Weird burger joint. Server forgot to offer salad dressing for the salads. They actually charged us for water. What a waste of $ 40.00! Oh, well. Live and learn. ;(

I’ve been to this place three times and both of the recent were for terrible and expensive brunches where we also had bad service and were served cold food. I had a fish sandwich that came out on a cheap soft hot dog bun. This time I apprehensively came with friends who wanted to visit. I had the turkey burger which was way too salty. My fiancé was served cold food. We both had beers and sandwiches and our bill was over 100 $. I will never come back to this place which is sad because it’s such a pretty patio and great location. We had to keep waiting and waiting for our server to bring new drinks too.

I came here this past Saturday night with a buddy who was visiting from out of town and had heard good things about Sweet Nectar. Our experience was just OK overall, but due to very slow delivery and below average service(albeit from upbeat and friendly staff) and some other misses, I can really only give this place a bit more than 2 stars, which in Unilocalspeak means«Meh. I’ve experienced better». We arrived at just after 7:30 and were told it’d be about an hour before a table for 2 was available to us. No big deal as the hostess took our cell # and we meandered down the street to grab a drink. About 20 or 25 minutes later, Sweet Nectar was calling to let us know our table was ready. We were seated and given menus when we returned, and so many things on the menu looked great! This place features tapas and small plates, a few raw bar selections, and also a list of items that they prepare inside on their charcoal grill. As one other reviewer mentioned, on this night they were not allowing anyone into the actual restaurant and I saw no seating in there as the entire place was filled with smoke from their indoor charcoal grill. In fact, to use the restrooms one had to walk around the side of the building and use a side entrance, and they had curtains hanging between the restroom area and what was once the interior dining space. Our server was busy on this night and had a large table of a dozen or more that he was also waiting on. He was speedily moving around and was outgoing and friendly all night, but unfortunately the delays from the kitchen and bar staff really killed it for him. We ordered a draft beer and a glass of wine. Simple enough order, but more than 10 minutes later he came back and apologized, telling us the bar was backed up and still working on our orders. When I ordered a second beer a bit later, it was exactly the same story. The tap for the Funky Buddha Floridian I was drinking was literally 5 feet from me, I could’ve simply poured my own several times over in the time it took the bar staff to do it. Sad. For our meals, we ordered several plates to share. My buddy ordered the lamb lollipops, croquettas and soft tacos. I ordered the beef sliders and the lobster mac and cheese. The food took a very long time to prepare, though it came out in stages as each dish was ready, which allowed us to complete one dish before others were brought to the table. After we’d eaten all the aforementioned food we were still a bit hungry, so he ordered the chicken meatballs as well. It took so long for those to be brought to the table and we were so over the painfully long wait times for all our food and drink(not to mention having to extend our parking sessions due to the delays with our orders), and the lack of attentive service that my buddy finally called our waiter over, told him to disregard the meatballs and just bring us the check. The server apologized and explained that there was about a 30 minute preparation time for each of their dishes… Even a small plate of meatballs. As we were waiting on the check, the waiter appeared with the chicken meatballs, explaining that they just became ready. We polished those off, finished our drinks, asked for the check and left. With the aforementioned food, my friend having 3 glasses of wine(which were rather stingy pours) and I 3 draft beers, our check came to around $ 140.00 before gratuity. I’m not taking issue with the prices, as everyone who’s done tapas/small plates style dining knows that the prices are usually high considering the small portions, but the wait times for everything were simply unacceptable, the service lacked polish and attentiveness, and though I did think the lobster mac and cheese was very good, most everything else I tried was average, the chicken meatballs tasted more like sausage to me.

