McKenna’s Bar

McKenna’s is a shit bar. It’s a dive bar in the worst ways imaginable. Sure, some other dive bars exude that «no fucks given» charm but at least provide good drinks and service. Mckenna’s offers none of that. It’s a hole in the wall. It’s main attraction is cheap drinks. These cheap drinks are low quality and they are served to low quality people. Someone once punched me in the face because they thought I took their money off the bar while they were smoking (Don’t get me wrong I still drank there for years). I was a fool for going there as many years as I did. There are so many better places out there that will give you respect and a better drink. Avoid McKenna’s.

There all racist… Irish bars up here in 19 111 area. but if it’s my dollar I play what I want spanish Arabian they have a problem put a dollar in or stop your racism… there a bunch of old drunks this March 27 Sunday Easter 2016 I go in after a long absence from here because I no it’s mellow and there to old to start trouble and boy I was wrong… i get a B! tch bleach blond bartender bimbo. she only works one day second time a problem with her first was a bloody marry that she said they don’t have horseradish for I even no we’re they keep it and don checked it was still there she said we don’t have any after showing her the fridge it’s usually at. and now Easter I emptied… two double shots of two bottles one of honey and two Hennessey whiskey .she didn’t give me any of them for free… after hours and when I first come inn. she ask me do I want to eat a hard boiled egg. she looks at me like I’m stupid because i said I never heard of eating hard boiled painted eggs. .specially I don’t no the die ingredients who touched them specially since they been sitting on a bar table all day. she gives me this look like I’m an idiot simply because I said I never heard or new they could be eaten but no thanks. and when I’m not there and my friend is there later on she is still bring up this conversation again. laughing with everyone. evidently she has no life .then to laugh at me because I don’t have her weird traditions I was born here but I’m spanish she only supposedly works one day and she picks Easter to be a dum bitch… Don is a sweet heart doll Denis is two… them other girls have to go. the fat night bartender lady that card my husband… with a 5inch beard he looks older than me… I shouldn’t of ever tipped any of them after four hours of bad service .and having to call blondy every time I need a drink while she’s texting… she’s a blond bimbo with an attitude sue needs to fire her ass from Mckenas bar on frankford and cottmon av. That and many other reasons I stoped going there and the games on they don’t like u playing music or spanish music at all for sure. and the Damn game is always on or they lower the music and if I stay there and empty two bottles those drinks should be fkn free they measure everything to the T. the old bald guy jack or whatever his name is that works there or use to or goes behind the bar sometimes an asshole the white haired guy is an asshole too always wanting the music lowered to watch games watch them home… it’s a bar and not all woman like sports there’s 3tv’s put a movie on for once or old music chanel Conan or be polite to your customers that blond chick had a bad mouth and I don’t want to hear it and to be ignored… she mest up my holiday and the egg thing wasn’t a big deal to be talking about it again once I left… sorry but I’m a clean person not white trash .just when I think all racism is done they surprise me again there the ones that invented that controversy they should just wright whites only on top of every Irish bar… I have seen people put ten dollars just to skip or keep playing rock or oldies not everyone has that taste I like it .but also my cultured spanish music also it shouldn’t be a big deal it’s my money and language .read a book if u don’t understand it or take the box out and serve to white hillbilly s only .don’t take my money if I can’t enjoy myself. my hubby goes for the cheap beer and headaches I go for shots some are reasonable and less drama so I thought but people do love to gossip and start she! t but a bartender should no better… funny to how some places treat u great when u come in and like she! t when your drunk but it’s there job to cut u off before u get there… that’s why I leave before hand and always check yr cash

The perfect corner dive. They were recently on Philly’s top 10 dive bars, which is upsetting because I love this being our little neighborhood gem. The bartenders are always nice, and attentive. The atmosphere is tiny and dark, and they have .90 PBR always flowing! what more could you as for?!

This place is my favorite. Great service. Cheap beers and cheap shots! Anne is the best bartender ever. Some nights can be a little rowdy. But most nights it’s a decent crowd.
