I love C’est Moi. I first started coming here maybe 4 years ago. I go to Brenda to get my sew-ins and at this point in my life wouldn’t go to anyone else. That crazy wild hair in my profile pic is the results of proper installations and consistent hair trims upon removal, as well as high quality products. She is very fast as well. I’m never in there all day. I can go in at 9 and be out by 12:30−1p. Honestly who has time to spend all day in the salon, so I respect the fact that she respects the time of her clients. I highly suggest this salon. Everyone speaks when you walk in as well which is a plus. They are generally nice people.

Let me just say I probably wouldn’t have been introduced to this salon had I not had a referral from glam extensions after their stylist supposedly had an emergency and wasn’t there to be able to do my sew-in. This salon is tiny with too many stylists trying to fit clients into one space. My stylist, I believe her name was Sandra or something of the sort, was dressed unprofessionally and while she was doing my hair rather scatterbrained. I explained to her that I wanted a flip part and she agreed that she could do versatile. She was back and forth borrowing a comb from another stylist who was using the same comb in her client’s hair at the time without the use of barbicide. When everything was done she was so proud of her work and encouraged me to look in the mirror. right away I noticed that not only was there not a flip part, but she created a part I could only wear to the left and it was created by two exposed tracks. Upon further inspection. there was a huge(and I mean huge) bump protruding out of the back of my head from where she braided my hair underneath. I could literally pull up the track and put my hand through some the part. I was terribly disappointed and then pissed when she charged me $ 200 and then immediately scooted out the door. I wanted to get the sew-in redone with a different stylist however they never picked up their phone and from other reviews I surmised that the other stylist weren’t all the better than my own. I had to pay someone else to take and re-do the atrocity on my head. She laughed and kept trying to figure out exactly what sandra was trying to achieve when she decided to do my sew-in. Needless to say I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

I walked into this salon hoping to get my strand by strand extensions removed. The wait time(no appointment) was somewhere around 30 – 45 mins, so when I was called up for my turn I was excited. However, when I sat down, my stylist was gesturing to the others that she did not know how to remove the kind of extensions I had on. The stylist next to her gave her like a 3 second instruction on how to do it before leaving her to her own devices. I actually stopped the service like 5 minutes into it because not only did it cost $ 40 to do(as compared to the $ 10 quote they had given me when I called in beforehand) but my stylist actually had not had any training or knowledge of how to remove my extensions. The staff was a bit chatty, but otherwise nice and understanding. Also, by the looks of it they do a good job on the extensions, but in my case it just wasn’t working out.

Let me start by saying that I’ve been here before and had a excellent experience and a horrible one too. The first time I came, I got my hair cut by Dia and it was wonderful. The service was great. The price was a little high but OK. The second time I came I had. 12:30pm appointment. At 2pm I was still sitting in the waiting area. I told Dia that I could wait any longer and left. I was given the option to come back, but I live in New Jersey. I paid $ 10 to park and $ 4 to come across the bridge– and didn’t get my hair done, coming back was not an option. Today is the third time. Service is OK– nothing bad to say. OMG! the girl that shampooed my hair is the worst! My stylist is great but this girl has sealed the deal for me. Oh– forgot to mention, I referred my boss. She paid $ 500 for a sow-in. She also said she love the stylists’ work but that was it. She would not be returning. All I can say is, Dia let me know when you move because I really LOVELOVELOVE your work. :-(

No No No! I had high hopes for this salon was immediately disappointed the moment I set foot in the door. I arrived 5 minutes prior to my appointment to find out that my stylist Brenda wasn’t there yet. So I signed in, took a seat and waiting about 40 minutes before I asked the lady at the front desk when she’s be in. She called Brenda on the phone as I stood there and apparently Brenda had NO idea of my appointment! She said she’d be there in 20 minutes. So I began to get my hair washed. When Brenda arrived, she didn’t greet me or apologize for being late. She just went straight to the back and started chatting it up with her co-workers. No one EVER apologize for the delay. They just continued on with their conversations. So inconsiderate. When I finally got in her chair, she may have said 3 words to me. The rest of the time, she spent holding conversations with EVERYONE else in the salon. At one point, a friend of hers came into the salon and she stopped doing my hair for about 20 minutes to step aside to engage in conversation with her. Didn’t excuse herself or anything. Just put the needle and thread down and stepped away. She’s fast though. Did a full sew-in in about an hour. Her technique is just okay and my braids are bulky, so it doesn’t lay as flat as I’d like. They also don’t seem to care about the health of your own hair. She was in conversation with someone and mentioned that it doesn’t matter if your hair is healthy underneath your weave. It only matters how good your weave looks because that’s the only thing they’ll see. That was also a big turn off to me. I’ve had WAY better weave installs by Gene Casamara and Syrieta over at Salon Vixxen. All in all, I won’t be back to this salon.

