I’m a semi regular there and pretty much get the buffet every time. Never disappointed. 6 dollars for rice + 4 buffet choices + soup or can of pop. Usually there’s enough so that it can be divided up into two meals. How can you go wrong??? It’s solid. Is it gourmet? I guess not but can Chinese food ever really be gourmet? It’s a mom and pop quick chinese food take out place. Take it for what it’s worth. Definitely the best of the bunch in Chinatown. Yeah, there is seating but I’ve never sat in the place to eat so can’t comment on that. Can’t go wrong…

Ok, after hearing about this place for the longest time and how good their dumplings are, i decided to have a try. Mind you now, I am very bias for my mom makes the best dumplings and no one else’s compairs to hers! I’ll try to give you a unbias review. Yes the dumpling are fresh. I and a friend waited about 45 minutes for them. Why you ask, oh someone ordered about 15 dozen right after us and that took longer to make our 2 orders lol. While we were willing to wait a «few» minutes we got to see a drunk dude come in and trade a watermelon for a order of noodles. Then he proceeded to argue with himself over the watermelon he just traded in. Funny stuff. Oh well back to the restaurant… Finally we got our food, sat down and proceeded to eat. Dumplings were ok, not the best and certainly not the worst I ever had. I wish it had alittle more meat inside. The buffet on the other hand seem to be sitting there for a while. It didnt look too appitizing. The service was very friendly, quite appologetic for our waiting. They did offer us drinks for waiting, which was very kind of them. A for customer service! C for food. Happy Eatings!

I went with Pauline and agree that the noodles were just okay, but the dumplings were great. They were also clearly freshly made(they took awhile to come out — no complaints if that means they’re made to order!) and came out piping hot. I took some tea eggs to go and they were delicious! They had flavor all the way through, which is difficult to achieve. Everything is really reasonably priced(beef noodles + 10 dumplings + 2 eggs was 12.40) and the owner is super nice. Communication can be a bit of an issue, but with a little gesturing and pointing, it’s fine(plus the man is super nice so he gets an A for effort). I agree with Pauline that some of the buffet items didn’t look that fresh so definitely go for lunch. The fried rice looked like it was delicious! The atmosphere is very casual/to-go(though there’s ample seating) and the drink selection isn’t very good so I think to-go is the best option(though it was certainly a fine experience eating there).

Why no reviews yet? The person manning the counter was super enthusiastic and happy to see us there. We ordered dumplings and beef noodles and didn’t do the buffet. The noodles were kind of blah, but I really liked the dumplings! Very juicy, and the wrapper was the right amount of thickness for northern-style dumplings. We looked at the«buffet» dishes and they seemed like they have a good variety. There were a few that didn’t seem that fresh and I think if I came back to try the buffet I would come a little before noon to ensure maximum freshness. The buffet itself isn’t really«buffet» — they serve you a combo of rice/noodles, soup and up to four dishes for up to six dollars. Definitely a decent deal. It seems like their business is mostly takeout, so it’s weird that they have such a big space when they have so few dine-in patrons, but whatever. I think it would be nice to go with a group for a very casual dinner(they use plastic utensils and bowls, and they serve their dumplings on foam plates.) Overall, I liked it. They had a really cute desk in the back of the restaurant for their daughter to use and play with, which also lends it additional likability. Definitely coming back when I want northern-style dumplings.