Better than the other restaurants that have occupied this location. Good was pretty decent. Definitely recommend the lamb sliders. Apparently restroom usage is an inconvenience and not aesthetically pleasing. We sat at the bar, while convenient, seating is uncomfortable. Also food took FOREVER to get. But it is made to order. I’ll think about coming back…

I have a connection with sweet nectar. I find their atmosphere to be very original. Mainly I’ve come for few cocktails. In the summer it’s so lovely to sit at the bar that’s outside and just relax with a summer drink and enjoy the beautiful breeze. Their staff is very friendly and very talkative which I think makes a really good restaurant experience. I did order food this past time and unfortunately I did not take pictures but the food was delicious. Presentation was fabulous and I wanted just to keep eating more and more. Sadly there was a fire of some sort so the interior was closed I’m not quite sure what the story is but it would be nice for that information to be out to the public who plan to come and dine in. This place though which is dear to my heart for personal reasons is a place that I will continue to support and come back.

Nice place, well decorated and with plenty of tables outside. The food is fairly good, but too pricey. The portions are quite small too. At least the drinks are well prepared. But still, Not a good place to go with a large group of friends or family.

The food is great but the service is terrible, had to wait for an hour for the order. People around us just went without any food after 2 hours of waiting — their orders were lost! P. S. The visit was on 30th December

We passed this place in walking the last time we were on Las Olas. We are fans of outside dining and non-commercialized restaurants, so when my husband said«where to?» I instantly thought of Sweet Nectar. I’m so glad we did! We were greeted with a smile and were told we could sit anywhere we pleased. Once seated, we were instantly brought menu’s and iced cold water by our waiter Adrian(fabulous server). He explained to us what Sweet Nectar was all about and was very attentive and informative when we asked questions. We ended up going with the… Short Rib Empanadas with curried yogurt dip — Amazing! They were just the right crispiness, light, and delicious. We loved the curry dip! Angus Beef Sliders — They were a nice size and had great flavor. Lamb Sliders — So juicy! Loved the goat cheese spread on the lamb patty! Jerk Chicken off the Charcoal Grill — Delicious! The chicken was so thick and juicy and had just the right flavor. My husband and I also ordered two drinks, both were the deliciously made! Overall we had a great experience! My only comment to the owners would be to perhaps have a kid-friendly menu for those parents who do stop in before bed time! We will for sure return when we have a sitter because the food, drinks, price, and service were enjoyable.

My wife and I stopped by while leisurely strolling down Las Olas. We were just burning time before our flight in the evening. They had a very nice covered sidewalk bar so we bellied up just wanting a couple drinks. Service was attentive but they weren’t very busy. After a couple drinks(my wife said her Sangria was awesome) I wanted an appetizer. I read a lot of good reviews and a lot of bad. We only had 2 appetizers but what we had was great. I can’t remember what appetizer I ordered but the bartender politely said they were out of it so she would bring an appetizer she picks for free. Can’t beat free and she brought us chorizo stuffed dates. I’m not really a fan of dates but I don’t hate them either. They were very tasty. Usually the sweetness of dates overpowers but there was more savory flavors going on and a roasted red pepper sauce to balance it out more. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was phenomenal! I was hesitant to order it because of bad reviews where people said there wasn’t enough lobster. Maybe the consistency of the dish varies but the one we got was LOADED with Lobster. There was more lobster than pork belly. The Bechamel was perfectly thick and cheesy. Definitely top 3 I’ve ever had. When I’m on Las Olas again, which I’m sure I will be, I’m definitely stopping in just for the Mac and Cheese. It was filling too and probably enough to make it an entrée. After 2 drinks and 2 apps we were pretty stuffed.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is the best! On the weekends for brunch, the bottomless Rosé mimosas is a plus and a must! The first time coming here, I had the waffles, but since I’m writing the review today, I’ll tell you what I had today! My boyfriend ended up getting the Challah Bread French toast, which was absolutely delicious, along with duck bacon, which I thought was interesting since I’ve never heard of it before. I had a taste for something savory so I ended up trying something different and got the Red Salsa Chilaquiles that comes in a castor iron skillet. Let me tell you, as delicious as it was, it was just too spicy for me that my boyfriend ate half of it. I highly recommend going to this place!

