The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the price is rather steep($ 12 for 13 inch personal pizza). But it may actually be worth it. I ordered Maurizio, which has mozzarella, rosemary, olive oil, sea salt. The crust was perfect. The toppings were perfect(fresh mozzarella, fresh rosemary, etc).

I’m not normally that into pizza, but pizza vetri does it well: thin, crispy, savory, and always fresh. I’ve tried most of their pizzas and all were great: the margherita is basic but well done, and the crudo, maurizio, melanzana, and salsiccia are all wonderful as well. I love eggplant so I’m partial to the melanzana, and the fennel sausage is delicious so the salsiccia ties for first. If you want something healthier(though the pizzas here aren’t terribly unhealthy either) then you can’t go wrong with the wood oven salad or arugula salads. Potatoes in a green salad sounded odd to me at first but they pair nicely with the olives and basil pesto. The place is pretty small and most of the seating is sort of family style(long tables that you have to share), but it’s bright and clean and given how small it is you can get a good view of the pizzas cooking in the oven no matter where you sit. I’d definitely recommend you check it out if you’re in the area, especially if you’re a fan of thinner slices!

The best pizza we’ve had in a very long time. Margarita pizza was awesome and so was everything else. They even gave us a free pizza they had just because we were the largest party there. My picky children even loved it so were the picky adults in our group. Definitely coming back here when we’re in town.

Great spot and very tasty pizza but it is also very overpriced. Do not come here unless you plan to purchase a whole pie! This is not a place to eat slices — the cheapest slice is a vegetarian piece costing $ 6 and $ 8 for a meat slice. Yes, the pizza slice was fancy looking(it was a square) and it tasted good. But $ 8 is too much to pay. I should have ordered a whole pie but I was not hungry enough for it. I will have to update my review when I eventually order a whole pie. However, the value that I see in this place is very low even though it was tasty. It just wasn’t that tasty… the slice should have been $ 5 at most.

Nice pizza place with good pizza and great service. I am not a big pizza person and dont eat much pizza though, so my review might not mean much here haha. We got small pizzas of crudo, melanzana, and salsiccia. Crudo was good, though I am more of a fan of red pizza than white pizza, and the meat was a bit spare but delicious regardless. Salsiccia was great with a wonderful mix of(a good amount of) sausage and fennel. Melanzana was ordered by one of my friends who is a vegetarian. I didnt think it would be that good(and im not a big fan of eggplant), but it really impressed me; it might be even better than crudo and salsiccia. The portions were good and filling(one small pizza per person). However, the bread was quite thin, and i love thick dough, so that was a bit of a con.

This place is a great option if you are in the area! The seating is first come first serve, and is always pretty crowded… even on an off night. We came here on a Tuesday and it was pretty packed! The seating is also family style, so be prepared to sit at a table with a few people you might not know. They also have bar seating. As an appetizer, we ordered the rotolo. It was awesome. I highly recommend! If you have any dietary restrictions, make sure you ask exactly what is in it. I eat pretty much anything, but the people I was with, don’t eat pork and there was a type of ham or prosciutto inside. We caught it, and they ate around it while I ate the parts they couldn’t, so it worked out… but there isn’t a full description on the menu, so make sure you ask if you can’t have something! We got two pizzas, the Tonno and the Melanzana. The Tonno, had tuna on top and it just sounded so interesting that we had to try it. Although it was not what I was expecting(I thought it would have a more ahi tuna quality or sushi pizza like flare… when it was more like tuna out of a can) it was really delicious! My favorite was the Melanzana! The combo of cheeses and eggplant on it are so delicious, and the perfect amount of sauce! I love that the pizza is oven fired and the perfect thin/thickness, light and fluffy, and just delicious! We also got the fried pizza dough for dessert with the chocolate sauce… so delicious! I highly recommend saving some room for this dessert! I even brought home a pie for my boyfriend! I knew he would like moth the Melanzana and the Salsiccia so I ordered the Melanzana with sausage so I could give him kind of a combo of the two. He thoroughly enjoyed it! The pizzas are not huge for the cost, but the taste is SO worth it! Also, worth a wait if you have to hang out for a little to get a table. Awesome gourmet pizza option, will most definitely be back!

Positive recent reviews on Unilocal led us here; I am very glad it did. Visiting the Logan Square area after Thanksgiving«Pizza» was the answer I received when asking what everyone wanted for lunch. Pizzeria Ventri was close and highly rated, so e headed away from Ben Franklin and over to Callowhill St. Ventri was packed at 12:30, but we were offered a table in about 15 minutes. Service was quick/attentive and welcoming. We ordered Margarita, Melanzana and a Cesar Salad. The pies are thin, crisp wood-fired. The tomatoes, cheese and toppings very fresh. The Cesar was a bit untraditional, but very good; fresh anchovies and cheese made it very appealing. Sparkling water, bottled soda or beer, everyone had enjoyed a cool drink on this unseasonably warm day. We left very satisfied but returned a few hours later for coffee and fried dough. Perfect.

