My companion and I both ordered the sauteed spinach and it was so salty it was inedible. The lamb lollipop appetizer was very good as was my wedge salad. My main course of hog jowls was very average. Very. Service was good, but when I’m spending over $ 200 for dinner I expect much more in the way of food quality. Which is the main thing. We have always wanted to eat here, but couldn’t care less if we ever go back.

We went with friends to dinner on Saturday night. Once again… the food was phenomenal. I am NEVER disappointed here. Those lamb lollipops are so simple yet extraordinary with flavor. And I don’t eat seafood… but I always dig into the calamari here. So tender and perfectly seasoned… and that dipping sauce. Yum!

I hate to write this but I’m no longer a fan of this place. Over the years the quality to cost ratio has been screwed up. To simply put it: this is really mediocre food at a ridiculous price($ 156 before tip for two people). Love the locally sourced food concept but it doesn’t make up for the fact that the flavors the chef incorporates… well, kind of suck. I guess what finally took me over the edge was the $ 45 Rib Eye that was very thin and really flavorless, and the Lamb lollipops that were WAY overpowered with garlic and something else that tasted like curry but was not highlighted in the menu. The best part of the meal was the hydroponic wedge. It is cool that Twelve Stones is so close to where we live, but we’ll venture out further for better tasting food for the price.

I’m conflicted about this place. The food is generally very good but a little over priced. I would recommend sitting at the bar for happy hour rather than a full on formal dinner. Avoid Thursday night as the live entertainment sounds like a dying cat. Overall, it’s good within these parameters.

The meal quality is going down like the Titanic! On my first visit to Twelve stones the energy was intense and the food was good, but on each of my consecutive 3 visits the meal quality has suffered. Things that really stand out are: * The menu has changed very little * The price is high and the food is average * Service is not consistent * For the price you can get a much better food experience in just a 20 minute drive My group went for New Year’s Eve and it was such a disappointment. The waiter spilled a drink on one of my guests and still charged us for it. We had one vegetarian in our group and she ordered the vegetarian option(chef creation) — it looked like something out of a frozen dinner. The potato soup was lacking flavor and uninspired. Three of us ordered the Rib Eye but were told that even though it was on the menu the Chef was serving something else. I ordered the 10 ounce Filet medium but was told that if I want anything with it, then I’d have to order«Enhancements.» The Filet cooled off to much before it got to the table. I’m not sure what the reason is for the decline in the food and service at Twelve Stones. All of us noticed that the chef spent more time in the dining area than the kitchen — maybe that’s the problem. Hopefully, they can make some major adjustments because Flower Mound needs good restaurants.

Ate here tonight for the first time. Live music Thursdays & Fridays, didn’t know and would be great except we were dining with hard of hearing parents. Staff went out of their way to turn music down, we think they may have turned off speakers in our area. What customer service! Amazing food, mother-in-law thought lamb lollipops best she’d eaten in years, salmon and the various sauces were devoured by my husband– we all absolutely loved our food! Wine– a reasonably priced zin my father-in-law chose was very good. We will be back! Highly recommend and we are foodies! Service was impeccable. Wonderful high class restaurant in Flo Mo. We are thrilled you are here!

Three words: Black Pepper Cheesecake. Order whatever you like because chances are you will enjoy it, but if you leave without trying the cheesecake your visit will have been wasted. Yes, it’s that good.

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here and not only was the food great but the service was impeccable. From one food snob to another, Twelve Stones is well worth your while! We’ll be going back again and again! Also I have to give a well deserved shout out to Mari Lynn, great service and wonderful at recommendations!

I am not the easiest person to please, but my first trip to Twelve Stones was perfect. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and I was very pleased. The quality of the food, creativity of the menu, and value of the dishes were spot on. This is a high end restaurant with a relaxed, comfortable ambiance, appropriate for a variety of occasions. It’s neither cheap, nor expensive, so it will be a regular date night destination. The service was truly impeccable. Our server was attentive and unobtrusive with wonderful presentation and recommendations. The chef was out front meeting and greeting with an engaging humility. The wine list is well curated and accessible with mid to high-mid options. Our waitress, MariLynn was knowledgeable about the wine, while open about what she did not know. She took the clues we gave her and served up a perfect wine recommendation. When my wife made the reservation she noted that it was for our anniversary, so they had a nice anniversary sign waiting on our table and every person who greeted us acknowledged our special occasion. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so impressed with the entire dining experience.

We went there last night for the first time. When we came in the restaurant there were two hostesses at the host stand I told them my name and my reservation time and told them that I was a first time customer. They did not even acknowledge and I told them I was a first time customer. I was seated and it was a good five minutes before I was approached by a waiter. The food was only average and the prices were high. My wife and I do not drink, we had no appetizers and we shared a dessert. Our bill power bill was $ 115 before tip. I doubt The will be back since this is definitely not a good value for the money.

