There is absolutely nothing about this place that warrants their obscene prices. When the average is 8.25 for a sandwich, I might as well go literally anywhere else and receive the same thing, if not better for cheaper. Oh, and 70 cents to add raw onions is ubsurd…

Shared a Irish and a Mexican omelette. Both were huge and quite good. This place lost 1 star do to the cook. Was not crowded at noon on a Sunday. Waitress took order and the cook disappeared for 12 – 15 minutes. Cigarette, or bathroom break??? When he reappeared, took his time getting prepped before getting food onto the griddle. Kinda strange. $ 21 with tip including 1 Pepsi.

If I could give them less than 1 I would. This place is right around the corner from my house but I’ll drive anywhere before stepping foot through their doors again. Rudest cook ever!!!

We were going to a movie and arrived early so we had some time to kill. We decided to try out the hawg and dawg. It had plenty of good reviews so we were excited to get our meal. Every thing seemed clean and well taken care of our server told us she has been there for years and it showed she was very friendly and took her time to explain some of the ingredients to make sure it was allowed on my dietary restriction list. finally the moment of truth the arrival of our 2 Ruben sandwiches, they were fabulous! Bread perfect, meat had plenty of flavor we have found our new go to place for Rubens. if you love a great Ruben this is the place!

I went to Omega Hawg and Dawg two weeks ago for breakfast with one of my friends. This location is very small and there isn’t much of a parking lot, but there is room on the street. This is a very casual diner with huge omelettes. I ordered a vegetarian omelette with green peppers, onions, mushrooms and subbed Swiss cheese for american the normally comes with it. The omelette comes with hash browns and toast. I declined the toast options. I also requested egg whites only and a side of turkey sausage. My omelette came out and wasn’t egg whites, but the waitress kindly had it re-made after I told her the error. My friend ordered the Hippie Hash and really enjoyed it. It looked huge. When my food came back out, it was really good! The omelette was cheesy and full of veggies, not lacking quantity of items at all! The turkey sausage however was flat, tasteless and kind of burnt. That is my only recommendation to not order that, but opt for regular sausage because my friend had that and it looked good. They were quick with the check and it was very affordable.

Really disappointed with this place. I drive by all the time and have been curious about these«giant omelettes» and«best burgers». So my family and I gave it a shot today. Our waitress was older and pleasant. It’s a little pricey for your normal diner food. $ 7.00 + for coneys fries and a large drink. Meh. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, my mom ordered blueberry pancakes and dad ordered a coney dog. I was not given a choice on how I wanted my burger to be cooked. It was well done and had little to no flavor. I liked the bacon added on top but this definitely wasn’t the best burger I’ve had. I chose to get a coke with my food and I sent it back because it tasted really flat to me. My mom asked for a little extra butter for her pancakes and the waitress gave her vegetable oil«butter»(which is not real butter) so she asked if they carried it and she said no that’s all they had. Which is kinda strange for a breakfast place. She also asked for sugar free syrup and they sadly didn’t carry that as well. So to compromise my mom asked if they had any marmalade, again they didn’t. They had a couple flavors of jam to chose from. Those are simple requests but I’ve never had that butter issue anywhere. I don’t think we’ll be back unfortunately. I didn’t see what the hype was! Just mediocre diner food you can get at a Coney Island.

I just moved to Ferndale and stopped by here before a drive back to my hometown. I was impressed with the service and food at this restaurant. I came in around 10am and my food was served within 10 minutes. The cook and waitress were relaxed and easy to talk to. I felt like I was back in a 50s diner! Cheap and quality food!

My mom and I gave this place a try and we were both very pleased with our dining experience. Our food came at us fast and hot. The interior was clean and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Their omelettes are gigantic, fully loaded and come with a huge pile of tasty fries or hash browns. Their corned beef Reuben sandwich is stacked, flavorful and topped with just the right amounts of cheese, dressing and sauerkraut. Omega is a simple, satisfying and affordable choice. My mom and I are looking forward to going back!

Since moving to the area, this is our favorite place. The omelettes are huge and taste amazing. The sliders are everything you want them to be. And the chicken pitas are the best. As the sign advertises, they are the best.

I’ll admit. I’ve lived in Ferndale for about 10 years and until this past weekend, completely ignored Omega Hawg & Dawg. I mean, there are so many great restaurants in Ferndale there isn’t much need to try a little neighborhood coney, right? Wrong. My boyfriend and I love to go out to breakfast on the weekends, but simply got tired of waiting an hour for a table during breakfast or brunch. Yesterday, we decided to try another approach… the neighborhood coney without the line out the door. It was Sunday morning at 11:00 am when we arrived. It was quiet — only one other table with a couple and someone waiting at the counter for a carry-out. He ordered the Breakfast Burrito(special) and I ordered the Club Omelette. The food was served within 10 minutes, the server warmed up my coffee before I ever saw the bottom of the cup. Both of our meals were delicious. The potatoes were crispy and fresh. We have found a new breakfast place!!! I actually feel a little stupid for ignoring this place for so many years. Give it a try — you won’t regret it!

