Authentic from the greeting as we came in the door to the family conversing in the eating area to the capable and attentive staff behind the counter. The croissant was amazing; rich chocolate inside, buttery, flakey texture outside. Tried a nice sampling of other beautifully made pastries which were all quite good and reasonably priced. Just got plain coffee and it was delicious. A sweet, lovely shop just off the hectic beachside path.

Food was delicious and the service was great! There were 4 of us for breakfast. We all had egg dishes which came out delightful… eggs were light and fluffy… the olive bread was freshly baked… and th coffee was my favorite

Nanou French Bakery is truly as good as it gets! Great place for catching up around a coffee cup and croissants with friends in the morning. Fantastic place for a quick lunch, and at a walking distance from the beach to pick up sandwiches and enjoy the Floridian sunny beach. The bread is awesome, and so are the pastries, and the staff hospitality and kindness are second to none. I recommend the place wholeheartedly! Patrick

I agree the panini bread was hard but I had taken my toasted sandwich to go & ate it 20 minutes later(I’m sure if you go in and ask for softer bread they will suggest something.) I thoroughly enjoyed the macrons! I tried hazelnut, passion fruit, pistachio, vanilla. The vanilla one was the best! Lots of choices for pastries. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and give them another try. The service was great & they were very helpful.

Cute idea, and I’m sure the pastries and such were delicious, but the sandwiches were not worth the money. Bread was so hard, and my panini was dry with darn near nothing on it. Would definitely not come back for lunch. Plus side, fresh squeezed orange juice was AWESOME.

Because new owners have spoiled my once favourite coffee shop(Damn!!!) I am on the lookout for a shop closer than the delightful Pan e dolci. So, to Nanou. The salads are almost unbelievably good. The bread, similarly, is so good as to not need either butter or filling to be eaten with great relish. The little macaroons are cheap at $ 2.40, given their taste, texture and all round wonderfubulabrilliantness(new words are necessary here… existing ones are inadequate). So, have I a new world’s favourite coffee shop? Nope. I love this place. Love the ladies who run it. Love the tucker… But the coffee is ordinary. It is pod-brewed tat; it is drinkable, but given the sheer brilliance of everything else here, the coffee is the disappointment. That said however, it is a bakery, not a coffee shop, and nowhere does it say anything about good coffee.(Which is appropriate). Anyway, second rate coffee brewing aside, I will be back.

So fantastic! The bread was baked this morning!!! Croissant was light and fluffy and buttery… omelette was decadent. Gelato and macaroons for dessert after our breakfast ;) Authentic French bakery… the owners are present and are clearly passionate about their craft.

They have wonderful coffee(cappuccino) and the breakfast sandwich was good, but a bit too much French bread in my opinion. They didn’t seem to have the variety of breakfast items that I had expected from the reviews. It’s a nice place, but beware of the parking, it is tight. They take Apple Pay

Stopped by here after a run. We had a chocolate croissant, which was light and airy and perfect, and an egg, ham, and cheese croissant which was out of this world delicious. People are friendly, desserts look fab, but didn’t have one, and the macaroons are great. Would stop by for lunch another time, the menu looks interesting.

This is one of the most delicious and authentic French bakeries I’ve been to. It blows the French bakeries I go to every morning in NYC out of the water. We got a chocolate croissant, an almond, chocolate and cheese pastry, lattes, and a sandwich called Le provincial… and all were phenomenal. This will definitely be our new go to spot whenever we visit Fort Lauderdale. Cant wait to go back and try more things. The

The panini was great and used a whole baguette so I definitely did not leave hungry. We were the only ones in there at the time, but our food came out fairly quickly. While we did not have any of the pastries, they looked wonderful. It definitely had a French ambiance, which gave it a very authentic feeling. I would definitely go back for a nice low key breakfast or maybe an afternoon treat.

