I have been to a few other Outbacks, one in Michigan, one in Puyallup, and this one in Federal Way. Let me just say this one was pretty crappy compared to the rest. My salad was wilted. Not just a little wilted but should have been thrown out wilted. The women next to me were complaining of either of dirty silverware or hair in their food, I couldn’t exactly hear. My server smelled so strongly of cologne I thought I might be in a strip club. Anyway, this is not a good Outback.

So this was the only place that was open for Father’s Day and my dad REALLYREALLY wanted to go here for their burgers because he was craving it. So I took him here and we scanned the menu, and my dad really wanted me to drink with him(I don’t usually drink due to acidic food/beverage don’t do me no good for my stomach). Hell, it’s Father’s Day, he can do whatever he wants– so we ordered our drinks. But their tabs were broken… My dad wanted Mac & Jack and they didn’t have that. I asked for Manny’s and they didn’t have that either(bummer) so we just went with Bluemoon instead. He ordered his burger and I ordered salmon plate and hey, it was pretty good. The service was great too as the waiter checked on us occasionally. I’ve never been here because for one I’m Peskatarian but this place isn’t too bad. The service was good, food was good, wish they had more beer option :/but my dad was happy and that’s all that matters :)

I always used to come here back in the early 2000’s. Time has not been kind. My largest complaint with this restaurant; it’s terribly understaffed. We arrived at 3pm on Saturday and the bartender was waiting tables? All counted I saw three people taking care of the five or so tables occupied. Our server(Gage) was very friendly, accurate and kept us informed on the status of our various requests. I appreciate that a lot. Food was very good. I ordered the No Rules Rib Combo. Cooked well, nice mountain of fries to go with it and a Sam Adams to wash it down. I fully enjoyed my meal. Had to wait quite a while for the server to take my check for payment. By this time(a little after 4pm), the dinner crowd started to arrive yet the number of servers didn’t noticeably change. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and was thankful I didn’t have anywhere to be in a hurry. Staff was awesome yet very few of them around. Pros: + Food was very good + Server(Gage) was accurate and attentive +Comfortable Atmosphere Cons: — Understaffed … badly — Long wait times for anything because of understaffing

Terrible food, terrible service! The prime rib was dry, the broccoli was brown, and the potato tasteless. Way overpriced! Never going back. Really sad that they have sunk so low. This was once a favorite spot for our family and now it is no better than a fast food joint.

Was so disappointed in the service and the food at the Federal Way Outback. The service was slow, my playing card sirloin was tough and dry and to top it all off, the seat on the toilet was loose and injured my leg. The manager offered a leaky bag of ice and said he would close that stall but when we left it was still available. No offer of compensation and he never even apologized. I usually love Outback. Maybe from now on we just go to the one in Southcenter. Too bad you can’t rate in negative stars. I emailed the corporate office about it and they haven’t even bothered to respond. Avoid this one!

Wow. What the heck are these people talking about?! Outback Steakhouse is great. I like the steaks here more than the ones at Black Angus down the road. Plus, they’re cheaper too. The premium salads(appetizer) here rock, they’re about as good as Denny’s. The No-Worries-Wednesday deal is also nice to have. You can concentrate, or talk at a regular level here — the restaurant and bar always have just the right amount of people. The strip mall this place is located in isn’t the most attractive, hosting a bunch of shady Asian businesses and a thrift store, but this place is on the corner so that’s cool. Parking here is fine, don’t know why others are complaining. Overall, this is Federal Way’s best and most convenient american steakhouse. It’s near a bunch of places like the Federal Way Transit Center, Commons Mall, FW City Center, Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton Inn & Suites, Best Western, and it’s Located off I-5 Exit #143. The only thing that bugs me about this place would be the ugly front door and the décor could use some work. That’s what’s keeping this place from 5 stars. Thanks for reading, and bon appétit!

To whom this may concern, Jesse was our server last night. There were eight of us dining for Mother’s Day and from the moment we sat down till the time we left there was not one moment we felt we had good service. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizers never came. It took way too icy time for the food to come. Our food came out cold we sent the steak and lobster back it returned to the table rubbery and overcooked. I told them I could not eat my steak and lobster that way so they offered to bring me another plate. Most every one at the table was done eating by know! By the time I receive my plate everybody else was done and ready to go. We were always waving down our server, he never once came to our table to ask us what we needed without us waving him down or another employee. Furthermore, the store was not terribly busy either. This was definitely my worst experience at outback. My son felt horrible because he wanted to take me out for a nice dinner. We did not have one offer to refill our drinks or anything. It truly was the worst experience ever. Jesse would bring the food and literally run away. We would have liked steak sauce. Oh my gosh, we couldn’t get any ones attention to get that or a refill. We all just wanted to go home. We were thirsty. A Cocktail would have been nice. Have you ever heard of anything so rediculous! We finally got someones attention asked for a to go box and our check. We couldn’t get out of there faster Enough! With as many steak houses out there, I thought you might want to know what’s going on in this one!

