Atlantic Pizza, I havent been here since i was a little girl with my family. We used to come every weekend for breakfast my grandmother actually spent many years waitressing here, her name was Lucy Cavanaugh. By the looks of the pictures it still holds the diner/luncheonette appearance that is timeless. Staff was always friendly and treated us like family. Very happy the establishment is still operating today, it is definitely a hidden gem in south philly. Ill be back in there within the next couple of weeks.

Great breakfast sandwich! Really nice and attentive staff. Quick service. And don’t worry about the supposed«hipsters». Every time I’ve been in there it’s full of local South Philadelphians. And when was it a bad thing that people brought money to a neighborhood?

With 12 reviews it’s probably too late to tell the yuppies to stay away. Whatever you do, please don’t tell them you’ve just moved from oregon or whatever the hell you people come from. They’ll drive the price up once they realize it’s not just neighborhood people going there anymore and you’ll ruin it like everything else you’ve ruined for us. Delicious 4 dollar breakfast.

I absolutely love this hidden gem. The hours are a little wonky but the value and service is excellent. Their hoagies are perfect and the breakfast sandwiches are awesome. The people that work there are super friendly and fast. The inside is small and looks a little run down but I won’t deduct a start because it’s part of the charm and it isn’t dirty it’s just dated. They have the old diner seating and barstools attached to the floor that give it a 1970s feel. It’s not a date night restaurant… actually I’m pretty sure they close at 5pm during the week. But it’s an awesome spot for breakfast/lunch.

Since the day I moved in town I’ve wanted to try this place out. The hours aren’t normal but i realized that they open earlier than advertise. The breakfast sandwiches are out of this world. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. Amazing. The owner is the one cooking and the man can cook. Hard worker and the place has been doing business for a long time. I can’t wait to try out lunch and dinner. The prices and food are worth the hunt of figuring out the store hours. If you really want good food and want to help small business, you have to try this place.

This is a first… I’m literally still eating as I write this review(the sandwich is a little hot so I figure I can start the review while it cools). My husband and I have been trying to get in here for the past month but their hours are a little tough to accommodate. Today was a special day where we were both up at the ass crack of dawn and it hit me, «We can finally get breakfast at Atlantic!» That thought made the early morning much more bearable. We both ordered the same thing– scrapple and an egg. AMAZING. Seriously– I’m tracking the calories(begrudgingly) — but still smiling about how good it is. We WILL be back for sure to try other things and I’ll update accordingly.

I looove going there! i live like right around the corner. The staff there is nice and the food is great! Just dont go in the summer because most of the staff is Greek and they go to Greece for about the month of july. Their menu has a ton of varieties and they serve breakfast too! do yourself a favor and go there right now!

Atlantic Diner is my favorite little hole-in-the-wall place to go eat. My father, a diner junkie, and myself have been going to this place for quite a few years now. A little hole in the wall, Atlantic Diner’s owners John and Betsy are always warm and welcoming. The food is cheap, and good to boot. I wouldn’t even bother with the other crap diners in the area. Get there early though because they close around 3. Their steak fries are the best!

Best, cheapest breakfast and the owners/waitresses are the nicest people! but unfortunately the last few times I’ve gone here I’ve noticed realtors taking their yuppie clients here to sign the paperwork that’s dooming South Philly to the grim fate of gentrification. They’re turning Annunciation into condos so the future looks bleak. Like Christine said, yuppies, please don’t ruin this for us. :(

Decent diner style food and the prices are very cheap. The meatball grinder hit the spot for me. The staff is very friendly and was attentive to our group. This is a great lunch spot if you don’t want to blow too much cash.

I’m laughing at the person who said. jokingly dont ever go here. meaning she rather it kept a neighborhood place not taken over by yuppies. This places is great it offers very resonable meals .from breakfasts(very simple) to sandwiches to awesome pizza. The pizza is very thin .the cust has a crunch not doughy type. more like a bar type pizza. The italian meals are very good. good gravy! lol The staff friendly and downhome. it’s been around for ages. the one draw back is if you eat in. it’s very small but does have a counter and a nice retro feeling to it. harkens back to the older days. Again. try the pizza esp if your just looking for a small pizza for yourself. and they will deliver…

dont ever come here. its too good to be infested with white people. and by white people i mean dumb hipsters that have been taking over south philly. it would ruin my childhood memories of coming here every morning to get an egg and cheese sandwich, which caused me to be late everyday for school.(annunciation, across the street.) or how everyday after school, i would rush over to get their mozzarella cheese fries and go hangout at the park right before my long softball practices.

Very unassuming, nice restaurant. Food was delicious(and cheap!), service was friendly and the experience was quick. I’d definitely recommend coming here.

I also wouldn’t want this place to become too recognized, but am compelled to give it a good review. Homey, down to earth service. Even if it was sort of absent-minded and slow at times, we didn’t mind — the waitress had to remind us of someone’s grandma afterall. Fine, filling and fast food for a Saturday morning coming to about $ 12.50 total for two of us. Local flavor with people loudly catching up about the gossip in the neighborhood. No wait, no pretension, just a cheap omlette to help with a small hangover. Awesome.

The Secret Diner. What can I say? Great breakfast specials for both weekdays and weekends. Old locals who moved to South Jersey years ago(no lie, this is a bona fide fact, I’ll introduce you to them) still drive to the diner a few mornings each week. A gaggle of little old ladies sit outside many days after their morning meal. I have never had the pizza to be honest. Greeks make breakfast and sandwiches the best, so I stick with that. Burgers, cheesesteaks, even their egg salad is good. Doo wop singers are outside the place crooning some mornings. I feel a little faint that I am revealing that it is a great breakfast place, because yet again, I want to keep it to myself and the locals(which is me, I live practically on top of the place). They close early, like around 4 or 5, so get there by about 1 for the good stuff. Go there, get the breakfast special. Soak it in. Walk around South Philly. Live!
