable and kind she had wonderfully funny stories of her family that made the experience feel genuine. If you get a chance TUSCANYS wines and UMBERTO’s wine tasting is a MUST !

Took a cheese pizza out last night. Very good tasty pizza. I like the pizza there better than the food. It’s ok but not my favorite. People love it though. Just my opinion

There are simply soooo many restaurants to order pizza from in my neighborhood — and believe me — this is a phrase of praise as many of them are family owned small but solid institutions. Up in the top five(IMHO) has to be Umberto’s — which is my «go to» for ordering delivery. They’re just up the street on Commercial and while I’ve never actually sauntered in, I’ve ordered here close to a dozen times since moving to Fort Lauderdale. In short, I love their pizza — it’s a medium to thin crust — but with a perfect chew; not the crisp crunch of a cracker that crumbles into pieces, but an authentic doughy chew that contains the exterior crackle and crunch of a well cooked pie while retaining that special umph that makes you feel like you’re starting to masticate some chewing gum as you get going — and then — you swallow a hot and tasty piece of your first slice — a great red sauce that isn’t too unctuous with sweetness and fresh as can be toppings. Whenever I’m craving a carb overload — Umberto’s is my first choice!

It’s not going to kill you. As others have said, its traditional Italian-American cooking. As in not Italian. The menu is pretty much limited to heavy tomato based sauces. The white sauces are pretty thick as well. And have the distinct viscosity of agents added to get it there. The cooking is pretty good. More consistent and better than average. I’ve eaten a lot of seafood there and everything has always been cooked right. Pasta as well. The meats that I’ve sampled have been quite good. Unfortunately, the«Italian-American» sauces sort of kill the dish. There’s zero delicacy. Pan seared and added later is in another realm. Think boiled instead for seafood. Think evenly cooked at moderate heat for meats. Ingredients are average. Your not going to jump up and appreciate anything on your plate. Pretty much what you get at most of the«Italian» restaurants in the area. I find the pizza awful. The dough is thick, coarse, dense and hard. Ingredients are average. No puddles of cheap oil floating on top. Be careful with the wine list. Unless you specifically know the label, this is one of the few places I’d suggest going California instead of Italian. There’s some real rot-gut on the list. It’s pretty much New York Italian food of impoverished southern Italy. For those that like it, it’s heaven. For those that know what real Italian cooking is like, avoid Umbertos. Being a New Yorker I’ve learned one thing. When Italian food is compared to what’s available in New York, assume it’s average at best. Sorry but New York is the culmination of poor immigrant recipes adapted over the years to incorporate more expensive ingredients. It’s a far cry from the rest of Italy and truly fine cooking.

My family and I used to come here often. The last time the food was just ok and decided to give it one last try. They disappointed us. I ordered the chicken parm dinner and got a small piece of chicken. I asked the waiter if it was the lunch portion and he said no. Really ??! He was nice to get me another piece but I have never had one small chicken(no bigger than my fist) as a $ 16 dinner. This place has gone downhilll. Fast. The food was bland, salty and chicken was tough. The service was ok. The rolls are still good but that’s it. Do not waste your money. There are much better Italian places around here. The quality of food was bad. This is our last time. !

Authentic Italian at its best! I normally get delivery so last night was our first«dine in» experience. Greeted right away and seated. Spacious dining area and lit dimly for nice ambience. First surprise was they have a full bar so we placed drink orders. For an appetizer we ordered fried calamari which came out quick and piping hot. For dinners we ordered lasagna, eggplant rolatini and one spaghetti and meatballs. The food is always terrific and the service is superb whether we eat in or get delivery! Highly recommended!

Delicious Italian American favorites and special dishes. The gnocchi in pink sauce was incredible… Served with excellent garlic rolls and a side salad. Their house dressing was perfect. Ravioli was delicious too… Eggplant parmigiana is one of my favorite dishes, and this one features sliced eggplant layers topped w mozzarella. I ordered take out on three or more occasions and was pleased with each experience. The dining room is handsome and inviting… overall I would recommend this spot to you and yours. Check out the full menu online… I look forward to sampling their apps in the near future. The bar partitions off the dining room, and they have happy hour and a daily specials board. Refrigerator of Limoncello and tiramisu in the front entryway. Metered lot parking and free spots too.

I used to go to the Umberto’s on Sunrise Highway on Lon-guylind(Long Island for those of you not from there. Was upset when the location there closed only to find that had moved south… to South New York(new yawk), aka South Florida! Yay! For those of you ex-new yawkas living in the Fort Lauderdale area this is the second best place to go in south Florida for the closest to Longuylind pizza you can find. I give it two pepperoni up with a cannoli cluster.

Without question, Umberto’s(on Commercial) is the BEST Italian restaurant and Pizzeria in South Florida! No Italian restaurant or Pizzeria should embarrass themselves by comparing their place to Umberto’s. Take it from a native NYer, THIS place is AUTHENTIC– no hype! But why believe me– go visit them yourself. I guarantee you will agree with me(unless you’re a friend of someone who owns another restaurant…) I hope Umberto’s is around for many generations to come. Bravo to owners Rosetta and Walter! You’ve got a WINNER here!

They mail out coupons. I ordered takeout and it was ready in 15 minutes. I ordered the Grandmas Square Pizza. It comes with sauce, cheese, basil, and garlic. You must like basil to eat this pizza because that is the strong flavor. The pizza was 16X16 and was only $ 14 with my coupon. The sauce is sweet and mixed with the strong basil and garlic toppings. The restaurant is very nice inside. The takeout counter is right where you walk in. It was a quick checkout process. I look forward to trying the pasta dishes and the coal fired pizzas.
