Soleil Tanning Center

I have zero complaints about this establishment. I wanted to build a base tan before a vacation, and my friend assured me this was a clean, reasonable place for stand up and lay-​down beds. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also attached to my gym.
I find the prices very reasonable and there are multiple types of lotions dor purchase, and complimentary winkees (protect those eyes!). Don’t forget to ask for a towel to wipe that sweaty behind!

Best tanning place in the city! The staff is super friendly and the place is clean enough. But most of all, it’s $ 200 PER YEAR for unlimited tanning. Try beating that without leaving the city limits. Go on, try. I dare ya.
If you’re like me and enjoy a little color on your skin (or if you’re also like me and have a skin thing that benefits immensely from short, regular exposure to UV light), Soleil is a great option.

It’s in the perfect location between work & home. The majority of the staff is extremely nice, and I like that they have begun to learn my name, and have my profile up ready for me to go as soon as they see me through the door. The only complaint I have is the lack of music, because I like to dance when I’m tanning. I could bring my own iPod into the bed, but I don’t want to get it all greasy from my lotion. Also, not that I use the bathroom there very much, but PLEASE just spend the extra 50 cents to buy toilet paper that is not comparable to cardboard.

I’ve been going to 12^th street gym’s Soleil tanning studio for over a year now. It’s location is so convenient for me, so I couldn’t ask for much for. It’s simple and too the point.
The staff is super nice (most of them remember you’re name after a few visits). You never usually need an appointment, and I almost never experience a wait. The few times that there has been a line, the staff let me use the advanced beds for no extra charge. Sweet!
I’ve never had an issue with cleanliness, but I did walk in one time when they were dealing with a «urine» issue, which was kind of gross. Also, the rooms are a bit tiny. Other than that, I have no complaints. The prices are cheap. Wayy cheaper than hollywood tans, so in my mind, the trade-​off is worth it.
My only tip is to get a package instead of paying per tan. You can save sooo much money!

As a member of 12^th Street Gym, one of the perks is having an adjacent tanning place salon to get some color when I’m not able to hit the beach or pool. While Soleil gets high marks for its prices and friendly staff, it’s cleanliness will have me NEVER return.
I believe Soleil has a variety of stand-​up and sit-​down beds to choose from and you have the option of using a basic or advanced bed. From what I understand the basic beds use a less intense bulb which takes more time for your tan to appear.
I shoud have known there was a problem when I asked for a disposable eye protection cover and was told that they were out. How can you be in business, making sure your customer signs a document that requires eye protection and not have any to provide? It doesn’t make sense. The cashier found a pair of googles for me to wear and I want to the room assigned.
When I walked into the room assigned to me, it was not as well lit as other salons I have been to before, but I locked the door behind me, got undressed, applied the lotion I have used before, and stepped into the unit. It wasn’t until I was finished and began looking around more that I realized the room was DIRTY. The fan that was on the floor had a ridiculous amount of dust on it, the stand-​up bed was also covered in a film of dust. Generally, on the inside, the unit will have a place to hold your hands up (like a strap). Those had been broken and simply pushed behind the bulbs. Then… I looked further and found a woman’s long fingernail on the floor. That was enough. I couldn’t wait to get home and shower.
I am under the impression that the staff and management needs to seriously clean this place and regardless, I will never return. There has to be a tanning place in the city that offers a great rate and a clean and sanitary tanning unit. ENUF!
