Diner At the Plaza

Bad food but very nice staff. Worst Pepsi ever, tasted like pool water.
Wouldn’t return again, unfortunately.

First time happened to be on an Easter Sunday!
Located in a plaza right on Snyder near a Subway and Boston Market, I’ve driven past this place many times and had never tried it until I saw it was highly recommended by a Facebook group.
A Foursquare tip recommended the burger so I picked a 6oz. Johnny burger with BBQ sauce, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and bacon. Very juicy and tasty! The fries were just how I liked them, nice and crisp! Also came with side of pickles and coleslaw.
The hostess was on top of things and very attentive. Lots of interaction with the guests. We were seated right away as there were many tables available. A few minutes later, the waitress brought our waters and asked for drink order (coffee) but we had enough time to look at the menu so she was also able to take our food order. The wait wasn’t very long and the waitress and host did stop by to check up and refill our coffee.
As I paid, the hostess offered me a gift certificate for our next visit.
Great service and great diner food. Will be stopping here again in the future.

I’ve been here tons of times over the years, they consistently have amazing food! I’ve probably eaten everything on the menu and its a big freakin menu! The waitresses are always friendly and nice!

I love Diner Bar! Great service. Generous Portions. One of my favorite places to unwind after work or on the weekend. Great mix of people of different ages and backgrounds – always makes for a good conversation.

The food here is decent and just your basic diner food. The burger I ordered was juicy and avocados make everything delicious. The service was quick, but our waitress seem like she wanted to be elsewhere. I will definitely return for a bite to eat.

This gem of a diner is located next to Snyder Plaza in South Philadelphia just off of Columbus Boulevard. As far as diner food goes, this place isn’t necessarily better or worse than most other Philadelphia-​area diners. The wild card that makes DIner at the Plaza so worthy of your time is the staff, which is comprised of then nicest South Philadelphia waitresses you will ever meet.
They’ll recommend what to try that day that is especially good, discourage your from making a bad decision, admit that they’re a bit slow because they’re still hungover from the night before (that happened this morning), and check on you regularly. Just for showing up you get discount coupons for their already discounted dinner specials.
Get this. For $ 9.99 during dinner time you can get an 8 ounce steak, two veggies, salad, soup, rolls, and your choice of pudding or Jello! How do you beat this?

I have been coming to the Plaza for a long time. The food is ok, it is located in an alright area. But it is the waitress that me and my family keep coming back. Theresa is one of the kindest women you have.

Got the Prime Rib meal which came with Soup & Salad along with 2 sides.
The meat was a bit fatty and the split pea soup was so-​so

The service was decent. Food was okay. One thing bothered me the most was I got stared at from bunch of «old» folks”. I would not go back here.
