First ever Full Brazilian — I had bought a LivingSocial deal for it. First of all, it is hard to find. I don’t even think there’s a sign for it outside, but it is located inside the entrance to 12th Street Gym(to the left once inside). The ambience was very serene, quiet and comfortable. Everyone was both warm and also professional. I was offered champagne, wine, or water. When I chose water she offered plain, lemon, or cucumber. It was served to me in a real glass. I was impressed. I had to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment time to be brought up to the room, but they were aware and apologetic. It was really not an issue at all, I had no where to be — but even so, afterwards, Sam(my waxer) presented a free manicure card to me as an apology for being late! The wax itself was quick and professional; Sam seemed to really know what she was doing(though I have nothing to compare to). Overall it was definitely not painless but it really wasn’t bad and it was over in 10 minutes or so. She was very thorough, and for some ingrown hairs she even asked me if she could tweeze them. Sam was very sweet, comforting, and professional. I highly recommend her services at Anasa, and I will definitely be back myself!

Today I had the best pedicure I’ve ever had at AnaSa Day Spa. I purchased a deal on-line for a mani/pedi and I was very pleased with the service and staff. The pedicure was extremely relaxing and included hot stones, a scrub, warm honey, and leg massage. Next came the manicure which was just as great. I was surprised at the end with a complimentary head/neck massage. What a great way to spend your day off in the middle of the week! The owner was very nice too! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

This was the least painful and most no nonsense Brazilian wax I have ever had. My experiences range from $ 80 waxes that have taken up to an hour, to a woman basically yelling and coaching me to «pull harder» on the delicate skin she was working on, then pouring stinky lotion and baby powder all over me. The Anasa experience was quiet, fast and only minimally painful. The atmosphere is clean with calming music. The service is friendly and the products used left my sensitive skin feeling great without being sticky. Sam was also careful to remove any wax remnants. She was kind without being forcefully chatty. The whole thing took about 20 – 25 minutes and I have no swelling or itching to speak of.

When I called to arrange an appointment the woman was extremely nice and helpful. When I arrived I was a little weirded out by the business itself. It was a row home type building with extremely narrow hallways, creaky floors, and very evident old bedrooms that were turned into massage rooms. The room was too hot and the window unit air conditioner didn’t work well. The massage itself was ok, at times good, at others horrible. There were times when I actually felt as though a knife was being used to open my skin. The next 3 days my upper back and shoulders were bruised. They did not only feel bruised, but there were actual bruises. Definitely not somewhere I will visit again.
