Fresh juice and the real sandwich artist. Soups are outstanding too. This is the real meaning to eating fresh.

Employees are SO sweet, the atmosphere is calm, and they have the best salad bar in federal way. (Buy their caesar dressing, it is so worth it.)

I shop here and Trader Joe’s almost exclusively. Great selection of fantastic items and their bulk selections are tremendous!

I have been eating, networking and finding healthy solutions at Marlene’s for many years now. The food is always fresh and delicious and their products of the highest quality! We are very lucky to have them here with us in Federal Way! And special thanks to Tina and Christine for all of your expertise over the years!

Visited the deli for lunch today. Mom and I both got the 8oz soup and half sandwich and were pleased. There were four soups for today and I had the very spicy but creamy one with jalapeño and bacon. I almost cried from the spiciness but it warmed me up. You basically build your own sandwich after choosing the base. I had roasted turkey, mayo, whole wheat bread, and all the vegetables available for free. Didn’t realize jalapeño was on that list and my mouth was on fire. But if you add all the veggies, the sandwich will be at least 3 inch thick and it’s like you have a free salad within your sandwich. Anyways, we both enjoyed the sandwich and soup. We thought soup size could be bigger but if you add all the vegetables you will feel full. The salad bar looked appetizing as well and so did the sweets. The gift area is very interesting to see and I love the grocery area for the rare items you can’t find at normal supermarkets.

One stop shop for my dairy free and gluten free stuff. I have yet to check out their bakery section upstairs.

I will say that yes, they can be over priced. So maybe do some shopping at Fred Meyer before coming here to get the items you know are cheaper there. But they carry items most places don’t and that’s why I love them! I love having no doubts that everything I am purchasing is organic and wholesome. Their deli is AMAZING! If you ever need a quick bite to eat I would highly suggest coming in. I also loved their baked good they sell. Mouth watering and all made fresh for you! On top of all that the staff is wonderful.
I cannot go a week without their gluten free & paleo chocolate cake! If you are gluten free or paleo you must check out the bakery! Usually a lot of options :)

Clean and relaxed neighborhood market with quality products. Great deli. I am not accustomed to getting such a high level of customer service anywhere else. Friendly efficient counter staff waiting to help customers. Cashier Caroline was genuinely friendly, knowledgable, and very helpful. Store is well staffed with 20-​something kids who are all on the ball. Worth the drive if you’re not close.

I was on my way back to Seattle from Cannon Beach. I was looking for some food early morning so I checked to see what options I had to choose from. Marlene’s Market & deli was a place I had already booked marked. Lets try it out while I can.
Alright so this place is two stories. First floor is the grocery store. Really neat selection of healthy options. Definitely reminds me of a Whole foods or Sprouts. Second floor is the deli & juice bar area, & they even have some souvenirs. The space is huge on the second floor, lots of seating space. They have an elevator to take vs stairs if your feeling lazy.
They also have a salad bar area which had some good looking options. I was in the mood for a sandwich so I opted to get the blacked tofu wich on a 9-​grain bread. The sandwich was exceptional! The veggies tasted extremely fresh & the tofu was very flavorful. Giant sandwich too!
The staff is extremely nice & courteous. I guess I looked like I wasn’t around this area so they were happy to help. Food is superb & store is really neat. If anybody is in the area this place is a much try.

4 stars because it’s one of the only health stores in federal way, and prices are reasonable. One star removed as the employees aren’t nearly as knowledgable as the employees at whole foods or super supplements. If you know exactly what you need, Marlene’s is great and reasonable! If you have questions about supplements take a trip to super supps or whole foods first to ask specific questions. It’s a little frustrating to read the backs of supplements for 10 minutes and then sit and watch the employee do it when I have a question. And then tell you they are unsure without even trying to ask another. Other than that, I absolutely love Marlene’s.

The salad bar is extensive and fresh, and reasonably priced. Very clean inside and friendly service! Wish I lived closer, I’d come all the time!

Great store, fresh organic produce. Love the great selection of organic and fair trade products on the second floor. The deli is wonderful, loved my chicken pot pie and kale tomato salad. Yummy!

Pretty much love everything about this place. I have yet to go in there and ask a staff member a question that they didn’t know the answer to. They have the products I need, and a lot of products I didn’t even know I needed until I got to the store!
As someone that has a sensitivity to wheat, I appreciate all of the wheat-​free items they have available. It makes shopping so much easier!

Be extremely careful when you shop here, the last two consecutive times I shopped here, they tried to overcharge me tremendously.
The first time, I bought two items at the deli, they charged me twice for one item. When I immediately went back in for a refund, it took the cashier 20 min to refund me, plus she was sick and coughed on my items. Granted, I understand that many people have to go to work when they are sick to make ends meet, but illness in the food industry is a public health concern.
I was hesitant to go back again. When I shopped there the second time, the cashier tried to charge me 400% more than the true price on one bag of produce. When she was finished helping me, she shoved my grocery bag at me.
It is extremely disappointing that in a city over-​run with fast food restaurants, attempts to eat healthy are met with exploitation and rudeness.

I love Marlene’s. I live in Los Angeles, so Whole Foods is my everyday lunch spot. Whenever I am home visiting my mom in Federal Way, since there is no Whole Foods, Marlene’s is my spot. I am a vegan and health nut, so of course, it is awesome.
They have a great selection of vitamins, and I love their little section with clothes, hats, gifts, jewelry etc. And the juice bar is great.

I have a pretty serious love/​hate relationship with Marlene’s. Because I work around the corner from here I frequent this place at least once a week. I love their salad bar, I love their organic produce selection.
And the deli is awesome… Only when they get my order correct tough. I would say it’s wrong a solid ⁴⁄₅ times. And because I’m always in a hurry I never have the time for them to correct it. Is seems like you can request the bread type and meat/​tofu, and everything else is a total crap shoot! I just don’t understand the constant mishap.

Fed Way is lucky to have such a great organic store in their town! There are certain quality milk that only this place and Whole Foods carries. Their veggies are fresh, great kids vitamin options which only this place seems to carry, and not even Whole Foods. It seems like this store sells only the top quality organics. I only wish they carried organic bacon. All in all, I am willing to make the drive to just get the products that I need.

I’m so happy Federal Way has a local health food store. They have a café upstairs with amazing soups, sandwiches, and the best salad bar. It is pricey, but I think it’s worth the quality you get from the store. They even have a juice bar– yay! They have a great produce section, variety of unique options for diary products, and a lot of fun healthy snacks. Even their lotions and soup products are organic and healthy.

This place is SUPER expensive! But if you must have organic and the weird stuff, this is the place to go. I only came here for scented oil extracts but paid a fortune for it.
The inside and out is very clean and well organized. It’s a great place to shop with helpful and friendly staff… but be prepared for some serious sticker-​shock!