I’ve only been here for breakfast, but I really like this place. It’s a small diner, nothing fancy, but it’s got good food, speedy service, and low prices. If you’re hankering for a good breakfast and don’t want to wait for hours at the places in downtown ferndale, go here. They even offer breakfast take-out, which is great if you live nearby and don’t feel like cooking in the morning.(Great for lazy weekend mornings.) Omelets are good and so is the standard eggs, sausage, hash browns breakfast fare. They’re biscuits and gravy are decent as well. If you like good ol’ basic breakfast food like I do, you’ll enjoy this place.

We went here a while ago after several friends recommended it. My son had french toast, hubby had eggs over medium with bacon and toast and I had scrambled eggs with sausage and toast. The French Toast was really yummy. I know because I ate half of my son’s breakfast since mine was pretty much inedible. I ate one link of sausage but had to spit out a bite into a napkin because of a gross chunk(looked like and hope it was excess casing) inside, and no, it was not just fat. My eggs has an odd taste, almost like they went bad. Hubby’s eggs, however were well cooked and he said the bacon was pretty good. He tasted my eggs and agreed they tasted strange. I wanted to love this place but I probably will not be back.

I just had the Irish Omelette with corned beef hash, onion, mushroom, potatoes & swiss cheese… delicious & huge. It was so good that instead taking half home I ate the whole thing right there, so much for my good intentions! My waitress was very attentive & the food came out fairly quickly. A great meal, recommend. :-)

Omelettes are good, had the Irish Omelette — corned beef hash, mushrooms, onion, potatoes and Swiss cheese… wrapped in about 4 eggs. w/toast too. The above omelette and a pop was about 9.50 Service fast but they were using the counter to put away things as people were sitting there. Small basic place for breakfast and lunch with coney food… clientele is locals to the surrounding neighborhoods. Will be back if I am seeking a fast breakfast.

i went to the omega hawg and dawg deli because i was tired. tired of waiting for breakfast. i love the fly trap and toast and hilton road café, but unless i get up at 7am i never get a table. i am not the kind of girl that wakes up that early unless i haven’t fallen asleep yet. so, after leaving the hilton café because i was over waiting, i found omega hawg and dawg. i ordered the corned beef omlette covered in country gravy. this place actually has some really good, not dog food corned beef. the omelette was big, tasy, gravy-y and cheap. 6.99 for omlette with toast and hash browns. now that i have returned many more times, i like the place even more. the waitress is quiet, but good and able. they are no longer cash only love, juston.

Great diner. I love that they have burgers AND sliders. Great fries. And a terriffic staff. Wish there was more seating and the booths are SMALL. A very tight fit. But they have a counter to sit at on stools(like any reputable diner). I think I may become a regular here. Good food, good price and good people.

Great little breakfast and lunch joint. Simple good food at a good price. Nothing fancy. No long line out the door, which is refreshing if you live in Ferndale and want to go out for breakfast. I have been a few times recently and I keep getting the same thing(cause it’s good). The Greek Omelette. It comes with gyro meat, feta cheese, and tomatoes inside. They advertise having Giant Omelettes and they aren’t lying. Accompanied with hash browns and toast, I have yet to finish my meal.

Stopped at the light on the way to lunch, noticed the full parking lot. Short discussion — «We should try that some day» — «How about right now» — «OK». Right turn becomes left turn and in we go. Service was very good. We had a selection — omelettes, coney dog, reuben. Get one of the specials — better priced than the normal sandwich combo. All of them were above average. We plan to go back for Coney Tuesdays. Pretty standard diner fare. One exception was the unusual selection of soup of the day. Spinach Parmesan and Rosemarina. Had to ask what the second one was(tomato base w/orzo). Had the Spinach Parmesan and it was pretty good. Figured the price differential from Woodward Ave restaurants is about $ 2/sandwich. I like saving a buck here or there, so that alone will probably bring us back.

A nice option for a Ferndale breakfast when you don’t have the time or the cash for any of the hot brunch spots along Woodward. Omega is small, but they weren’t packed when I visited. The window advertises«Giant Omelettes,» so I had to order one to see if they lived up to the hype. The menu is standard diner — sliders, sandwiches, and a decent breakfast line up. I went with the Greek omelette — gyro meat, tomatoes, peppers, feta. My dining companion got the meat lovers. The omelettes came with hash browns(which tasted a little frozen GFS style, but I am a lover of all hash browns so i was still ok with it) and toast, or you have the option of swapping the hash and toast for a side of pancakes, no additional charge. The omelette was big… but I’ve seen bigger. ;) It was thin, which I liked. Not the kind where the eggs are all puffy and an inch thick. The bulk of the omelette was in the generous fillings, which were delicious. Neither of us were able to finish our entire plates — not close to it, actually. So for about $ 6 each, I can’t complain about the value. Service is what you’d expect in a diner, which is to say a little rushed and not the friendliest, but gets the job done. We had to wait with our cups on the edge of the table for coffee refills longer than what we would have liked. But like I said, it’s a diner. And if you keep that in mind, Omega will deliver exactly what you expect.
