Good pie. This is my first time in the city and wanted the real deal for NY style pizza. It was reasonably priced too. My only real issue is that I dined in and for some reason they had«It’s a small world» playing over and over again. That didn’t encourage me to linger over my dinner.

This is such a disappointment I order tortellini with Alfredo and fry egg plant ant this is what they sent saggy old eggplant and no flavor Alfredo sauce for 14 $ I did not expect it to come from Italy but at least have some kind of quality control

No doubt about it: this place has solid, reliable New York pizzeria style fare. In my forty years of life, I have noticed these types of institutions are dwindling, giving way to poor facsimiles owned and run by non-Italians using cheaper ingredients. I’m really glad I found this place. Haven’t dined in yet and I may not for the foreseeable future, but have ordered on a moment’s notice a handful of times and have been pleasantly surprised every time. Solid New York pizza. Nicely rendered beef patties and other bread-based sundries one expects to find at these venues. I loved the stromboli, which was unique compared to other places. But by far what really amazed me was the price point. I’m not sure how they avoided the prohibitive uptick in pricing that has made me think twice about ordering from other places now, but God bless them for it! I hope they are able to keep it at that plateau for a while. D’Angelo’s may just be a run-of-the-mill neighborhood pizzeria, but the price to quality ratio earns this place an easy five stars. Bravissimo, guys! P. S. Are there REALLY people who wrote reviews critiquing the service they received for orders made during January’s brutal snow storm? These are the things that make me weep for humanity. Instead of showcasing your obscenely overinflated sense of self-importance on the internet, why not redirect that energy towards addressing your laziness and inability to cope reasonably with emergency situations? It’ll be more helpful in the long run, I promise.

The delivery time was over an hour. more like 90 min, they forgot my carrot cake and marinara sauce. Pizza was cold. The food is great but jeez.

Solid pizza and other italian dishes. They recently underwent renovation and came back like they never left. They opened up the back space and added more tables. Nice for a quick bite. Affordable and delicious. Love their ham and cheese calzones and tutta carne pie. Honestly, I like everything I’ve ever had here. Service is also fast and efficient with a smile.

So let me set this review up, it was after the blizzard so I understood that deliveries would take a while but 3hrs and no courtesy call for update is ridiculous. So I placed an order for 1 large pie after 2 hrs I called the restaurant and ask for an update and even told the rude guy on the phone that I understand it would take longer due to the storm. He told me the driver is out already and should be there soon, the 3rd hour came! Still nothing, so I called seamless cancelled my order, got my refund and placed an order at J&D Pizza– my order arrived in 35 mins! This is definitely the last time I will ever order from D’Angelos! I normally like D’Angelos pizza and price but they messed up big time!

Like everyone else who reviewed this place in the last two days, I am also calling them liars, cheats and rude. I ordered via GrubHub about 6:10 or so. The order went through fine. Please keep in mind any restaurant is able to adjust if they deliver via GrubHub, depending on any factor they want. My order arrived close to 8:00. The delivery driver could not find the house and we went out to him. He said nothing and took our money, including the extra tip we gave him in cash. Some of what we ordered was missing. I called the restaurant, and was told the driver was supposed to give me the money for the missing food. I argued with the guy who said he was the owner, and eventually hung up. GrubHub couldn’t get him on the phone just a few minutes later. Suspicious, isn’t it? Also, please keep in mind that he would have my number so he could have called me. Do not patronize these guys, and urge seamless, GrubHub and all online delivery services to give them a black mark.

Get the personal pizza made fresh and eat it there. It’s perfect. Pepperoni, gooey cheese and a crisp crust. Perfection!

I ordered from Seamless Web on 1⁄23. This was when the northeast snowstorm was going on. I will just paste the body of my e-mail to Seamless below. I highly recommend not ordering from here. They are liars, they are rude, and I don’t know how the food tastes because I never received it. There are enough good pizza places in NYC and Forest Hills /Rego Park to not give your money to these folks. I would recommend, Nick’s( ), Lillian( ), or Dante’s( ), all of which have much better Unilocal Reviews. —– Let me first say that I understand that the snowstorm is creating a tremendous burden on Seamless/Grub Hub, and creating a difficult customer service environment for both your company and the numerous restaurants that operate on the platform. And because I understand that, I think I took a number of steps to be an understanding and generally reasonable customer. I ordered from two places that were open earlier in the day in my parents’ neighborhood(where I am staying for the weekend): T-Bone Diner, and Austin House. Both took deliveries and when I called to follow up on the orders, T-Bone Diner informed me that they were closed, and Austin House didn’t answer the phone after multiple tries. I have sent you separate e-mails regarding ensuring that these charges do not show up. Also, I understand that you don’t have perfect information on every single restaurant on your platform and why they were taking orders on Seamless if they were closed. I get it. However, on the third try, I became a bit wiser and called D’Angelo’s ahead of time to confirm that they were taking Seamless orders. This was at 6:08pm. They confirmed that they were in fact open and taking orders. I then placed an order(6:20pm time stamp below). As you can see, the delivery estimate was 6:55pm — 7:05pm. I realize that the snowstorm conditions obviously delay their ability to deliver under ‘normal operating’ times. I called at 7:40pm(half an hour later than their usual estimate), and I genuinely did ask politely if my order had already gone out for delivery. The person told me that yes, indeed, the order had gone out and that it was on its way. I need to double-check my phone but I believe I called once more to confirm this. I then called again at 8:22pm(two hours after I first placed my order, and nearly 1.5 hours after the usual delivery time). The person who answered the phone gave me a very rude«the other person you spoke to has left, we are closing up shop, and we are not doing any more deliveries. The person you spoke to must have been confused.» When I asked why the other person had essentially lied to me, the response I got was a: «what do you want me to do?» As I said, I understand that the storm creates unusual challenges. That being said, had I been informed of this two hours earlier, I would have been able to go out and potentially get something else for myself and my father, whereas that possibility has doubtless diminished now that it’s 8:45pm. I do not appreciate being lied to, and I don’t appreciate the cavalier approach the restaurant took — it was basically a «it’s a snowstorm, we’re drinking from the hose here, and I don’t care if you’ve been lied to multiple times by our employees. Too bad, we’re closed.»

