My husband and I often enjoy breakfast or lunch at Mom’s. The atmosphere is friendly and the wait staff is wonderful and work together to make sure you get anything and everything you want. Breakfast is very good and diverse and lunch is wonderful. If you order an open turkey sandwich be ready for a big helping of fresh roasted turkey that makes it feel like thanksgiving!

Great breakfast !! I had the blueberry pancakes and home fries. It was a beautiful thing. The pancakes had plenty of blue berries… the home fries were perfectly crisp. The service was friendly and fast. I’ll definitely be going back. My buddy had the veggie omelette and raved about it as well.

Service absolutely sucked today! Sat down and ordered coffee and water while we looked over the menu. Fifteen minutes later, not one of the 7 waitresses could make their way back to check on us or take our orders. I paid for our coffee, voiced my displeasure and left.

We are locals and often go for breakfast. The service is always great and the food comes fast. However on the weekends during breakfast rush, plan to wait for a table. The homefries are probably the only thing I don’t like on their breakfast menu. They’re bland and blah. Even spicing up with onions and salt and pepper doesn’t do. So I just don’t get them now :) Now their pancakes… I LOVE. I wish they had sweet tea… but other than those minor things… which aren’t life changing we enjoy going there!

After a lackluster and overpriced hotel breakfast yesterday, we were on the hunt for a local diner with good food and character. Mom’s Kitchen answered the mail, with homey décor and classic diner fare: omelets, hash browns, grits, toast, bottomless coffee. As with any neighborhood diner, I would counsel to go for the omelets or griddleworks over the benedicts. The spicy beef omelet in particular did not disappoint, like a veggie omelet with meat chili on top, the hearty progeny of a few eggs and a burrito. The grits were creamy and satisfying to this Virginian; enjoyed mine and half of my one-year old’s. All in all, they do good work; pay them a bisit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Came here on Mothers day after church, and I knew a lot of my friends who I went to high school with would come here on half days, but I never did until recently my grandmother wanted to come here for mothers day. The Mothers day menu looked really appetizing. I ordered the banana pancakes and they were not fully cooked, we also found HAIR on our utensils as well, not to mention they forgot my bacon as well and the service was not that good FOUR tables who were seated after us 2 of which parties larger than ours got their food before us, needless to say never coming here again.

Another place I’ve been driving by for years. Something about this street makes me not take establishments seriously because they look old from the outside. I shop at Smittys for my meats but never took a shit at Moms I am so glad I took the plunge. You can’t judge a book by its cover. What a cute place on the inside. The food is great and believe it or not, it comes out the way you order it. The service is attentive and very friendly The prices are ridiculously low for the quality of food you get I’m sold and will be coming back

Big portions. Good prices … Fast service … Friendly staff… Minus a star because it lacks parking stalls.

First things first, there is extra parking in the rear of the building. Enter through the common corridor into a classic diner atmosphere. We were promptly greeted, seated, and asked for our drink order. The drinks came quickly and the server was ready to take our order. Thumbs up! The menu offered a wide variety of options, including and extensive specials menu(See Pictures). I ordered the Super Farmers Special– add cheddar. Scrambled eggs, mixed with potatoes, ham, onions, peppers and an English muffin… Cooked perfectly! My coffee was good as well. My other guests said the pancakes were excellent. It should be noted that they are tough customers too… Our food came within minutes and it was delicious! What more could we asked for? Well, I would only have asked that there not be several mosquitos flying around inside. We were able to take out a few, but more remained… This is what almost kept me from giving this place 5-stars. However, I don’t think I caught the West Nile Virus from my visit, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that this was an isolated incident. I will be back!

This place always hits the spot whether it’s breakfast or lunch(serving both at anytime) it comes out fast fresh and consistent every time. It’s a decent sized place with maybe 25 or so tables but man does it get busy. It opens early at 6 and the old timers must be lined at the door but again for good reason. This is a suscessful diner and has been for many years. The owners wife is usually present and is extremely pleasant. The waitresses never let the coffee dip below a half cup and before I even stir in the creamer I swear the meal is coming out. The speed of that kitchen under a full house is amazing. The prices really are great no two ways about it, it’s practically about square with Dennys but the food is 10 times as good. I will continue my treks there indifintly it really is a gem of a little family owned diner and sadly those are becoming far and few between in south Florida. The hustle here locally to open new gaudy restaurants almost daily and to hire untrained staff is a theme Moms knows nothing about and cares little of, it’s pure bred old school and they do a damn good job of satisfying their long-time patrons.

No ocean view. No trendy décor. No college-age staff. Just honest food at great prices. This is where you go to eat not to impress your friends. My coffee cup was never empty. We went for breakfast and had eggs. toast, grits etc.

A real gem. I had not visited this wonderful diner in over 10 years and as I drove by it the other day I thought we are eating there this weekend! Our family went for breakfast on Saturday and it was a good as ever. It truly is a wonderful diner. I had a delightful spinach, bacon, Swiss and mushroom omelette and my husband had another one similar to mine that he loved. It is kid friendly and had a super clean baby seat(which is sadly a rarity in restaurants).