Booked a reservation using the OpenTable app. Was called the next day to confirm, and was asked if this was a special occasion. Told them it was our anniversary and was glad I did. The service was outstanding. Our interactions with the matradee, waitstaff, and chef all included well wishing for the occasion. This was a very nice touch. My wife had the squid ink pasta with grilled octopus special. She described the octopus as incredibly tender and«the best I’ve ever had.» I had the 6oz filet smoked. It was very tender and flavorful. There is also has a great wine list to choose from. We capped off the meal with dessert which we often do not. I had the Black Pepper Cheesecake which was outstanding. It had a hint of jalapeño flavoring with an interesting red chili seasoned sauce on the side. It was a great combination of savory and sweet flavors. This has become something of a regular place for us. The atmosphere is friendly and open, the staff attentive, and the food stelar. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

My favorite restaurant in Flower Mound. Consistent, well prepared food. The only complaint is the Wine List– Average at best. They have to improve this list because it does not match their food level. Also, the wine way the wine is stored at the bar is a problem, next to lights which hurts the temperature. Otherwise– Really like this place!

I love having a non-chain restaurant in flower mound. I wish there were more restaurants in the area like this. I have not visited this restaurant about four times in the food has always been very good. This last trip was no exception. We did have one minor issue were my husband steak was cooked medium instead of medium rare. They had a new steak cooked to perfection out to him within a matter of three minutes. The reason I did not get this five stars is because I wish they would change their menu up more frequently. They claim to be seasonal yet I’ve only seen their menu change a couple of times. I also found the bartender(bar manager) to be a bit arrogant. If I order a drink don’t tell me «we can do better than that». Just make what I asked for please.

Dinner night out with friends. From reviews and word-of-mouth, I expected the prices to be high, but also expected the food to be able to support them. The ambience of the restaurant is nice. Didn’t feel like we were in Flower Mound. The bar looked like the kind of bar I’d enjoy meeting friends or colleagues for a drink. Very inviting. The hostess was very friendly and professional, as was our waitress. The guy filling the waters was as attentive as anyone I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The service was quite good. The menu was interesting and had me feeling optimistic. Anybody proud/bold enough to price things at those levels had to be confident in the quality. I will support previous reviews commenting on the sparseness of their wine-by-the-glass options, and the pricing for what they do have is $ 3 – 5 per glass more than it should be based on the wine. Going with an eclectic wine list is cool… but for $ 14/glass, you better back it up with quality that was missing in my selection. The food(6 oz filet, salmon, mac and cheese and spinach) was decent. At prices 25−30% lower, it would have been perfect. I eat out a lot for work and I know what $ 28/plate salmon should taste like. This wasn’t there. $ 12 for a dessert is NYC kind of pricing and again, it caused my expectations to be higher than the pretty darn good Texas Peach Tea selection was able to deliver. All in all, I’m happy this place has survived in the area and congratulate the chef and management on putting together much of what it takes to make a notable restaurant. But, at $ 170(including tip) for 2 people with 2 glasses of wine, I just don’t see us going back. Too many other places within 30 minutes where that kind of money buys a better overall food experience.

Came here to celebrate our anniversary. Got reservations and they asked if there was celebration. I said anniversary. We arrived and were greeted with happy anniversary upon checking in. When taken to her table or a small sign said happy anniversary. The rest of the night staff, the chef, the manager all came by to wish us well. Very nice touch. Ordered the beet salad that’ve under me of Korean pickled dishes. Very good. Wife ordered steak that was so tender that she could have used a fork to cut it. I ordered scallops that were incredible, nice flavor. Squash casserole side great accompaniment. Finished off with Crème brûlée that was as good as Parisian café. Of course, they wrote out«Happy anniversary» with chocolate on the plate. We drank the local beers on tap that is a nice selection, but that is how we roll! Wonderful meal and great experience.

Ok and update my earlier review. We had dinner with friends last night. It was good, a few highlights; — the steak and chicken were great — loved that they had Peticolas on tap(check the spelling on the menu) — the valet was awesome! That guy hustled and was very nice! — deserts were also great — potatoes and Mac and cheese were just ok I asked to speak with they chef, since he suggested we come back for another try, unfortunately one waiter forgot to ask and our waitress said he was too busy. I understand it was a busy night. Definitely worth a try.

My husband and I had a 6:45pm reservation on a Saturday night and the place was hoppin’. The atmosphere was surprisingly charming given that the restaurant is situated in a strip mall next to a donut shop. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. The appetizer of lamb lollipops was amazing! The mixed cocktails were also good but, it did take awhile for our initial order of wine to arrive at the table. In addition to slow drink service, our meal took almost exactly one hour to arrive at our table. For a $ 200+ Saturday date night dining experience we expected just a bit better. I would say this restaurant was only«meh» and easily forgettable.

