The fries were good but probably not worth waiting 20+ minutes on the line. But, majority of the lines for food at Citifield were long anyway. I got the honey mustard sauce and it was nothing special. There was no hint of honey flavor at all. I should have gotten another dipping sauce instead.

This place is located in Citi Field. They have long lines, and offered mac n cheese fries, which seemed magical and that reeled me in. After waiting 20 minutes and missing a great deal of Yankee runs(with no TV’s around), we pay close to $ 20 and get what? A measly hotdog they sell for cheaper in the seats, and 6 mozzarella stick-type fried mac n cheese. And I don’t mean six chunky sticks, but very thin sticks. I was imagining some fries smothered in mac n cheese for the price, but this is seriously all you get! I should have Unilocaled it first, for sure.

got the garlic fries, mac and cheese fries and the hot dog. MEH. if you have time just wait in line for shake shack. it’s so much better than these overpriced fries. better yet just go to Nathans.

price is too expensive for large fries($ 8). I like the garden basil sauce because it tastes very similar to green sauce in Spanish dishes but without the spicy kick. cashier was nice because she let me sample the sauces before buying them but didn’t give any fries to sample with. Had to use my hands. .But good fries for first time. Wouldn’t buy again.

When I was a kid, baseball parks served hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and a couple other simple snacks. The good old days are long gone, and the good new days are officially here. Concession stands have gone fancy-pants, multicultural, upscale, low scale, exotic, and everything in between. Box Frites isn’t particularly fancy, but it still caters to your need to find something tastier than stale nachos with questionable yellow goo that probably contains 0% dairy. They serve up several types of tasty fries, including sweet potato, garlic parmesan, and cheesy bacon, plus the regular kind if you just want to savor some of their amazing sauces like smoky bacon or creamy basil. Their hot dogs aren’t half bad either, served on potato buns with a few choices of simple toppings. The only danger is of the fries coming out a little soggy, which maybe half my order was, but they were still covered in delicious parmesan and soaked up the smoky bacon sauce admirably. If you want to venture out into the wide world of new school ballpark fare at Citi Field, Box Frites is a solid choice. The biggest mystery is how they let the division rival Washington Nationals also get one at their park…

Hyped Fries Overall: 3 Stars I heard so much about the fries from box frites from websites and friends stating that this was one of three/four best spots that I must get food from at Citi Field. The fries were a downright disappointment. I had the bacon fries with cheese and scallions. While the flavors were pretty good, the fries were soggy. When I order fries, especially ones at that price, I expect them crispy. They looked as though they were drenched in a fryer that wasn’t at the proper temperature, therefore absorbed the oil making them soggy. Other than that the scallions were fresh, and the cheese, which was globbed on top, was good as well. I would have likely enjoyed the experience more if it wasn’t as hyped as it was, and the fact the line was way too long(took 3 innings to get on line and back to my seat). The hot dog on the other hand was amazing. Loud snap of the skin as you bite down. Long strip of crispy strip of bacon between the hot dog and the bun. If I had the option, I would have ordered two of these hotdogs instead of getting the fries. Delicous! Sadly I was unable to snap pictures because I was hungry and at the time Bartolo Colon was lighting up the Marlins. That and it is very difficult to balance food and a camera without spilling anything in a crowded stadium.

I ordered the sweet potato fries and they were crunchy, hot and tasty. The black pepper Parmesan dipping sauce was also good. There a little slow in terms of making the food.

Sweet potato fries! Some people complained that the fries were too greasy and buttery but I enjoyed it just fine. The dipping sauce was tasty and the fries were crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. You better eat them while it’s hot because it does kinda taste nasty when it gets cold. I usually get the wavy fries from Shake shack but I think I’m leaning towards the fries from Box Frites. I’m definitely going to try some other fries from Box Frites during my next visit to Citi Field.

Don’t waste your time on the Parmesan fries. The line was long and they were burned. Nathan’s fries are way better.

For ballpark food, the serving size and price were good!(~$ 10) Had the garlic parmesan fries with rosemary ranch, with or without the sauce the fries were great. Well seasoned and not to salty. Grab 2 forks, the large size is perfect for sharing, just beware of the raw garlic pieces of you’re on a date!

