Loved it! My husband and I received a recommendation from the hotel we are staying at. The service was great and food was terrific. This will be a staple for any future visits to Fort Bragg.

Loved this place! We ordered the bruschetta combo, pollo parmigiana, spaghetti al pesto, tiramisu and another dessert that I can’t remember the name of and finished it off with an espresso. Everything was delicious and the staff was really great. We were treated to live music the night that we went and it made for a very enjoyable evening. The bruschetta combo was delicious! The garlic was intense, the standard bruschetta was both crisp and flavorful and the sausage and cheese was a nice change up and flavorful. The chicken parm was very flavorful and easily equal to the best I’ve had. It came with roasted asparagus(yum) and potato(also yum). The pesto spaghetti was a very rich and intense pesto sauce with a lemon kick. I loved it but after about half of the dish it started to be a little too rich for me but the flavor was phenomenal! The tiramisu was easily equal to the best I’ve ever had. The staff was awesome and attentive and they helped each other out which made me feel like it was a good family run place that people actually enjoyed working at. Thanks for a wonderful dinner and evening!

Enjoyable restaurant, fun atmosphere. Service was mediocre. I had the shrimp on noodles in olive oil sauce. The noodles were really good, shrimp was seasoned perfectly but over cooked. I’d give it a second shot, maybe it was an off night.

Very relaxed and traditional atmosphere and food. Great service and food is prepared to perfection. Old school Italian recipes with a young hip staff.

Simply the Best! Of all the restaurants we visited in Fort Bragg, Luna Trattoria was our favorite. The Italian Proprietor takes great pride in his restaurant and works hard to provide an excellent dining experience. I ordered the Orecchioni with a sage and butter sauce that was wonderful. Everything was made from scratch and the flavors were delectable! A small restaurant with a pleasant ambiance, a bit pricey, but well worth it!

Agree with the previous reviewer. 5⁄5 for the friendly staff, location and the genuine italian experience. my wife commented how it looked just like a small restaurant we went to in rome where the food was fantastic. 3⁄5 for the food. the antipasto selection is good. the bruschetta was great. however we did not like the pastas we ordered, the spaghetti pesto and the farfalle della nonna. the pesto was strong and both were quite heavy with cheese. we will come back next time but will ask the servers for recommendations as the dishes seem to taste a bit different.

5⁄5 service 2⁄5 food Small atmosphere with friendly and personable staff but food wasn’t very good. My wife had the spaghetti al pesto(the pesto was so overpowering it tasted like spoonfuls of pesto out of a jar) and I had the penne al salmone. The chunks of salmon were chewy and salty. The sauce covering the pasta and salmon tasted like a bitter tartar sauce. Neither of us enjoyed our main dishes. We both agreed that the Caesar salad that arrived before our main dishes was excellent though(salad was a separate charge). Staff and waitress did an awesome job(personable, accommodating, friendly). Overall though, the food was not tasty and it was pretty pricey. Wouldn’t come back.

Had the most amazing Italian dining experience here. I ordered the Ciopino and felt like I was back in Italy. The sauce had the slightest kick to it that went extremely well with the Primativo wine I paired it with. The tiramisu for dessert was delicious as well. The presentation for both made the dining experience truly wonderful. The wait staff were extremely polite and easy on the eyes. I would definitely come back here next time I visit Fort Bragg.

Gnocchi Pesto is sumptuous, delicious fresh ingredients of basil, pine nuts and cream the special ingredient melting in your mouth with each bite. Presentation is artful and beautiful making you hungrier than when you first ordered. Cannoli is freshly made with a crisp cinnamon shell and soft sweet chocolate chip ricotta filling that is to die for. So good. I wish I lived in this neighborhood so that I could eat here at Luna’s often. I’d increase my running it’s that good.

Simple, excellent Italian food. It looks like it is run by a lovely Italian family. All the dishes we had were very very good — pasta with grilled shrimp, minestrone, gnocchi cream sauce, steamed mussels, linguine with white wine clam sauce. The restaurant was packed. It does not take reservation. We were there at six and waited 20 minutes for a table and 45 minutes for food. Patience is the virtue here, but once we tasted the food… we plan to come back again tomorrow. P. S. Italian desserts were very yummy too!(Panna Cotta, Semifreddo, custard Italiana, and cannoli).

