I had just place an order about 2hrs ago. This is one of the worst experiences I ever had ordering food. The girl who answered was rude, the food was a half hour late. We are ONLY2min away down the SAME street, gave the girl specific directions to our facility, she never took note of that. The food was horrible. The cheese sticks were hard, they forgot the sauce, the fries were greasy and cold. The lettuce was wilted, the bread was hard. The CHERRY on top was… the driver made us come down from the second floor to get our food, she would not get out of the car. The only thing they could credit us was cheese sticks and a two liter. Im soo upset!!!

I don’t know what everyone is talking about in these reviews but this is my favorite location for Damenzos. I think the quality of the food is much better at this location then any other due to the fact that they are not as busy as other locations and are not in a rush. The jumbo cheesy beef is out of this world. It was enough to take home and save for later. Warmed it back up in my oven a few hours later and it was just as good! I suggest getting the beef with the juice on the side. The pizza is also to die for! Good authentic Chicago style pizza! You also have to try their giant pizza puff! Portions at this place are unbelievable! You do not get this and any other places in the city.

The quality of the food has gone down since we first started ordering from Damenzo’s. We ordered a large pizza & they were too lazy to chop up the bell pepper-big huge chunks of bell pepper ruined the already sloppy pizza. We won’t be ordering from this location for a long while.

Was very surprised at how good this place is! We ordered delivery on a whim. I work close to this place as well as live and have never tried it before but I’m so glad I did! Portions are huge! Prices were more than affordable and the woman who answered the phone to take my order was extremely nice! Will definitely be back.

I have a bunch of different sandwiches here and all were huge and good. The chips and salsa are also homemade and very good as well. We have always dined in. The service is always slow, but thats the way it is…

You know how most Calzone’s is usually the size of a small pizza folded in half or how you might want to sink your teeth into a dipped Italian beef while holding it in your hand? Definitely not the case here. The Calzone was more likea medium/large pizza and the Italian Beef came in a tray. Both could be shared with… o say 3 people and you still would have leftovers. Delicious and satisfying is all I’m saying. **caution** the online menu needs an update. The prices have went up so just ask the price when ordering.

I stopped in thinking it was a pizza spot named Di Nicos since I heard their food was good and both names started with D. Since I was there already I decided to stay since I was in a rush and didn’t have time to find the other one. It was in the early evening & it wasn’t busy, which was good because I wanted to be in and out. I ordered a slice of sausage and a steak taco. It came out to be $ 7 and some change. It was money well spent. The slice was huge and the taco was big and stuffed with cheese, cilantro, lettuce and onion. I loved it. This just might be my new pizza spot. I’ll have to confirm that by going again a few more times soon, just to make sure it wasn’t luck.

I’ve tried two different calzones here and they are HUGE, made fresh, and they are not stingy on the meat. I was really excited to finally try this place after passing it by for so long because of its unimpressive exterior. Inside it has a much better pizzeria feel and is quite good.

This place was recommended to a group of us on a recent trip. The pizza slices are double the size of a regular pizza and cost as much a two regular slices. I order one of their salad and it was awful! It had enormous chunks processed of ham and Turkey with very little greens and cheese. The place is small and the way the tables and chairs are organized make no sense. When the place is packed you must walk behind a wall to reach the other section of the dinning area. The service is very, very slow, they do bring the order to the table for you, but coming from NY their pizza is nothing to brag about.

1st time here & it was pretty good. I wanted to try a slice, but instead ordered a large sausage/pepperoni. It was fresh out the oven & cooked to perfection. The pizza was the bomb! Service was really quick. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Came in to this pizza place for a quick meal. It was the first thing we saw and we were hungry and we figured you can’t go wrong with pizza right? Lol When we walked in it was kind of confusing where we needed to order especially because none of the three people behind the counter greeted us or even spoke to us. We just kind of lingered for like 5 minutes until one of the guys motioned to someone already waiting for their food and then he finally decided to acknowledge us. We had slices of pizza and fries. The pizza slices were huge which made it weird to eat because the plates were super small by comparison. The crust was thin and tough to bite. I expected more crunchy since it was a thin crust but my little guy refused to eat the crust. In fact he refused to eat the pizza entirely and that is strange because this kid asks to eat pizza for every meal. I honestly have been to other damenzo’s but I will not be returning to this location. They definitely left us with a bad taste in our mouth.

When did this place open? Why was I not properly informed!!! The slices are very big and quite good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but probably the best in the area. They have a very strange menu… That includes a lot of Mexican options… In a pizza joint. I would stay away from that.(Especially since Ino’s is right down the street) Strange menu + friendly staff + Above average slice and a pop for $ 5.50 = 4 stars.

Ordered a small Damenzo special pizza and this had to be the worst pizza I’ve had in a very long time. It was beyond disgusting.