4.5STARS France, the land of aesthetic beauty and the fountain which birthed elegant women to the world. Western civilization may have started in Greece, but it owes its propagation and continuation to France. The French have not only mastered renaissance art and poetry, but French cuisine has become the embodiment of culinary decadence, the modus operandi for urban sophistication. Located in a stand alone building about 200 yards from Fort Lauderdale Beach, recently opened Nanou French Bakery has been spoiling us with their delicious baguettes, panini’s and pastries. For women its all about the macaroons, I personally don’t eat them because they’re too girly. But I did buy some for my Ukrainian friend and she absolutely loved them. bit.ly/1oUdeyv The macaroon’s are actually made by a woman who is not a part of Nanou, she even has her own cash register. For me it’s all about fine wines, crepes, baguettes and pastries. Over the many times I’ve visited Nanou I’ve tried their chocolate filled pastry, chocolate filled éclair, lemon meringue and goat cheese panini and some of their in house made breads. The Results~ The éclair was soft sweet and absolutely delicious. I had no idea the French also made them with chocolate filling, previously I was only aware of cream filled eclairs. The lemon meringue was tangy and lemony, definitely an excellent treat. I periodically pass by to get the chocolate pastry, I can’t remember it’s name. Its soft like a croissant with two lines of chocolate inside of it, its not sweet but has a mid-mild chocolate flavor. Its like eating a croissant with chocolate filling. The goat cheese herb of providence panini was kind of surprising, it came out really thin, I was kind of expecting something a lot thicker. But even is its minimalist appearance it was robust, flavorful and satisfying. I absolutely love how everyone who works here are all French with thick accents, I’m assuming the bakery is family owned and operated. Everyone who works here is very friendly. Having the Nationality of people creating and serving the food makes the experience feel authentic. There’s nothing worse than than going to a Castilian restaurant with a live Flamenco performance, just to be served by someone who looks and sounds like Lil’ Wayne or Jim Carrey. ++decent size indoor eating area ++they have a couple of outdoor eating tables in a shaded area ++there is metered parking accross the street, if their lot is full ++they daily bake baguette’s and ciabata’s etc ++they take CC’s

While the food is very good, the service is a true challenge! Disorganized and many of the staff does not speak good English — French natives-again the food is tasty. I ordered a sandwich with Brie and grapes which I love. It came out after an extremely long wait given only 2 other people in the café– with no grapes. When I inquired they said the grapes were not good, so they didn’t put it on. Didn’t ask if I wanted something else just served it that way. Upon asking she did not offer a fix– I suggested apples which they did get– at least it was a bit crunchy with the 2 slices of Apple. Oh– they don’t have quiche everyday.

Came here for breakfast with my. Chose this spot based on positive Unilocal reviews. And I was not disappointed. I had the omelette with spinach, Swiss and ham on a baguette. I also treated myself to an almond croissant. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. It’s a quiet little spot on Las Olas right off ft Lauderdale beach. French bakery run by French folks. Love it!

I visited here for the first time with a friend and it was everything and more for a little French pastry shop. The owners/counter staff were all very warm and kind. The fresh squeezed orange juice and ham croissant did not disappoint with fresh fluffy buttery goodness in each bite. It was quickly consumed with a memorable flavor that will bring me back to try more items. Upon leaving, I also ordered a personal spinach and feta quiche to go along with a lovely wrapped box of macarons my friend gave to me. I very much enjoyed the quiche for lunch and will definitely get it again. I did sneak a taste of one of the macaroons and it was very light and fresh. I had never had a macaron that had the fresh light taste and texture of this, and I must say it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back for more.

I’ve lived on the east side of Fort Lauderdale for 25 years and always hoped someone would open a nice little café or coffee shop that is off A1A and not full of drunk tourists. I drove down to the beach today for a gorgeous Saturday stroll and swim and decided to stop into Nanou French Bakery. It’s a cut little, clean well lit place and you feel like you’ve stepped into Paris. Of course, being the dumb gringo that I am, I have never been to Paris but I heard it’s nice. This, in fact, is my new slice of heaven right off the beach. I had L’omelette, which is a really nice egg omelet with Swiss inside a fresh baguette. I also had a nice cup off coffee and enjoyed Ireland v. France in Rugby. The place was full of French locals and visitors and had a nice vibe to it. My fear is that the location, on the corner of Las Olas and Seabreeze Blvd. is both an advantage and disadvantage. It’s easily accessible if you just pull into the big corner beach parking lot on Las Olas because Nanou has limited parking. You can also park in the lot adjacent to the Las Olas Bridge. But at night this area is well… full of drunk tourists. Either way. I loved my new Bakery seaside in Fort Lauderdale with a taste of Paris and everything wonderful that involved. I wish the owners well and will be bringing my friends over to see what they are missing. I gave them 4⁄5 stars because I reserve 5 stars for places like The Crust in Naples, but make no mistake, this is a little gem on the Atlantic that I hope will be here to stay for a long, long time. Magnificent.

It’s new, you can tell with the signage and all. The espresso machine nespresso pod was a damn good cappuccino. I don’t care if it came out of a pod, ¾ of this country drinks coffee out of a pod and loves that crap from green mountain Keurig. The atmosphere was«new». I sat outside and loved sitting with my wife, relaxing before catching a UBER ride to the cruise ship terminal to take a cruise further south. This family run business is fantastic and I’ll be back if cruising again.