Nah. Not digging it. Made a reservation for a late night dinner after an event I had nearby. Arrived on time and requested inside seating. «No,» said the waitress«are you sure you want inside? It’s full of smoke!» I looked inside and noticed. Was this a one time occurrence or is it always that smoky because of the grill? Yikes. Luckily, it was a cooler than usual night on Las Olas and their fans helped so we settled with street-side seating. We ordered a pitcher of sangria to begin and many plates to share throughout the night. Sadly, not one thing for which I must return. ANGUSBEEFSLIDERS: best of the night. Perfectly juicy and with a caramelized bacon relish. GRILLEDFISHTACOS: mushy mess, just OK. SHORTRIBEMPANADAS: not enough filling, too much dough. Just OK. CHORIZOSTUFFEDDATES: on the small side, just OK. LOBSTERPOPCORN: cold popcorn and the lobster had an odd grainy texture to its outside. Disappointing. CHOCOLATE&NUTELLAFONDUE: «Where is the Nutella?» I asked. The waiter pointed(with his chin) towards the container with chocolate in the middle. «It’s inside?» He nodded and left. Hmmmm still not sure where the Nutella was. Was it mixed into the chocolate? Was it supposed to be on the bottom of the bowl? The most lackluster fondue platter I’ve ever seen. On the off chance I am ever here again, perhaps I will stick to the grill section of the menu. That must be where their strength is and not everything else. After all, the place was very full! Service was also just OK. Our glasses were filled often enough and we saw our waiter to place orders. He didn’t say much otherwise. Overall, with the exception of the sliders, just not impressed. REPLYTOOWNER’S MESSAGEBELOW: Thank you for your prompt reply. I was there on 11⁄3. I will try some things from the grill next time.

I came here with my boyfriend and our two friends visiting from out of state. We just wanted to stop in for a quick drink and ended up very disappointed. To begin, we all waited about 5 mins until we were actually acknowledged. Our bartender acted like she didn’t have any time for us even though the entire inside of the restaurant was empty besides our party and another couple seated at the bar. They all ordered beers and I got the Deez pineapple cocktail during happy hour. Their beers were all warm and no one ever came back to check on our satisfaction. My drink was actually pretty decent. Apparently during happy hour it is 2−4−1 beers. My boyfriend and our friends sat for 28 minutes and no one ever came by to ask if they wanted another… Uhhhhhh? My boyfriend and I have passed by Sweet Nectar numerous times and wanted to try it but it is honestly a bust. I would NOT return here if someone paid me. Oh, also they have a Unilocal check in offer for a glass of prosecco… For ladies only… Only on Tuesdays… Only from 7 – 9. End of story– this place is a trap and full of shit.

great atmosphere, great server! Manager was cool too Nice place to hang for drinks I had the fish tacos and it was with skin and grossed me out ! I’ve never had fish tacos like that! Also an 8 $ sweet potato??? It wasn’t even that good my poor friend didn’t even eat it ! So I won’t be back for the food however the drinks were strong so that makes up for my shit food !

I’m kind of surprised by the so-so reviews of this place, as my experience here has been nothing short of fantastic! First, all the food I’ve tried has been great. For brunch, everything was perfectly cooked and presented in a very appetizing way. Order the Spicy Chorizo as a «side». It’s not really spicy, and it’s a fresh chorizo, so it’s juicy and succulent. But, the best part is that it’s cooked on the charcoal grill! Also, even though it’s a side, they give you two large pieces per order. I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it’s ridiculously flavorful, and you really taste the charcoal(which I love!). I’ve tried lunches and dinner, too — the lobster mac and cheese is wonderful. And the Spanish charred octopus is out of this world! Everyone does Brussels sprouts nowadays, but not everyone does them this well! And this is hands down, a great place to get a well crafted cocktail in a chill setting. Happy hour specials are great, and the drinks are stiff. Great selection of beers on tap, and their wine list is unique and reasonable. You can go for a decadent brunch, hang out and day drink your lunchtime away, or enjoy a casual and delicious dinner with unique wines. Tell me — where is the bad part?!