After reading all of the negative reviews we almost chose not to head to The Outback in Federal Way but chose to try it anyway. Why, because we wanted the Blooming Onion which we received and it was delicious. Next two of us order the Porterhouse and were satisfied with what was delivered. One of us ordered the Halibut and unfortunately she said it was a tad over done. The last dish was the ribs and she raved and raved about them so from a food standpoint, we were not disappointed. The three stars comes from the service being somewhat slow but it was a packed restaurant so some slack is given. Our server was pleasant however could have checked on us more frequently. So, would we go back, yup.

Service was really slow. Food portions good. I always get the bloomin onion and regret it afterwards because of all the grease. Honestly you can probably find some place better in this area. Lots to choose from.

Parking here is a nightmare, lets just start with that. When you enter it is clean and the host we had was very nice. We were seated in a comfortable booth with the menus already at the table. We were greated by our waiter who was very nice and quick with bringing our drinks. When the bread came… well that should have been a sign. The knife that was given for it was dull, more like ripped the bread, and it had no flavor. We ordered a blooming onion which was extremely salty. Then our food came. The steak was cooked perfectly however again with dull knives. It was so fatty too. We requested blue cheese crumbles which was the most blue i had ever seen and extremely strong. For people who love blue cheese we couldnt even eat it. After removing the cheese we found the steak had no seasoning on it. Fries over salted. Their ceaser dressing had a very strange taste. The whole thing was just a horrible experience. We wont be back and will never recommend it.

What a disappointment. Host asked my 22 year old fiancé if he wanted a kids menu. Order soup that came after the entrée. My steak was a hockey puck. No sauce that was discussed at the time of ordering. No refills on our drinks. Stale bread. Called back to tell the manager about the experience and was on hold 22 minutes. I actually drove back down there and stood in the reception area still on hold. Strike 2 and YOU’REOUT!

Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever encountered… well, non-service actually. We sat waiting for 25 minutes until we asked if we even had a waiter or waitress to the host. He went to a waitress, that actually argued in front of us, that we were not her table… a table of 2(who always tip over 20% because we understand how hard your job is). We promptly got up and walked out. We will never again come back. That was unprofessional and WILDLY inappropriate. We left and came to The Ram a block away. We now get why your resturaunt was empty… on a SATURDAYNIGHT.

Came here with our toddler. They have a standard kids menu– tad bit overpriced for what you get. No specials and the menu itself is a bit steep for a regular family dinner. Thankfully we had a gift card. Service was nice but the waitress was forgetful had to remind her for several items. For prices so high you shouldn’t feel like you’re sitting at Applebee’s with the lights turned down.

My wife and I came here to eat dinner. We stood there for several minutes, and did not even get a greeting. Waitstaff walked through the area, looked right at us, but kept walking. Absolutely horrible way to run a business.

We come here for dinner every couple of months because my bf loves their wings and it’s close to home. The service is usually pretty good and quick — consistent. The waitresses are sweet. They may forget your side of ranch or something once but just remind them once and it’s there. No big deal. What’s disappointing is the availability of bar selection. My bf tried to order a touchdown or a vitamin c but they were out of all orange mandarin and other types of citrus or any fruit flavored vodka. All brands! This was the last time. Previously, they were out of red bull. Before that, they were out of Hennessy. Keep your bar stocked for goodness sake you’re a fully operational restaurant with a liquor license and a functional bar. Otherwise the place is clean. As for the food, the wings are delicious, the baked potatoes are divine, and the steak is simply ok but not one you’ll be salivating over the following week at the thought of it. However, it’s not a bad place to visit time to time especially for their wings !!

Yuck. Bad service and nasty food. Won’t ever come back here. After waiting ten minutes to even be seated, we ended seating ourselves at the bar and bartender helped us however after watching him wipe down the bar and touch dirty plates and not wash his hands and proceed to handle our food was over the top gross. Don’t eat here just sayin…

We have given this location SOOO many chances over the years and its just never been a good experience. Poor service, wrong orders, rude wait staff… IDK …When they screw your meal up they offer to fix it but meanwhile the rest of your party is already digging into their meals or you have to wait additional time for them to get everyone’s meals correct… The free dessert or extra baked potato offer just don’t cut it for the consistent poor service. I love the location in Tacoma & haven’t had issues there… but to be fair I also haven’t been there for over a year so I’m hoping it’s still good because I do like the Outback, just not the Federal Way location. It’s a shame because the FW location is very convenient but just not worth the hassle anymore :/

Went on a dead Wednesday evening. The hostess took a few minutes to appear and show us to our seats. That same hostess never told our waitress of our arrival, and the waitress only found out once we asked about ordering drinks after a good five minutes. The hostess basically ruined our experience there, but the waitress along with the food kind of made up for it. Will not return — would rather drive the extra length to go to the Southcenter/Tukwila location.

I came back… Why did I come back. Here is a game you can play when you come to outback steakhouse. Order the chicken on the barbie dish and order the Mahi Mahi dish.(Either one they are identical). Now close your eyes or put on a blindfold. Have someone switch around the plates; now take a bite of each and try to decide which one is fish and which one is chicken. They will both be overdone, they will both be tough as cardboard, they will both have the exact same seasoning. I bet you can’t guess the right dish 2 out of 3 times. Some of the worst food I’ve ever had. Service wasn’t too bad actually so they get a second star but honestly the only dish they have worth eating is a deep fried onion. Apparently that is the secret to staying in business.