Your typical dinner, tables and booths, jukebox and dated décor. Service was friendly and fast. I stopped in for an early breakfast, my order came out quick, but I was a bit disappointed in the quality since this place has so many great reviews. Toast tells me a lot about the place, for example if a restaurant makes an effort to serve quality food they will also serve great toast, the kind where they bake their own bread or at least offer a nice thick toast made of fresh bread, Mom’s kitchen serves regular toast that tastes straight out of a pre-packaged bag. I ordered eggs over medium with ham and cheese grits with orange juice, they do not have fresh orange juice. The ham was on the thin side, the eggs were cooked right, I requested cheese grits and they slapped a slice of processed American cheese on it, normally I like cheddar. As soon as my food was delivered the server put my bill on my table, the cashier counter is right by the entrance. I was expecting better quality on the food, it was mediocre.

The reviews here are all over the board. We found ourselves in the area and gave it a go. I ordered a veggie omelette with hashbrowns/homefries and asked to sub the toast with more potatoes. Hubby had the waffle with a side of potatoes. When the order came out I was missing my extra potatoes and was informed that they didn’t do that(would have been nice knowing that when I actually ordered!!) but she(different server than the one who took our order) offered to bring me some applesauce. That bland applesauce was much better than the potatoes anyway. The omelette was tasty enough. I won’t comment on the waffle or syrup… just know that we lived in VT for two years and my husband opted to put jelly on the waffle. Now, after that you may wonder why I bothered to give 3 stars rather than two. Here is my reasoning, this is a diner… I was expecting diner food and I got it. The atmosphere was nicer than several places we have visited recently. You can tell that this is a place mostly patronized by locals because of the interactions between staff and customers. It was mostly reasonably priced, the staff was pleasant for the most part, and nothing was super terrible… and this was my first visit… likely I won’t be back for breakfast because we are still exploring the area and there wasn’t anything super memorable here. There is still a chance that we will give it a go for lunch though… even though there are only a few vegetarian lunch options.

Great breakfast and lunch spot. Since its a bit back from Federal Highway by a block or two, it’s definitely not got the notice of the tourists. And that’s a good thing. Cheap eats, lots of it. The burgers are excellent so I hear, but today was a breakfast visit. Therefore, I ordered the omelet as it appears on the front cover of the menu — spinach and feta with home fries and toast. Yep, that’s what I got and it was quite good. I’d have this again. Or a burger. Crowded, but crowded with locals. I thought that the three Wurlitzers on display were pretty awesome but I forgot to take a picture. Note: This place had a brand new fresh sealed ketchup bottle on the table. Not a refill! NEW and still sealed. Way cool. Oh, and I particularly liked the hand sanitizer dispensers on every table!

Mom’s Kitchen is a little out of the way for me for a normal breakfast spot, in fact I didn’t even really know this area of Fort Lauderdale existed, but I needed to pick my car up at Funky Buddha after Savanna M’s second birthday celebration left me less than capable of operating a vehicle. I put breakfast into the Unilocal app and came up with Mom’s Kitchen. We were probably on the early end of the Saturday morning breakfast rush around 9am so there was no problem with seating or speed. The décor in here is fun with old jukeboxes and all kinds of pictures adorning the walls, and model planes flying from the ceiling. There is also a ceiling fan pretty much every five ceiling tiles. I was impressed that although there was so much going on décor wise, everything was clean and organized, no dust bunnies, not even on the fan blades, which I know from my own house cleaning ventures can get very dirty. For diners that have somewhat of a reputation of being a little grimy, Mom’s Kitchen is far from it. The menu is a decent size, and they serve breakfast all day. They also have about a page of «specials». Looking at other’s pictures and reviews it doesn’t look like the specials change that much over time. I ordered an omelet from the specials list which was filled with spinach, mushrooms, and feta cheese. It came with a choice of potatoes or grits, of which I chose potatoes, and a choice of bread, of which I chose an everything bagel. My boyfriend was starving. He ordered the eggs benedict which also came with the potato/grit choice, and he added a side of bacon. Just as the waitress thought we were finished ordering, he added, «and a side of banana pancakes». After we all finished laughing about the fact that banana pancakes were his«side» the orders were up pretty quickly. I enjoyed my meal. The portions were large, and I was impressed with the quality of the bagel. The breakfast potatoes need a little salt, but I would rather add my own than have the kitchen make them too salty as sometimes diners can be way too heavy handed with the shaker. I didn’t’ try the eggs benedict, but the banana pancakes were heaven. I would definitely recommend getting that«side». Mom’s Kitchen is located inside a small strip mall, and you have to walk into a hallway before the restaurant entrance, so don’t get confused. Definitely a worthy breakfast spot with friendly service and a good value.

Yep this diner has been in existence since 1972 and it looks it. And I don’t mean that as a bad thing. The tables are pretty close together so be prepared to say hello to your neighbor. The service was efficient and quick. The food was exactly what I expected, basic diner food so that was good. There is a parking lot out back in addition to the parking spots out front. And you pay at the counter as you leave. Efficient, courteous, clean and filling. What else do you want in a diner?
