Epic Gelato

Eh, there’s something missing here for me, I just can’t put my finger on it just yet! First of all this is a gelato place but the gelato is stuffed in the corner and the coffee area has tons of room so it’s hard see what’s available as well if you want samples there’s a line behind you and you can feel rushed and it very quickly detracts from the experience. Though the seating area and the free «bottled water» are nice and an appreciated touch.
The gelato is flavorful but I don’t feel it’s true to gelato but a mix between custard and gelato which isn’t really appreciated by my palate. Though I’ve heard good things about their coffee but haven’t been impressed by their espresso roast, but the chai was awesome!
This place is good enough but it’s difficult to find parking depending on time of day and the Starbucks that’s going in next door is going to be a nightmare. It’s worthy of checking out and developing your own opinion but in my own opinion try the Gelato place on Cross Timbers and I think you’ll be much more satisfied.

Excellent options and flavor. I just always have a hard time paying so darn much for ice cream. I know it is my choice and could just go to Kroger to buy some, but I feel like they take advantage of the economic stature of the area when deciding on price.

Really great gelato and the flavors change every day so there is always something new to try! They even keep a few dairy free options in the case. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s a nice atmosphere to hang out for a while whether inside on some of the comfy chairs in the back or outside on the patio. I’ve always had a nice experience here!

Came at night to this place and it was amazing. I’m used to going to Paciugo and this is even better. I really like how they give you free water in a bottle that you give back once you’re done. Something unique. There was live music when we went and it’s definitely a great experience and lovely gelato.

Come for the gelato, stay for the coffee!

Great décor, friendly staff, delicious Gelato, intelligent and knowledgeable Barista, local coffee. WIN. My new go-​to coffee spot in the area.

In the past, when I had to decide between a donut or gelato, I never had the option of choosing both without appearing to be gluttony until now. Hello Donato!
What’s a Donato? That’s a gelato sandwiched between a donut, topped with a glaze and warmed up. My Donato choice today is the Cookie Monster, a scoop of Oreo gelato with Oreo pieces sandwiched between the donut with vanilla glaze, chocolate sauce and additional Oreo pieces on top. If only if I had the option to pour additional chocolate sauce myself.
I decided to get coffee with my «donut». As I usually drink drip, I was suggested the «pour over» which would take «3 minutes» to make. Next time, I would get a different beverage as the Donato arrived ahead of the coffee. When I did get my coffee, it was poured in a 16oz mug. I was told that «pour overs» could only be made in 16 ounces, but the menu listed 12oz and 20oz sizes for drip coffee.
The shop is in a building which dampens cell service. My phone indicated «No Service». Fortunately, there is free wifi and the password is on the wall. If you are expecting a call while here, make sure you can accept it on wifi.
I was lucky that I arrived when I did. As I was leaving, several families were entering and the line to order was getting long.

While I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the long line and the way it flowed away from the door (creating something of a bottleneck upon entry), the gelato here is spot on! I enjoyed the dark chocolatey (and well named) Heaven and the yummy Coconut Frost, which I first got to sample. My party also enjoyed the various flavors onhand, including a lime flavored entry. Staff was accommodating with tastings, if a little harried by the crowd that I entered with, but we were able to enjoy our treats and the walk/​sights outside.

Stopped by one afternoon. Young man behind the counter served me. He was less than enthusiastic, which is ok. I tried a couple of flavors and I have to say, it wasn’t that good. Flat, bland, take your pick of descriptions. It is pricey but I understand the name of the game is profit. I even asked the server if he knew where gelato originated and at least he knew the country. It may be unfair to review them since I have recently returned from a trip to Italy where I sampled the gelato from Venice to Rome and of course Florence.

Love the variety and creativity of flavors. My favorite is the Rose flavor. Can’t wait to go back for more!

The staff is really friendly and helpful. They know their stuff when it comes to coffee and (of course) gelato.
They have several different ways of brewing the coffee including a Siphon and a Chemex. These brewing methods are very cool and probably different than what you have seen before.
The gelato is delicious. They have a bunch of flavored. The pistachio is yum. We will try the coffee flavor when it’s back in stock.
The Internet bandwidth is clean and fast. I measured about 85×85 symmetrical (Verizon FiOS). It’s perfect for working or surfing while you eat gelato and drink coffee from all over the world.
I wish they had cocktails. Having an Irish Coffee here would be heaven.

This is the closest place for me to get gelato and it’s also the best place. The staff are very friendly, the place is very clean and cozy, and you even get free water. All the flavors I’ve tried so far are great, but my favorite has to be strawberry just because it’s the creamiest one in my opinion. The prices are also very reasonable.

Love this place! Lots of great flavors and all I’ve tried are delicious. Cute little patio! Everyone that works there has been so nice. Highly recommend!

The heaven and the White Russian were delicious. There are a lot of flavors and they don’t limit the number of flavors you can try. You can also mix & match flavors in your cup. The customer service is awesome. They were very patient with my group and the separate customers in front of us, even though we all came a couple of minutes before closing. They didn’t make us feel rushed at all. I would definitely recommended this place!