What a fine choice this was! We were seated immediately on a busy night, right at the bar where the pizzas are made. We got a margherita pizza which was A+++. Very simple, but very delicious. The sauce was especially excellent. We also got a dessert pizza, Nutella and marshmallows, which really stole the show. Let me tell you a bit about that there dessert pizza. They bake up a piece of dough, it puffs up and then they cut it in half and fill it with Nutella and marshmallows. Then they put it in the oven again so all the stuff melts together. O. M. G. All this and two drinks for $ 50. That includes tip, folks! This place deserves all the stars.

Some of the best pizza you’re likely to have in Philadelphia. It’s really difficult to define what separates a good pizza from an excellent pizza — you just know it when you taste it. The modest exterior of Pizzeria Vetri fools you into thinking this will be in the«good» category, nothing to see here move along. But then yo hear the angels singing as the pizza starts coming out. The glorious thin crust pizza, each one better than the last. The best dish we ordered wasn’t pizza at all but the Rotolo($ 4.50 each — can split between two but you’ll want your own), made with crispy pizza dough, mortadella, ricotta, and the best thing ever: pistachio pesto. These are a must order. This is a really short review for me because all I have to say is: come here for some of the best pizza in Philly. Period.

I love Pizzeria Vetri! I had been here this past summer and haven’t been back since. Stopped in the other night with a friend to grab something quick to eat since we were starving. The operative word being«quick». The host was so friendly and allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit. We chose to sit at the counter facing the pizza oven. It was fun to watch them make the pizzas, which also helped us decide what to order. Our server came by with a carafe of water for us and took our order. We decided on the Crudo and Melanzana pies to share. The«Crudo» had prosciutto, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and the«Melanzana» had crushed san marzano tomatoes, eggplant, stracciatella cheese, and oregano. The Melanzana was my absolute favorite and I could eat two of those pies myself. The pizza is thin crust and comes out extremely hot. For those people who complain about the crust being burnt, it’s an extremely hot oven! You may have to sacrifice a few burnt pieces for pure perfection! Just eat around it(in my opinion). A couple other things I wanted to point out: They had this Nuetella pizza that smelt and looked amazing, which I will definitely have to try at some point. They also served beer and wine. They have outdoor seating, which was still being used this past week. I love the open atmosphere of shared long tables and the counter space. I would absolutely return and recommend to friends in the area(and outside it!). ENJOY!

We went to Pizzeria Vetri for the first time for dinner the other night. We started with Rotolo… amazing! We shared a Napoletano Salsiccia. It was good but a little less crispy than other Neapolitan pizzas I’ve had. The knives were regular rather than those that often come with a Neapolitan pizza, so it wasn’t the easiest cutting it. The prices are reasonable. One thing that didn’t fit the environment was the music. It was all hip hop and rap. That would be fine in another restaurant, but it didn’t fit at all with the vibe at Pizzeria Vetri.

You can’t expect this place to be bad right? I mean its Vetri, its pizza, its in a cute little area of Fairmount… what’s not to like? The atmosphere is open and there are large shared tables in the middle with counters along the wall and a large counter in front of the pizza oven. You can grab one of these spots and watch them make the pizzas, though be warned it makes it harder to choose which to order because they all end up looking so good. The pizzas are delicious, and unlike some of the other artisan pizza places come in large(good for 3 – 5 people) or small(good for about 2 people). There are lots of choices all of which are different and yummy in their own right. My favorite is the four cheese, but the crudo and pepperoni are amazing, and the margharitta is simple perfection. Everything is fresh and the crust is thin without being crunchy. They also have a great beer list and very knowledgeable staff. It’s not cheap and for a larger group you definitely need a few pizzas. Its the new popular artisan style and not what you get at a normal pizzeria but I like it more.

One of the waiter suggested tuna pizza. I tried and it was really really delicious!!! I ordered it to go. By the time I arrived my hotel, the pizza was already a bit cold. However, the taste is still pretty great. The only thing is that the edge of the crust was a bit too burned. I ended up skipping those burned parts. But overall, this place is definitely great and you really can’t go wrong with pizza~ lol

Besides for the classic cheese slice at Lorenzo’s, Pizzeria Vetri would probably be my go-to pizza spot in Philly. I often crave pizza and after coming here a few times, I could probably eat here once a week, it’s that good(and conveniently located next to my favorite taco spot!). Every night of the week is pretty busy, but the later you come, the easier it would probably be to get a seat. My friends and I came most recently on a Tuesday night around 9 and sat at the pizza counter. Beware that while sitting here you see EVERY pizza being made and will probably want ever single thing you see. Between 4 people, we shared a cesar salad(AMAZING, but we prob should’ve gotten more than 1), 3 pizzas, and dessert. For the pizzas we had the Crudo, the special of the day(duck and jam), and the Salcissia. They were all delicious and unique in their own way, but I just love the Crudo so much. I’m not a huge fan of red sauce though, so maybe I’m biased. For dessert, please do not pass up the fried dough. It’s served with chocolate sauce or nutella. Might as well get a soft serve too. It’s all just so good!!! Vetri never fails!