First, let me say that my hair came out beautiful and I was«bouncin and behavin» my entire walk home. I only give it 2 stars though because I didn’t appreciate the customer service. 1. I arrived as a walk-in at 6:00 and the receptionist told me «I was lucky» they were taking me — not the best 1st impression. 2. The shampoo girl attempted to COMBOUT my naturally curly hair — DRY!!! I left with my curls ripped to shreds… it took my curls 2 months to recover from this. SIDENOTE: IFYOUDON’T KNOWHOWTOCAREFORCURLS… DON’T PRETENDTHATYOUDO! 3. Once in the stylists chair, I was WELL taken care of ! The stylist was sweet… and even stopped the shampoo girl from putting the wrong product in my hair so that I would have more movement when it was dry. In summary, I would go back for emergency blow outs only… but only because there isn’t a Dominican salon convenient to me in South Philly(that I know of).

Okay so I just wanna say when you’ve been to a salon that is clean, modern, and shows you the best customer service(G. Casamera Salon) and then you come to Cest Moi, you realize that the grass isnt always greener on the other side. So my appointment was at 9:30am and tho there was a substantial amount of snow, I made it there on time, so why the employees of the shop didnt, is beyond me! The«shampoo girl» was very rude to me and actually took someone in front of me after I had been waiting for and hour and a half with NOSERVICE and then got an attitude with me when I questioned why she gave me the BIGGEST attitude and this other patron had just walked in! My stylist tho sweet, very unprofessional, left me in the shampoo bowl and went to have a converstaion with one of the other stylists, also didnt even walk me over to her chair, just walked there left me in the chair with wet hair and waived me over! Also she talked on the phone WHILECUTTINGMYHAIR! I wanted a trim and I felt like she took off a little too much, mabe because she was soooo engaged in her converstaion. The only plus about this salon is that they use good products, Vioxin. But sorry to say I will not be back!

This salon is primarily ethnic, and comes with a fantastic work crew. :) I walked into the South Street salon timidly, as this was a recommendation to a family friend’s salon, but I never met the woman. It was a tad funny, because knowing I was coming in that day, I was warmly welcomed with a «Look who it is!» by all the staff, warm hugs and compliments all around. I guess they knew who I was because I was the only white girl customer to come around :) The wait time to start if you are a walk-in is long, so appointments are strongly encouraged. I think I waited 45 minutes to an hour to get started. The friendly staff all works together, and I was taken care of by maybe 4 different women through my visit. I started with a hair washing from one, then moved on to a combing by another. Then another cut me bangs, and was very comforting about this big leap in my hair’s life. Her name was Brenda, the beautiful and polite owner of the salon. All the women there seem very young, all under 30? Another woman put me in the hair dryer, until finally I was brought back to Brenda for final styling. Holy wow, what a process! I think I’m just not used to salon hair cutting :) The staff is all very friendly and amusing, gossiping all the while and striking fun conversations. They also feel strongly about maintaining a respectful atmosphere and do not tolerate inappropriate or curse language. The décor of the salon is chic and unique, and there’s a beautiful sky ceiling for when your gazing pleasure while getting your hair shampooed :) Keep in mind that this is a primarily ethnic salon, so customers will probably take a long time, between weaves, straightening, etc. If you have ethnic hair yourself, I can tell you that my experience of watching all these processes was enlightening and awesome— the women did a fantastic job of giving everyone gorgeous, natural-looking straight hair, from weaves to flat-irons. I’d love to see them define ethnic curls :) If you have non-ethnic hair and are getting your hair done, remember that because most customers are ethnic, treatments and hairstyles might be standardized towards that audience. My bangs turned out a little too deep and wide, but I realized by looking at the girl next to me that it was very much an ethnic style of bangs, so I understood immediately my results. On the same note, the moisturizers they used on my hair must have been banging ethnic moisturizers, because 2 months later my hair is still like cornsilk… sweeeet. :) All in all, the experience was fun, enlightening, and great. The staff was wonderful, respectable, and carried a variety of personalities. The full service was a little pricey for me, I think it was around 50 dollars, considering all I wanted was bangs, so I maybe could have gone to chop-shop for something more affordable. But I think that’s pretty standard for a complete shampoo, conditioning, cut, dryer, style? I’d recommend it, but I again strong suggest appointments, and at least an hour of time allotted to your service.