We came in early-ish the day before the day before Christmas. Nearly empty, but going by Unilocal reviews(I try to read between the lines) there were no real alternatives for our desire for Italian. My imagination is that their history goes back to the Eye-talian trend in the 50’s, but have upgraded the décor(with natural tone wood), non-dark colors and lots of lights. The store-front bay windows make it look like a kitschy gift shop, esp. since you can hardly read the name on the windows. They said the diorama in the windows changes seasonally. As the evening went on it filled up with a charming assortment of locals; even the proprietor’s friends/relatives visiting from Italy seemed to know everybody. We lingered over wine and dessert just to watch the show. The pasta was fine, a notch or 2 below North Beach in San Francisco in both refinement and price. I got a complimentary shot of lemoncello, though not their home-made, which the host said they couldn’t sell. The Primativo/Zinfandel by the glass was a good enough deal. Look, for some strange reason you’re in Fort Bragg. You want adventure? Knock yourself out. Otherwise, you can play it safe and try Luna.

Fantastic service and welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are very happy and playful. The chef loves to come out and socialize — even sharing some words in Italian. I’ve had a lot of Italian food, and this place is one of the best. I had linguini in wine sauce and seafood mix, stuffed mushrooms(I could make a meal out of that), and Zinfandel. They give generous portions so be prepared to take home leftovers or share. They greeted me «Ciao, Bella!» on my way out. The staff were all apart of the experience.

We loved our dinner at Luna Trattoria so much six months ago, that when we returned to Ft. Bragg, this was a «must return.» I had the grilled prawns with a light pasta with tomatoes and olive oil. Jack had the cioppino. It was a bit on the spicy side, but delicious. For dessert, the berries with cream and chocolate mousse pie. Can’t wait to return again. Oh, and the Navarro Pinot Noir is a must.

Get the Orecchioni(i go with the meat sauce) and get something more basic and traditional like the spaghetti and meatballs with the marinara. I’m from a big family of New York Italians and usually NEVER go to Italian restaurants because they are nothing like what I had growing up. I love being shown the error of my ways. This place is top notch. great service, a fun place for group of birthday, and the bar side is more intimate with several couples on dates. Highly highly highly recommended. Way better than a few Italian places in Spendocino. Plus there are some local bars around the corner with games and music to help you work off the carbs.

I visited this restaurant while vacationing in Fort Bragg as we were looking for a nice Italian restaurant and because of the amazing Unilocal reviews. When I stepped inside I was a little skeptical at first. It was fairly small with a bar next to several tables. However the place stemmed very homely and Italian themed with candlelit dinner tables. I went off the reviews to peer and got the Cabrese and my girlfriend ordered the salad. Our wait was not long and the server was amazing. They also celebrated three bdays while we were they and came out and sang happy birthday while playing maracas to various people and gave them a free piece of cake. The food here was beyond amazing. Definitely a winner. The Cabrese was made with a white sause and bacon !! It was definitely Delicious!!! I highly recommend this one

The food was amazing, however, the service was was sub par. I called ahead to reserve a table for a party of six. Upon arrival the table was set up and the server was very attentive. She took our order(without writing it down). This would have been impressive but she had to come back to the table to confirm what we ordered because she forgot half the order. The kitchen did not synchronize our entrees to come out at the same time. Each meal was brought to the table 2 – 4 mins apart and the last entrée did not arrive until about 15 mins later. Our food was cold by the time we were all served. We asked the server to bring more water to the table but it never arrived. If the food was not so amazing I would given this place 2 stars.

While in town for one night, my husband and I had dinner here. Service was really friendly– we were immediately greeted and always felt attended to. The food was pretty good too– we had polenta with meatballs, Cesar salad, and the farfelle alla nonna. We shared all three and I was stuffed at the end. All were really great and classic, though not creative. I think the biggest area for improvement would be the décor. It was just weird. It was more like Mardi Gras than Italian? While the food was good, the décor kept the atmosphere friendly and casual(if not goofy) so I wouldn’t come here for a nice night out. I also think the prices for the pastas are a bit high given the casual atmosphere. Still, it was a tasty and friendly dinner but nothing too memorable.