The food here is pretty good, pizza is tasty. My only issue would be the prices. A regular slice with mushrooms was over 4 $. That’s a bit insane. I had to do a double take, of course I paid it cause, ya know, it’s yummy pizza! Maybe the high prices are good, will make me eat less!

Great pizza spot with an abundant menu. Came here on my lunch break a few times. The prices are also fair. The staff are very nice and pleasant people. Very clean, and awesome customer service. A+++

I would like to give them 5 stars* but they somehow manage to overcook the bottom of 90% of the food that comes out of the oven. There were multiple times I found traces of charred pieces of food stuck to the bottom of the pies & other baked foods. They’ve recently done renovation of the place so I was hoping they’d fix this issue but I guess they haven’t gotten a new oven along with the renovation. Other than that, their service is great & friendly. Prices are more than fair.(They even offer coupons for discounts) The taste of their food is pretty great for the price. Overall, this is a great place to eat in/out if you’re on a budget.

Lots of kinda of pizza and other treats to chose from, including vegetarian, which is great for me as I don’t eat cheese. The vegetable toppings tasted a bit watery, but I ate it anyway. Gave it four stars as perhaps I was unlucky, but if I come back again and it’s again mediocre, I’ll change rating to three stars. Staff was friendly. Dinning room was under renovation, only has window counters. No bathrooms at this tine.

After working down the street from here I became a regular. The staff is very friendly. If your hungry and want to grab a quick bite then this is a cool place. Sometimes unruly teens crowd the place after school. The pizza is okay but nothing to write home about. There greek salads and grilled chicken salads are very good. I do think my fav has to be their zeppoles.

Delivery review. It took about 45 minutes which was the estimated delivery time. The pizza is thin and the sauce is good but the crust was soggy, particularly in the middle. The cheese kept falling off my pizza but not in that good cheesey way.

I would definitely think twice before ordering from this place. I ordered from them for the first time this past Wed night(Apr 8) through . I ordred a cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks and tiramisu. I know — what night of healthy eating, huh? Anyway, food arrived around 7:30pm. The cheesesteak was very unimpressive. Steak had a weird taste to it. Bread was slightly stale. Mozzarella sicks were rubbery. Tiramisu was not good. It was a slice of a tirmisu cake, not an individually made tiramisu cup that I’m used to with Italian places. The worst part was that about four hours later at 11:30pm, I began feeling nauseous. Stomach cramps mostly. Went to bed but felt horrible and could not sleep. Eventually had to get up and had diarhhea twice within 20 minutes. Shortly after that, I violently vomited. Threw up a lot of the D’Angelo’s food I had eaten. Vomited again five minutes later. Had more diarrhea. Tried to sleep but had such stomach pain, all I could do was lay there and try not to think about it. Woke up the next day with all-over body aches, more stomach cramps, more diarrhea. Actually went to a gastroenterologist. Described my symptoms to him. When I told him I had eaten food I got from delivery around 7:30pm the night before, he said he was sure it was food poisoning from that food. At any rate, it’s now Sat morning(Apr 11) as I write this, and I’m only NOW feeling about 100% back to normal. The lesson here? I would not order from this place again. Either the food is tainted or someone there is not wearing gloves or washing their hands. In any case, I haven’t had a worse two days that the two I just had from the sickness this food gave me.

D’angelo is a hit and miss, truly my last resort for food. I only had pizza twice and never again, For Pizza I usually go to Nicks on Ascan st. Now back to D’Angelo what i really do enjoy from this establishment is their hot sandwiches, I recommend you ask for the sauce on the side in order to avoid a soggy mess. So whats safe at D’Angelos 1. Garlic Knots 2. Hot Sandwiches 3. Chicken parm or veal parm
