Tee- Jay Thai & Sushi

Recently I have been very disappointed at this place, the sushi and sashimi have become tasteless, the fish seems fake. Most of the flavor is achieved through the use of mayonnaise and spicy sauces.

My 5 star rating for sushi!
Esp like their Miso soup, but order it without scalion (onion)

This is my favorite sushi spot in Fort Lauderdale! Romantic ambiance and killer specialty rolls!

The absolute best sushi in Fort Lauderdale, hands down! Fresh, clean, amazing service … Haven’t been to any other sushi place in 4 years! The Thai is great too! If you don’t like sushi or Thai, the pork chop is great, my mother orders it every time!
Teejay in Wilton Manors is different owner, the food one on federal is better then Wilton. (personal preference)

fresh and delicious sushi. The menu is quite diverse, with two pages of sushi, appetizers, curries and noodle dishes. There is something for everyone.
For sushi, just as important was the nice and relaxing ambiance. The restaurant was full (actually on a wait) so there was a fun buzz in the building, but we were still able to hold a comfortable conversation and felt very relaxed.
The server was nice, but not overly attentive. Met all of our needs, but didn’t spend much time with small talk and pleasantries.
We enjoyed a nice dinner on Saturday night and will certainly return!

Chill music, nice ambience, lots of twenty somethings texting away. Oh did I mention the food, sorry just ok, nothing special here. Did I mention the cool torches and couches out front.

Again hate posting this because it’s another packed place. Some of the best sushi and Thai in south Florida. Located in a strip mall but with a great atmosphere. Everything is fresh and of the highest quality. Always putting a new twist on rolls and offering several unique specials everyday. It can get pricey but well worth it. If you like red curry try the red curry duck 5 stars it’s very spicy but the flavors are amazing I suggest you tone it down to 2 stars on the spice level if you can’t handle a lot of heat. All of the Thai dumplings are ridiculously good! Have fun but don’t go often because I would like to get a seat also.

Some of the best sushi in Ft Lauderdale. We get sushi delivered from here almost every week. We’ve tried several of the rolls: Spicy Tuna, JB Roll, Tanzana, Kissing roll, Spider roll, Shrimp Tempura. We usually get either an Edamame or Dumpling appetizer to share.
The restaurant is nicely appointed and the ambience is great for a nice evening out also. Whether you dine in or get delivery, you’ll have a smile on your face when you’re finished!

Alright compared to others in the area. They always mess up the to go order. My favorite here is the Chicken Panang has good amount of flavor and lots of chicken. The rolls are a hit and miss. I got several rolls some are good and some that didn’t seem prepared correctly and overwhelmingly fishy compared to other sushi I have ate. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the rolls or pad Thai.

Sat at sushi bar. It’s surrounded by marble. Ordered the Spinach wonton soup. It was good but I was not aware that it had roasted garlic and it was strong, but good. The wontons had a mix of shrimp n chicken. Plenty of spinach too. I had gotten
My free Edaman.

I have to admit it was some of the best sushi we have had in long time.
We will go back again soon.

I have not been back at this restaurant location since it was Sagami’s, but wanted to give it a try. All the servers were polite and helpful, but the food was really the issue. We ordered the Chicken Katzu and white rice for our 5 yr old, but they forgot all about the rice. We ordered 2 Thai Iced Teas and they had the oddest metallic taste. The Tom Ka Khai soup was definitely lacking the coconut flavour, and they forgot the garden salad until we reminded them just before the rolls came out. Then the ginger dressing was so bland, but they don’t keep salt & pepper on the table, and we couldn’t find a server to get any salt until they brought us the rolls. The rolls were fresh tasting and ok… nothing great, just ok.

If you want your iced tea topped with a fly, this is the place to be.
Not only that spoiled my mood and experience, the server’s reaction to finding a fly in my glass was pathetic.
How difficult is it to apologize? I don’t think that’s unreasonable to expect an apology from them.
The food was ok. I would have come back but now the only way I will go there if somebody literally drags me. I am pretty big so yeah, ‘fat’ chance.

Yes, it hit the spot! Great rolls with friendly customer service.
Highlights: Sushi roll was delicious, Tasted fresh with ample quantity, Location was easy to find with good amount of available parking, Friendly staff, Reasonably priced at around $ 16 for specialty rolls, Good décor with a large sushi bar and seating area.
Can improve: Sashimi appetizer was a little cold.
Benchmark: I like my sushi to be non pretentious and as fresh as can be… all for a reasonable price. The only place that delivered that experience was an outfit next to a dry cleaners in New Jersey: Kim’s Sushi
Dined in July 2015 and would definitely return. They seem to have great lunch specials as well.