Friendly staff, a great variety of different flavors, nice area in an upscale but charming part of Flower Mound. Really, nothing to complain about here.

Words can’t describe how good this place is but I am about to try my best to put in words my experience at EPIC GELATO. Right when you walk in all you see is the friendly smiles of the people that work there and its just outstanding service from the beginning to the end.. I got a chance to speak to Richard the owner and the gelato maker and it was a joy listening to him talk about how much he loves doing what he does. He truly cares about his customers and that’s very rare to see now a days. The gelatos are home made and the best gelatos I have ever had and probably will ever have. Every bite was better than the last one. I had the white chocolate fudge with dark chocolate and you could taste all the flavor and how fresh all the ingredients were. I found my go to spot for coffee and dessert and if you are ever in a mood for something sweet and delicious please go here. I promise you won’t regret It :).

Hands down, the BEST gelato I’ve ever had. What a gem of place in Flower Mound… very nicely done inside and out and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Of course get the gelato, but also get a donato… yes, a donut «sandwich» with your choice of gelato in the middle, all grilled together (yes) in a waffle maker. Get a coffee from the slow bar to go along with it. You won’t be sorry.
They’ve only been open 2 months — and the way they are going, expect them to be here for the long haul. Nicely done!

Gelato was spot on– the affagato was even better! If you are a coffee lover– they have four different brew methods which I can’t wait to try! I didn’t see any sorberto in the case which is disappointing– but hopefully it will debut in the spring!

I’ve been to this place quite a number of times and it’s always a treat.
The Venue:
The venue is nicely designed, very open, and clean. The patio furniture is very comfortable!
The Product:
The gelato is the best I’ve tasted. All of the gelato and base is made in house and from what I gather using only the highest quality and fresh ingredients. I love that the owner keeps an ever changing selection of flavors. The quality of their gelato is well worth the price but that’s what it takes to maintain their high quality levels.
They also put as much effort into their craft coffee program using only single origin, small batch beans from a local roaster. They’ve even installed a completely separate water filtration system tailored to the local water supply and specifically to enhance the flavor of gelato and coffee. Brilliant.
The Service:
The service is excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend the time to ensure all of your questions are answered.
Overall, this place is incredible. I would like to see them add desserts and dessert wines to their menu. I think it’s only a matter of time.

Meh… OK gelato. Very pricey. We will probably give it another try but I don’t think we will be regulars.

This is THE place to get coffee in Flower Mound.
Both baristas I’ve spoken to the couple of times I’ve been in really know their stuff. They’ve introduced me to a few new methods of coffee preparation. As well as offer a nice selection of beans, and can tell you a good deal about each option.
They’re more than willing to get you a quick cup, or create a nice piece of caffeinated are in 3 – 5 minutes. Definitely a good spot to get some work done, and enjoy coffee the way it should be.
I’ve only tried a handful of gelatos, but I know how powerful they can be. It’s better than any ice cream I’ve ever tired. I can’t see myself going back to Ice cream, honestly.
Epic is an awesome place to stop in before you head out for the day, or just wanna relax. The employees and management take great pride in what they’ve brought to the community, and rightfully so, they’ve done well.

Truly excellent gelato. Handmade (artiginale) like in the best shops in Italy (better than the factory made found in Florence). Gelato is milk based rather than cream based like American ice cream, so less fat. This gelato is smoother than most because they hand paddle it to get the air out. My favorite. Super top secret fact is this is the best coffee in DFW too. Not just because of the awesome local roaster they are partnered with, but because they don’t serve it past fresh or before it’s de-​gassed and they correct Flower Mound public water before using it. Epic TLC here. Free WiFi too if you want to hang out all day. PS I am not a coffee snob or a milk drinker. Just prefer the best when it’s readily available.

This place is new and it was beyond what I expected, the gelato was really good, that staff was very helpful and very friendly. A return to this place is a must!

Wow! The marscapone is a must, the ambiance is great, the mgmt is very personable, the staff are über friendly and helpful, the guest wifi is 75Mbps. I have yet to try the coffee, but everything I see suggests it may be the best cup in town. I promise you will love this place.

I love gelato when it is the real deal. I am usually disappointed because so called gelato places usually buy a gelato mix and then freeze it on site, and the flavor and quality isn’t the same as what you expect. This place is the REAL DEAL! Super high quality. Inventive flavors. Made from fresh ingredients. The mascarpone cherry is one of the best things I have ever tasted. Service is super friendly and the owner seems really excited to be there and passionate about what they have. I really hope people support this local business, because Flower Mound needs quality places like this. P. S. The coffee drinks are great, too. My daughter got gelato with espresso poured over it. YUM!

I’ve been to Italy twice and had gelato there. This is just as good as you’d get in Rome or Cinque Terre. They have a lot of flavors and they even changed in between the 2 days I was there. I like the lemon flavor best.
Another great thing is they encourage you to try as many samples as you need before making your purchase. It’s great to not feel like I’m causing trouble by sampling 3 or 4 flavors before purchasing.

2 days in a row… awesome cofee. Single origin beans.
These guys are doing everything right.
Loved the Ethiopia and Kenya pourovers.
Best part is live in the same community.