I FRIKKINLOVETHISPLACE. Ok that having been said, the place is nothing to look at inside, the dining area is strictly fast food serviceable. It’s ALL about the delivery/take out here. The slice of pizza and drink for $ 5 is the most ridiculous deal in town. The slice is literally big enough for 2 people and my partner and I will often split one. You simply can NOT beat it. Crispy awesome crust, great toppings… perfection. The Italian menu is also crazy good. The order of fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken is DELISH and literally enough for 3 people to share and at $ 10 is a CRAZY value. The lasagna is also wicked good. Not fine dining Italian by ANY means but for what it is, it ROCKS. Oddly, when you consider who’s cooking in the kitchen, the Mexican menu isn’t up to the same standard as the pizza and the pasta. Don’t bother with it. Had some delivery issues the first few times we tried getting delivery from them but they seem to know where we are now and it’s not a problem. Totally worth a visit or a delivery call!!! Concept C Execution C Menu B Service B Quality A Value A Grade B

Consider this a two-and-a-half-star, take-the-good-with-the-bad review. GREATDEALS — SLICEOFPIZZA: $ 4 for a pre-historic-sized slice of pizza is REE-DICULOUS. This thing is so big, it’s like getting a medium-sized pizza for $ 4. — ALLPIZZA: is very reasonable, BUT… — JUMBO-SIZEDPIZZA: It will turn heads. It’s huge. And for a large party, a few of these will please the crowd. Great for kid’s birthday parties, etc. — PASTA: Giant pans of pasta for $ 9 — $ 10 that will feed three as an entré or six, seven, eight as a side to pizza. Consider adding this to your jumbo pizza order for a super thrifty catering solution. WHAT’S GOOD Nothing really stands out as exceptional. — TURKEYPANINI: Is pretty good. — SAUSAGEPIZZA: Is also pretty good. INSIDERTIP — CARRYOUT: Don’t. If you order ANYTHING other than pizza for carry out, they probably won’t start making it until you get there. I don’t know why. You can have an in-depth conversation about timing and they will disregard. It’s EXTREMELY frustrating. And they’ve received less of my business as a result. Unless you’re getting a pizza, order in the store or get it delivered. — FRIES: I’m not a fan of the giant pile of soggy, unsalted fries. I don’t think anyone who eats there ever eats the fries because they fall short of mediocre. But they come with many of the sandwiches. And there are ample quantities. Damenzo’s should remember that they’re doing business in Forest Park – a village that SHOULDBEFAMOUS for fries considering Duck Fat’s Parmesan Truffle Fries(and the Duck Fat Fries), Submarine Tender’s Butter Garlic Fries, and Amelia’s WAAAAYOFFTHECHAIN Garlic Fries that are double-fried belgian-style. Step it up a little, Damenzo’s. Please. — PIZZAPUFF: This is a calzone, not a Chicago-style«pizza puff». It’s a HUGE pizza dough pocket that is BAKED, not fried. Picture a pizza that has been folded in half, not the absurdly delicious, deep-fried, ILTACO food product that would have your cardiologist throw up his hands in futility. IN A NUTSHELL: This place is mediocre, but has it’s role in the fast food ecosystem of the area. I will go again. And under certain aforementioned circumstances, I would even recommend it.

There are pizza joints all over this area. Some are good and some are not so good, all for a wide variety of reasons. Damenzo’s is a semi-regular visit for me(once a week). Location is central to all the places I end up during the week. It’s open pretty late on weeknights. Huge pizza slices for only $ 5 with a drink. I don’t care how long that pizza has been sitting under the heat lamp. It’s pizza! You can eat pizza that’s been sitting out all night and cold the next day… and it’d still be good. They heat it up and it’s fast and delicious. Folks who work there are great as well. Don’t hate this place for everything it isn’t. For what it is, it’s pretty awesome!

I’m a little surprised by the low scores here so I guess I’ll only put out my opinion for the pizza we ordered the other night. This place gets 5 stars for their pizza alone! My husband and I ordered a pizza with pepperoni, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms and I’m certain I could’ve eaten the whole pizza that night! The cheese on the pizza is amazing! It’s creamy and stretchy and delicious! The veggies on the pizza are nice and thick… no skimping here! After 2 pieces, I was already getting full, but ate 2 more because I couldn’t stop myself. It’s definitely a messy pizza but well worth it in my opinion! Saprino’s and other pizza joints we’ve tried in the area can’t touch it!

Great food, good value and kid friendly. We had pizza and eggplant Parma. Very fresh ingredients. Waitress was super nice and brought the kids crayons and books. We just ordered sandwiches this week for take out lunch that were amazing. It was«the special» on ciabatta bread, get it hot. Super yummy. We will be biking here this summer to get sandwiches for the park. This Taylor Street original is a fantastic addition to Forest Park.

Damenzo’s Pizza is the newest restaurant to open up in Forest Park and I have to say they aren’t all that bad. I had been there three times in about as many days as they have been open(mostly due to convenience of location) and have had generally good and attentive service. The first time I had gone I got the pizza slice and a steak taco. The slice is roughly the size of a large Rottweiler’s head; the crust was light and airy; the sauce tasted pretty fresh but seemed to be lacking a little flavor, and the cheese had the right amount of flavor without being overly salty. The taco was just your average taco, although their salsa verde I would say was well above average. I’m skipping to the third visit as I had gotten pizza on the second. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. They actually brought me out linguine(I didn’t care) and the portion was gigantic. The marinara is similar to the pizza sauce, pretty good but still lacking something, and the meatballs were huge and weren’t anything special. Well overall I like the place. My only qualm is that their prices are a little too high(a $ 4.50 delivery charge), aside from that I foresee Damenzo’s doing just fine in Forest Park. Oh, I forgot to mention a full bar available on May 1st.