I’ve lived in Dallas for many years and have thus experienced many of the best cuisine in Dallas and its surrounding cities. Twelve Stones is one of my favorite restaurants! The service was wonderful and the food was even better! My husband and I tried a bit of everything. We had the cheese board, deviled eggs, duck tacos, chicken fried steak, and bread pudding. The food was top notch, save the bread pudding. While it was good, the flavors were not as refined as the other dishes we tried. Also, I prefer a more chunky bread pudding where the cubes of bread are evident. This was more blended. The in-house made ice cream was excellent though! We also had cocktails which were good! I had a couple of Peach Pits, which were great. My husband ordered dirty martinis with olives. While he liked them, he did comment he felt that the use of vermouth was a bit heavy handed. I don’t give five stars to anything, especially restaurants, but Twelve Stones deserves it! Also, for those who have said this restaurant is overpriced, I disagree. The restaurant is a bit pricy perhaps, but the quality of food and service lives up to the pricing. If you love a calm and quiet atmosphere, energetic and helpful staff, and tasty and expertly prepared foods, you won’t want to miss Twelve Stones!

My husband chose this restaurant for dinner with colleagues based on the positive reviews here, and our fellow Unilocalers did not let us down. Service at the host stand is excellent, and we were seated immediately upon arrival… I would recommend reservations for a weekend night, as business is good. I doubt there’s another restaurant of this caliber in the vicinity. We ordered a bottle of wine, and the one glitch in service was the inability of the server to open it without breaking the cork. Not a huge deal, but we did wait for the wine while she tried to find someone she worked with who could help. They need a sommelier to come in and show the staff how to properly open a bottle of wine. While cork breakage is a reality, her technique was not good. Dinner was excellent. I had a salad to start, and all was fresh and perfectly balanced. I like the salad offerings here. The diver scallops were calling my name, and these were just divine. It’s difficult to find food of this quality outside of a major city. Yes, this place is in the Dallas/Fort Worth greater area, but this is still the suburbs. Dessert was not all that great. I tried the caramel pot du crème, and it had way too much caramel in it. Not only was it too sweet, but the texture was affected, so it was too thick and not like a true pudding. They could use a good pastry chef here. Otherwise, all is good, and I will definitely return.

My wife made reservations for our date night, and Twelve Stones was the place. It is beautifully decorated with an excellent bar and inviting menu. We were greeted immediately by an enthusiastic hostess and since we arrived a little earlier in the evening there was choice seating available. She was kind enough to ask where we would like to be seated and we followed her to our table. We were promptly served water and our waiter Colton was very prompt in greeting us. He gave us a little history about Chef David and the story behind the name of the restaurant, which I won’t spoil for you. He was very knowledgeable about the drink menu and made a couple of suggestions. My wife decided on the Cucumber Jalapeño Martini and I on a glass of Sexual Chocolate Red Blend both recommended by Colton. We also decided on the appetizer to share the Pan-Seared Shrimp with Avocado Grits. The Cucumber Jalapeño Martini was fantastic. Very light but crisp, probably more aptly suited for a hot summer day but great on this fall night nonetheless. The Sexual Chocolate blended wine was bold but very smooth and it was an excellent suggestion by Colton. We decided our meal would consist of the Lump Crab Cakes and the Roasted Chicken Breast as our entrée’s with a side of Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese. Before the appetizer arrived, Chef David came by the table to welcome us and tell us a little about the food and how it is selected locally, all prepared fresh daily, no frozen here. Very nice gentlemen and a very nice touch. Our Appetizer came and this was the beginning of what we knew was going to be a gastronomically excellent evening. The Pan-Seared Shrimp with Avocado Grits was out of this world good. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the the Avocado Grits exploded with flavor complementing the shrimp excellently. Highly recommend this appetizer to begin your meal. Our entrees and side arrived and we both decided to try the crab cakes first. These were absolutely delicious. Freshly prepared and no fillers, they were all crab meat and seasoned perfectly. I wanted to take a dozen of these home with me. I will say they are very rich and the portion size was just right. The Roasted Chicken Breast was equally as good. This pan roasted perfection with house-made andouille sausage, seared fresh gnocchi, cajun stew, sauteed tomato and onion was perfectly cooked and very juicy. The andouille sausage and gnocchi complimented the chicken very well and the flavors were unbelievable. The Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese was so creamy it melted in your mouth. The smokiness of the slightly sweet cheese combined with the macaroni was pure heaven. I couldn’t stop eating it. While we were enjoying our meal, Chef David came by a second time to see how we were enjoying the meal, again a very nice touch to see him out among the guests. We finished the meal with Chef Davids award winning Black Pepper Cheesecake. This gem is a must have. Perfect texture and the hint of black pepper adds a blast of flavor to the dessert. The raspberry sauce is a perfect compliment to the cheesecake. I would caution you that the candied jalapeño pepper on top is very spicy, don’t let it fool you. I would however add that everyone should have a bite of the candied pepper with the cheesecake, what a ride this is. I must say that Colton and the rest of the staff were very attentive and helpful. We did not have to wait or want for anything. Chef David is excellent at what he does and a gentleman as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our date night at Twelve Stones and this one lives up to the 4 and 5 star ratings it has received. I am very happy to have this caliber of restaurant in our Flower Mound neighborhood. If you are outside the area, I assure you it will be well worth your drive. A wonderful place to dine that we will be seen at frequently.
