Owens is definitely a bar that I like and wouldn’t mind going to. I first went to Owens to support my girlfriends friend make a little extra cash for herself, which I didn’t mind spending extra money and giving her a nice tip! The prices for beverages weren’t much to complain about maybe about 2.50 $-3.50 $ for a bottle and 2.50 $ for a draft and a mixed drink might have cost around 5 $, possibly could have been 4 $, and shots were only 4 $. I thought this was really good and it’s better then those bars down on Frankford ave where there’s always high school reunions. You definitely get your money’s worth in alcohol and it is never skimped, loaded up with ice, or watered down. I went in there for St. Patrick’s day this past March and I had a great time, I mean I spent 40 $, but it was enough to have a great time.

This bar is a lot better than some bars in the Mayfair area. The prices are good and they don’t rip you off with their liquor. They actually give you nice size glasses and its not filled to the top with ice. This place is much more of a mature crowd unlike some of these bars where half the people in there are still in high school. Its not the most spacious bar but if your going with a small crowd it works.

If you want a dive bar with charm, Owen’s Café delivers. I’ve been twice now and both times have been a lot of fun. One of THE most motley crue of patrons I’ve ever seen, all fraternizing in harmony. Sat in a booth with my back to a dude in the adjacent booth who was wearing battery-lit flouresant glasses. Yep. Normal.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times, and every time, it’s been awesome! Last night, I was here with my fiancée for some drinks. The drink prices are awesome, and the bartenders definitely do not skimp you on alcohol. And the clientele is great, too! There weren’t many people there, but it was a very nice environment. The one guy(nicknamed Meatball) brought in Meatballs and Ratatouille and rolls for people and was not shy about sharing. I love Philadelphia bars, and this is one of my favorites.