Really great sushi! I ordered a daily special (selected from the high-​tech iPad menu) that was $ 18, but the roll was 2 – 3 pieces larger than the average priced rolls ($ 12-​$ 16). I felt it was an appropriate value.
We used the edamame coupon from Unilocal for our table of 10+baby. We were well-​accommodated, but could’ve had more frequent water refills. My only negative comment is regarding the coconut soup. The taste was average, but the smell was not good at all — like feet. My guess was maybe the recipe is a little heavy on the fish sauce?
Other than that, all ten dishes were very well-​received! We wished we had sat in the neat traditional tables where you sit on pillows on the floor, but our party was too large. Next time!

Sushi is great here. Finally came here after they were closed for remodeling. Had the spicy tuna and the fish is fresh and delicious. I would rate this one of my favorite sushi places in this area. Classic rolls as well as special chef rolls. The outside seating area is great and the atmosphere inside is beautiful. Had the miso soup and tuna rolls. Everything was good along with the service.

I absolutely LOVE everything about this place! I came for the first time on a casual date night with my boyfriend and we have become consistent customers since then.
For a date– its spectacular. The entire ambiance is to die for and the décor is really something extraordinary. Hidden in the shopping center of Georgie’s Alibi, it is a gem. I walked by and never acknowledged it for some time before finally deciding to go on a whim. Whether for a casual date night with your boyfriend or a first date, THIS is where you need to go to impress somebody without overwhelming them.
I usually order the chicken pad thai or dragon roll. The sushi usually comes with several large pieces on a large plate and is enough to fill one person. The pad thai is delicious as their sauce is something else! I highly highly recommend Tee Jays!

When Tee-​Jay first opened… it was greeted with a warm welcome… the area needed a good sushi restaurant. They built this place up through great customer service… some cool interior décor… dim lights… cool fusion music… and good food.
Unfortunately, sometimes people forget how they built a business and this happens.
.had guests at our home leaving back to NY in about 2 hours… we decided to order sushi before they head back. Called Tee Jay for delivery.
Ordered 5 rolls along with some salads/appetizers…etc.
Driver arrived… quickly set up the sushi on a presentable plate to sit down… but noticed one of the rolls missing. Checked the receipt… we were charged for it… so called the restaurant and asked if they can send it over… they confirmed the order and said let me check.
TJ: Are you sure you don’t have it?
Me: Yes… I’m sure…(even checked the front door in case) …I am sure. Maybe the driver forgot it in the car…
TJ:let me check and call you back.
Me: OK

TJ: Hello… can you tell me how many pieces of sushi you have?
Me: Ok… Let me count…32 pieces.
TJ: Do you see one with eel on it?
Me: No… btw…how many pieces should I have per order?
TJ: 8 per order.
Me: O. K…4 orders x 8 pieces is 32. But I ordered and paid for 5 orders… which should have 40 pieces… I don’t have it… and I really want to sit down for dinner with my guests… I’m sorry… I can not spend more time on the phone… can you please check it… I am sure you’ll figure out what happened.

TJ: Sir… I am calling from Tee Jay…
Me:Yes??? (Trying to have dinner)
TJ:.I spoke to the manager and they said they packed the bag with the full order… you are not missing anything.
Me:Ma’am…please tell the manager they are wrong… we went over this for 10 minutes already… I am really getting tired of this… I did not get my complete order… but at this point… I don’t even care. I have been a great customer for years… and believe me… I do not need to steal a sushi roll from you.
I think we have wasted enough time… I have guests… so do me a favor… forget about it. Just remember… when you locate where my roll went… please tell the manager to eat it and enjoy it… because I don’t want anything from your restaurant again… Have a great night!!!
…and that is how it ended. Ridiculous. I couldn’t believe… are they really that clueless… a client for years… gave the driver a $ 10 tip at delivery… I felt like I was being accused of attempting to steal a sushi roll!!!
POOR MANAGEMENT!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS CUSTOMER TREATMENT… Goodbye Tee Jay… go take classes on hospitality and management. I am done!

Completely love this restaurant. Came here for the first time last week with my boyfriend and we were extremely satisfied with our experience. To start we ordered the snow beauty (unfiltered sake). It is my absolute favorite and any time a restaurant has it, we order it.
Instead of doing a traditional meal we ordered a series of appetizers. We had the jalapeño hamachi, Thai dumplings, spring rolls and the monster roll. Everything was delicious. The only complaint I have would be about the thai dumplings. They don’t give you very many, it comes in an order of 4 which is depressing because they are SO DELICIOUS. Service is very good and the prices are fair. This is definitely our new spot and we would recommend it to anyone.

When I used to live closer we used to order delivery from Tee-​Jay on a regular basis, they have an expansive menu of sushi and Thai to please any craving. I hadn’t had Tee-Jay’s in about 3 years since I moved and they don’t deliver to my new area, but my friend was craving sushi so we went for lunch, I had forgotten how superior their food is! Consistent and delicious!
The restaurant is clean with a very nice ambiance, a larger bar, and service is very attentive. The food was phenomenal, my friend ordered one of the sushi boats and couldn’t stop smiling and saying how good and fresh everything was. The food is great and they also do a wonderful job with the presentation. I highly recommend this restaurant and if you live close they will deliver.
