The prime rib was phenomenal! I really enjoyed the entrée included a trip to the salad bar. Staff was very friendly and polite. Service was quick. Reasonable prices for a steakhouse. Make sure you get your steak medium at the most if not you are ruining it, you might as well get your steak at Friday’s.

Took one hour to get my food but waitress was very apologetic and said she would buy my dinner. I hope the manager comped it but thought he should have come by my table. The steak is good and who doesn’t love a salad bar? I’d go back but the kabob is all that’s in my budget($ 18)

We are in town for a few days from DC, and were in the mood for fat steaks. We had eaten at Chuck’s a few times some years back with my grandparents who live in the area. Chuck’s is what I’d consider a traditional American steak house: thick cuts of red meat, baked potatoes with copious sour cream, a salad bar with iceburg lettuce, cheddar and bleu cheeses, bacon, croutons galore, ranch dressing. Sure, it’s all a little pricey, but you’re paying for a nice cut of beef. The well-marbled ribeye is always a good choice. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a nice IPA on draft. No complaints.

Ive been searching for a steakhouse like this for awhile, large steaks and salad bar takes me back to the good ol days. The prices are pretty reasonable and the service is outstanding. The salad bar is great and even though my wife’s steak was sent back it was so good of a meal. Tip here on steak selection is top sirloin is best when medium or medium rare. It’s a tough selection for those that like well done. Go with the ribeye can’t go wrong with any cooking method but all steaks seemed to be very good

Had enjoyable soup and salad bar for $ 15(choice of French Onion soup or soup of the day.) Mixed lettuce was only choice at salad bar. Good assortment of salad topppings. Assorted bread selection also. Nice, casual atmosphere.

The thing I like best about Chuck’s steak house is their salad bar. It’s very fresh and has some really good bread and crackers to choose from. I’ve had their ribs and they were okay to me, but I’m really partial to cooking ribs at home where I like them the best. I’ve had their hamburger and fries, and that was a good meal. The hamburger is big and juicy. Last time i was there I had their prime rib and that was delicious. We also had the potato skins and they were very good too, but only 4 on the plate which I thought was skimpy for the price. They have a full bar if you enjoy having cocktails. Chuck’s is an institution since it has been around for years and it has a certain«throwback to the ’70’s» feel to it which also is appealing to me. Since I’m not really a steak eater, the one thing that brings me back here is the salad bar. I wish more restaurants would go back to having them.

My wife and I are from Connecticut and frequently dinned at the Danbury location which I understand is the flagship of Chuck’s. I must say we were not disappointed in our visit to this location last Saturday night. We were greeted at the entrance and informed it would take 20 minutes for a booth or we could sit at a table in 5 minutes, we decided to grab a drink at the bar and then dine at a booth. The bar is an older clientele than Danbury, but very nice, drinks were prepared properly and priced accordingly. Our waiter took our order for PrimeRib, but warned us it might be to late because of all the orders that night. He was right, but he tried(great waiter). We ordered two New York Strips that were perfect. Only reason I give 3 stars and not 5 is my wife found the ladies room in need of a good cleaning.

I loved the Chuck’s Steakhouse on 17th in Ft. Laud. It was sad to see it go. Recently tried the one on commercial Blvd. To my delight it was awesome!!! Thank you to the servers and management… Great service and food!!! My new dinner spot. Salad bar was fresh and my steak was perfectly cooked.

Six of us met here for dinner and a get-together. We were seated promptly at a round table. This was good because some of us have difficulty hearing other members of the party at a rectangular table. We got our drinks and ordered the food. It has always been my impression that a restaurant that calls itself a steakhouse should be able to cook a steak medium if that is what is ordered. Not this time. My steak was ordered medium and came to me medium-well. My wife’s steak was ordered medium-rare and came medium-well also. We should have sent them back, but we were with family who we hadn’t seen in a year and a half and did not want to upset anyone. Oh, and the often touted salad bar was mediocre at best with a predictable assortment of veggies. It’s too bad because this was once THE steak place in Fort Lauderdale.

This was not my first time at this restaurant but it was my first bad experience. I ordered the prime rib and my wife had the pork chops. More than half of my prime rib was fat. What was more upsetting was that when I bought it up the waiters attention his response was that it was normal for prime rib. I think it should have been brought to the manager’s attention. My wife’s pork chops were also tough and dry. One thing I can say is that they do have a good salad bar.