This is a laid back pizza joint with several pizza options from which to choose. There are also a few salad choices but otherwise, if you’re not into pizza, this place probably isn’t for you. There are also a variety of wine, beer, and other drinks available. We really enjoyed our Melanzana pizza and sat at the counter so we saw them making it. The prices are a little steep depending on what you order but the pizza was good. It wasn’t very busy when we were there and our server wasn’t overly friendly or attentive. However, based on the food, I’d consider returning if I’m in the area.

Whoa… I’m impressed. I’m a pretty tough pizza critique and I was blown away. I had the renato pizza — it’s a white pizza with mozzarella, rosemary and olive oil — the Rosemary was an excellent addition and very aromatic. The dough was great but if I could say one thing, I wish there was more cheese to dough. I sat at the pizza bar and could watch them making the pizza… that was a lot of fun. All the pizzas are 13inches. The staff is very friendly. They only have one bathroom stall so you may have to wait a few minutes. Excellent prices. I will definitely be back.

I really want to like this place. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza is good. But is it worth the money? Meh. We ordered a Margherita pie and a spinach pie. Margherita seemed a little light on cheese, and the thin crust was soft, but a little too soft for my liking. Flavorful sauce, sure. But with so little cheese, it feels like I was eating a breadstick in sauce. The spinach pie was clearly the better pie. More cheese, strong flavors, all around good consistency. But to come here and pay the upper teens for what looks like 10−12″ pie? Not sure that’s worth it. Service was friendly, quite exceptional actually. Server engaged in conversation, joked around with us, checked up on us. Top notch service, almost TOO good for a pizza place, which is what I view this place as — nothing more, nothing less.

Excellent brick oven pizza! The crust is crisped up enough with some nice bubbly pieces from the brick oven and the sauce is just right(not overdone, not too much). The sizes of their personal pizzas is excellent for one person not to be overly full(yet, I wish I had some left to take home!). Of the pizzas I’ve had, here are my brief takes: Tonno — If you love tuna, you’ll love this(I don’t love tuna enough to get it again). The tuna flavor really powers through on this one. Quattro formaggi — My favorite — what pizza lover doesn’t love cheese? Try 4 cheeses! I really enjoy the melding of flavors with this one. Melanzana — If you love eggplant, you must try this one at least once. Like I said, I have my favorite now, but this one was wonderful. Only problem I faced was the toppings sliding off when I picked it up. Salsiccia — Great sausage pizza. The fennel flavor sets this one apart from any other. Rather have a calzone? You won’t be disappointed. I’m kinda of a hungry maniac so I was only saddened by the size but with a salad, as well, it’s perfect. I’m also generally sad when pizza time ends. For dessert, I must recommend their fried dough(Nutella not necessary). It’s their pizza dough just fried to puffy pieces of sweet, warm deliciousness. When I think friend dough, I generally imagine funnel cake or something extremely sweet and buried in powdered sugar; however, the people at Pizzeria Vetri do it just right with a bit of sugar on top. Let’s just say the dough speaks for itself. Also, excellent and fast service. I generally take out and they’re always ready with my pizzas within 10 – 15 minutes.

Maybe it’s sacrilegious that I’m posting this review on National Pizza Day, but I wasn’t wowed by the pizza here during my first visit. I arrived to the restaurant first and was offered a communal table or the pizza counter. Decided on the table since my party could have the end portion. I didn’t order a drink, but they did have a nice selection of craft beer. Their desserts also sounded interesting, so maybe one day I’ll have to head back and try something other than pizza. But as for the actual pie? Ehhh. The quattro formaggi pizza wasn’t *terrible.* It’s not like it was burnt to a crisp or was some flappy dough. In fact, it appeared to be presented the way it was supposed to be – and that’s a bit unfortunate. I’m sure the gorgonzola, mozzarella, smoked provolone, and fontina cheeses that the establishment uses for the pie are top-notch, but I wasn’t a fan. Maybe I’m just used to four cheese pizzas with ricotta on ‘em. I don’t know. I would not get it again. Also was told that the margherita was just okay. Kind of a bummer visit, overall.

The setup is very casual and the service was pretty good. That Ritolo thing everyone raves about was super tasty. Our pizza choices for the afternoon — crudo and quatro formaggi… sooooo flavorful! And to end it all we had the fried dough and coffee. You’re either a pizza person or you’re not. I’m not really a pizza snob so it could be a piece of bread with some sauce and I’d think it was good pizza. That being said, take this review with a grain of salt. I still enjoyed this experience despite my lack of expertise in this food group. I would compare it to Nomad Pizza as far as the thin crust and the types of pizza served with a few other signature items on the menu. Nomad has way better specials though and great happy hours.