Super delicious garlic French fries. It was expensive but it’s such a huge serving of fries. The garlic fries were tossed in Parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic. So addicting but a little in the salty side. BLT hot dog was tasty also. Had some special mayo sauce, bacon, tomato and lettuce. The bun tasted like potato bread which was so good. If I ever go to citifield, forget the crazy shake shack line and come here!

FFSMOTHEREDINCHEDDARCHEESE&BACON??? HEAVEN! I attended the subway series back to back and both days ordered my FF. It was absolutely delicious. I mean, I was licking my fingers. Ha ha… You get a choice of sauce so try the buffalo sauce. Customer service was delightful. I love great service & both days I was served with a smile. There was a long line but so worth it. $ 8.95 and they only have one size. Mmm enjoy!

++ — The all beef hot dg was really good, it was like a sausage(which is good bc hot dogs are $ 6.50, and sausage is $ 9.50) + — fries were good, but not mindblowing as I was lead to believe from previous reviews, personally, I like the garlic parmesan fries at yankee Stadium better — I regretfully got the blue cheese sauce, I shudv gotten the bacon TIPS — They took the one off the promenade, now the only one is at field level behind center field — For water, get a cup from the beer stand behind you, and politely ask the cashier. They’ll most likely oblige — If the line is long, get in the smoothie booth immediately next door to your right, it’s all connected, and you can order your food from there

Regular fries or sweet potato with some of their sauce(the chipotle bbq is pretty tangy and tasty) or you could go with some garlic fries(definitely not as good as AT&T, but still really strong on the garlic and this has a dash of cheese as well). For $ 6.75, you really do get a good serving of fries. Pretty down with Box Frites.

Whenever I’m at Citi Field and have craving for burger and fries, I head to Shake Shack for the burger and Box Frites for the fries. Box Frites features thick-cut Idaho potato fries with your choice of dipping sauces– 1st sauce is included, additional sauce is $ 2– ballpark mayo, bacon aioli, blue cheese, chipotle ketchup. We always get the garlic-parmesan frites with roasted garlic and grated pecorino cheese. A large box will cost you $ 8 and is perfect for sharing. Beware of stinky breath afterwards though! The consistency of the fries can vary. sometimes they will be super crispy and other times they are less crispy. Still worth a try and def the best option for fries at Citi Field.

These are pretty good for stadium food. We got the Sweet Potato fries with Garlic, which were very tasty, but they weren’t even served particularly hot. They weren’t that crispy either, so they pretty much failed on two of the required qualities for fries. Of course they’re pricy, as they’re located in Citi Field. But it’s probably less aggravating than waiting on the endless Shake Shack line and they’re a little more fun and different than the Shake Shack fries, as they offer a bunch of different varieties and dipping sauces.

4.5 stars… Who would have thought a major league sports stadium would have food so good that I wish there were more locations outside the park? I certainly didn’t. Box Frites has the most amazing garlic parmesan fries and a fried berry and apple pie with caramel sauce that’s practically life changing. They do have dipping sauces(first one is free, and $ 1.75ea after) but the garlic parmesan definitely don’t need any extra flavor. The prices are a little high but definitely reasonable, especially for the location. If you’re at CitiField wondering where this awesome spot is, it’s by the food court type area by the Shake Shack behind right field. Here’s the break down for most of their menu: Beer(about 24 ounces): 8 – 8.75 Fries(regular or garlic): 6.25 sm, 8 lg Sweet Potato Fries(regular or garlic): 7.25 sm, 9.75lg Pies(berry or berry/apple): 4.75 Hot Dogs(reg, buffalo, blt): $ 5.50−6.75

We were so excited to try Box Frites’s Garlic Parmesan fries after reading about it on Unilocal. Unfortunately, something went awry as we ordered; though we ordered the Garlic Parmesan fries, we were given plain ones. I did like them as they reminded me of Roy Rogers’s fries which I haven’t had in years… don’t know if they’re still around. At $ 15 for a not so big fries and large soda, the fries could’ve been fresh. At least the person behind the counter was friendly and helpful to boot!

Great place for some fries in Citifield. Located right over the Shea Bridge, across from Shake Shack. Box Frites does not disappoint fry lovers. From their wide selection of dipping sauce and their other special order fries such as Disco Fries(Cheese drenched and some tomatoes) and their Garlic Parmesan Fries. I always get the Garlic Parm with Blue Cheese and to company that with a ice cold beer. My satisfied hunger and taste diverts my feeling of pain over the Mets probable loss. Must try !