We were taking a stroll on Las Olas and looking for a place to eat. Sweet Nectar looked interesting so we decided to give them a try. The patio is really nice and it was a cool night so we sat outside. Our server was prompt and really friendly but it seemed like our food took forever to come to come! We ordered the skirt steak, seasonal roasted vegetables, crispy fried chicken, roasted brussel sprouts and jumbo prawns. Overall we left thinking the place is overated. The food was just alright portions were small for the costs. The steak didn’t have much flavor, fried chicken took forever and the vegetables were morsal from a tiny garden. I pretty much could have made everything we had at home for much less. The drinks were good but also super expensive. We liked the DJ but weren’t sure if to order and spend more or just head out and catch a late night bite later. Maybe its a tourist trap, who knows, I’ve heard good thinks about Las Olas, I guess this one was just a miss for us.

Alex, We were seated right away(the food is what took 45 minutes to get to our table) Also, neither my mom nor I drink alcohol. We were there to have dinner. We appreciate your response back.

Service on 3.15.15 was outstanding and that changed my mind, now 5 stars, i also LOVED the grilled chicken sandwich. The last time I had the soft shell crab BLT and wasn’t blown away however this time I was. With a prime Las Olas location you gotta get it right and they did! Thank You. previous review: Cute little bar/restaurant on Las Olas. It’s indoor/outdoor however indoor is pretty small. We out outside and it was a nice view of Las Olas. They serve a lot of different selections and many are in tapas style so you can share.(Keep in mind this may mean some items come out before others so if you are in a big party and everyone orders individually the food comes out at different intervals.) For a Sunday brunch I had the unlimited mimosas(yummy) and the crab cake BLT. Looking back I wish I would have tried a few of the smaller items because I did like the BLT however I wasn’t in love, I was picturing a crab cake on a BLT. there was a LOT of B, some L and some T(and some A… avocado) but the crab was fried and had little legs and I guess I was just confused. It was good but wasn’t really what i had in mind. the French Fries were delicious though. A gal at my table ordered the french toast which looked *amazing* as did the fritatta and brussel sprouts. I’d definitely go again but next time I am getting breakfast item because they all looked so yummy!

Walking around Las Olas on a Sunday afternoon and decided to check it out. The outdoor area was nice and cute, but the inside had a completely different feel.. closed and dark. There was a big disconnect. Not sure if it was because it was the middle of the day or what. But if you decide to come here, I would recommend sitting outside. We only stopped in for a few bites, but what we tried was pretty good. Just wish that the portions were a little bigger. I get that its a tapas style restaurant but even for 2 people, the portions were a little small. We had the — Spanish octopus: aji panca coulis, it had a nice char on the octopus. For the price, i believe we only got 3 tiny skewers of the octopus — Lump crab toast: lumps of crab served on a soft roll. Again, it was 3 small pieces of the toast. — My rosy cheeks cocktail: azunia organic platinum tequila, agave nectar, passion fruit purée, chipotle pepper, fresh lime and a dash of house made grenadine. This was a great spicy and refreshing drink to have on a hot afternoon. Overall we had a good experience here and thought that the food/drinks were pretty tasty… Only thing was the portion sizes. Not sure if I would go back to eat here because of that. But i would definitely go back for another My Rosy Cheeks cocktail.

Not impressed at all. Service was terrible. No hostess to greet us. We had a reservation which they didn’t care we had. It wasn’t that busy. Inside Bartender told us to just sit anywhere. Had to ask multiple times for water refills before finally getting them. No apology offered. My friend ordered a coke and they never brought it. He went inside to inquire(since our waiter was not around) about coke to be told the coke machine was out. They bring the food out at random times, so everyone in your party eats at different times. My friend asked server to describe turkey wing. He specifically told her it was a leg. It wasn’t. It was a wing. The Brussels sprouts were well seasoned and salty. I’ve had better elsewhere.(Dapur) The skirt steak was tasty, but fatty. The bbq pork wing was good but overpriced and small. We sat outside which is a nice ambience in the winter. Inside was louder with music. Overall, the food was just okay and not worth the price. Service was awful. I will not be returning when there are many better options around town. There is metered street parking nearby.