I give this place 2 stars because we had a very nice waitress and got good service. Regrettably, the food does not deserve any star. I had the teriyaki sirloin and my husband wanted the prime rib but they did not have any left(at 7:00 pm?!) so he had the bone in ribeye. The salad bar is extremely mediocre with few choices. Meats were tough, nervy, cold in the middle and ribeye not cooked rare but served raw. For the prices charged this place is definitely not worth it.

Service my the attentive Sharon brought this four star review up to five; but she was easily assisted in this extra star by a chef who knows the business of how to make a good ribeye sing — this one was large and in charge and marvelous. My French onion soup opener was also good but while not perhaps on the menu of one suffering from diabetes or trying to lose weight(who could that be?), the mile high(OK, a lovely extra large slice) of cheesecake is clearly a dream of ricotta and lemon zest that is obviously made in house, all you fans of Juniors in NYC, best come try a slice of this magic because Chuck’s will show you how it’s done.

We have been patrons for over 30 years and love this restaurant. Tonight was the first time we had a server who was completely disinterested. We loved the music! Darrell House is my favorite performer in all of South Florida! We love Chucks food, and it was great tonight too, from the Escargot to the Prime Rib, it was fabulous! Really, really great! But, our waiter was the worst ever, we talked to the bartender twice about it, never saw a manager, and were ignored after we spoke up for a long time. I have to say we were very disappointed in the service. We were sad to see the lack of a manager on the floor, who may have remedied the situation.

Wow, now I know why their is no wait in peak season at this place and is filled with old people. The steak tasted like frozen steak from Wal-Mart that has gone bad. The service is so slow and should have listen to everyone that told me not to go there.

Chucks is a nice neighborhood gem. We used to go like clock work almost every Friday night but burned out I guess so now we go infrequently. Parking is usually not a problem, some metered so bring your quarters because the ticket police will get you when you’re not looking. Once inside the hostess will greet you. For years it was Jan or Patty but last night there was a new girl. We asked for a seat around the bar and she kindly obliged. Friday and Saturday night they have live music and the bar patrons usually sing along and dance. The bartender Dawn is amazing and often joins in to sing duets while pouring cocktails and never misses a beat with either. The menu is fairly basic but includes some choice cuts of beef including some of the best prime rib in town. There’s also chicken, fish, crab legs and ribs. They have a great salad bar full of fresh toppings to make the perfect salad including beets(wifey loves them) and plenty of tasty dressings. There’s also peanuts, croutons and toasted crackers to finish it off.

Went to celebrate a belated birthday and it was very disappointing after going here so many times over the past decade. Service was spotty at best, but the 2 stars is because of the food. We ordered our Sirloin steaks, one as Medium and the other Medium Rare. Both were cooked as Medium to Well. We have a rule of never sending back food, but these were just done wrong. You would think it would have gotten better, but the replacement steaks were very different cuts & so fatty that I couldn’t enjoy it at all. At least I enjoyed the salad bar & baked sweet potato.

We went here based on the recommendation of a bartender at the golf course when we asked where he would go for a steak dinner. Very good recommendation based on both price and quality. We were a party of 4, and were seated immediately. Several other reviews have mentioned the salad bar, and it was very good. I ordered the Prime Rib and was very pleased with it. Far to often the delivered slice is half fat, but this was all meat! Baked potato and vegetables were very good also. Everything was as good or better than much higher priced steakhouses in the area.

Revisited this place that has stood in this spot for decades. There’s a twilight menu($ 14.95 per dish), regular menu, and a specials board. We started with the house Cab(my first choice was Chianti but it’s only offered by the bottle) and an appetizer of jalapeño poppers. You can get these anywhere, and they were ordinary yet good. The salad bar looked fresh and housed all of your typical salad ingredients, as well as bread, but I opted for the Caesar. Not nearly the best Caesar salad ever, but a-ok. I ordered the chopped steak with sweet potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. It was cooked to order and very tasty. I both love and hate the fact that sweet potatoes now come with a tub of cinnamon sugar … love because it’s so good yet hate because it’s so not good for you but too tempting to pass up. My friend enjoyed the prime rib dinner with a side of steamed veggies and an au jus sauce that was delicious. Entrees average $ 20, and in addition to steaks there are a Salmon dinner and chicken dish. Free parking, tables & booths, a few tv’s surrounding the bar, and friendly service … overall an A-Ok place to grab dinner if you’re in the area.
