Emerald City Smoothie

Love their smoothies! Unlike other emerald city places they actually use real fruit and not much syrups.

I’m slightly confused why others are attempting to crucify the customer service? I come to this store and the Twin Lakes one semi-​often and have never had any «horrible» customer service experience. I mean granted, I’ve had the occasional impersonal chat but that’s to be expected anywhere, it’s called minimum wage folks. I believe if you treat the workers nice and warm then they’ll return the favor — which they do 90% of the time. The one time I had a problem with my smoothie (was trying something new), I wasn’t a fan of the texture so I asked them if they wouldn’t mind making again without the raw fusion (vegan protein) and they did without any hesitation and I loved it.
CON (S): The only things that is keeping me from 5 star however, are the fact that they don’t have tips on those little credit card receipt thingies, which is the only way most people these days tip which I believe reflects badly on the owners.

Horrible customer service. The heavy set female had no customer service at all. I was paying for my drink I used my card she sets the receipt down … I ask «am I suppose to sign this???» She responds yes?! Like I’m stupid. She could at least hand me a pen or tell me to sign it. How was I suppose to know … Once I walked in, no smile from her or a hello, just a mad mean mug look on her face… Never going here again! I suggest you go to a diff emerald smoothie location. She should be fired !!! Very Unacceptable

It’s 8:05am and the doors are still locked and lights are off but they’re supposed to be open at 8am! Come on Man!!!

Wow. Just had the worst customer service ever. I don’t ever write reviews, but Jesus Christ I just had to. I’m literally in my car writing this in front of the store!
First off, the girl I had was just so rude! She had no customer service skill whatsoever. She was trying to rush me out of the store! And I was the only one in there. I’ve worked in the customer service arena before, and I know how it is. You have your bad days, I get it. But, at least try a little. It is your job!
Anyways, she quickly asked me «what can I get you?» With no smile at all. Then I said my order. After that she just kept rushing me. On top of that, my smoothie also was not well made.
I go to the one in cap hill, and they know customer service there for sure! And they know how to do their job. Also I was looking for a way to identify the girl who helped me. Thank goodness there was a bulletin board with the staff’s pictures and their favorite drink. To be fair I’m not going to a snitch who she is publicly. Unless the manager from the store would like me to id her. Wow. I have never been this disappointed before.
Also, I just threw away my smoothie. My smoothie has never tasted like this! I also usually tip, even when I get bad service. Bad service = NO tip.

I’m usually a Jamba Juice girl but a friend wanted to come here. I really liked it — the board was large and not easy to figure out (I’m sure it just takes some time and patience). Prices are better than I thought but the ingredients are «real» not artificial. Definitely will be back…

I feel better after seeing the previous reviews because nothing has changed since 2011 — customer service here is still mildly insulting. I don’t really mind crappy service if the food tastes good, and in this case it seriously does! I wouldn’t mind seeing these b****es everyday provided that they serve me their awesome smoothies!!!

Awesome smoothies, very healthy! Unilocal directions are bad, it’s by the Ivar’s, same parking lot. I was so happy to find this place, we are here from out of town, and we needed to find a healthy smoothie/​juice bar. This fit the bill for smoothies. The staff is SO NICE and helpful! I’ll be back!

Parking in the morning was good. Inside was a small shop with a nice counter area for ordering. The menu items were printed large, very readable from behind the counter. The attendant was fashionable with a a pink scarf. I found my choice, the Sambazon. The blend was good and filled a mondo sized cup. One for the road. I’ll be back.

A healthy treat no matter the season. They are open early which I’d nice for those that workout early in the a.m. I come here when I’m in the mood for a smoothie in lieu of a meal. The smoothie makers are friendly and the owner is a hoot. I often order the slim and fit with blueberries. I have ordered other items and like them just fine. I appreciate being able to see the estimated nutritional value-​it makes me more mindful of my drink choice.

Although this location is further from my house I often go here simply because there’s a girl there that remembers me. Hey hey! Customer service goes a long way, and it’s always nice going to a location where they remember who you are and what you order.
I’m not too much of a fan of the other people that work there. But the girl with the glasses and the septum piercing is always willing to chat it up and make me my SLIM-​N-​FIT with Peanut Butter. Never once has it come out as a failure. But aside from all that, I’ve always been happy with the drinks that come out of here regardless of who’s working there that day.

Welp. I’ve been a longtime fan of ESC… I used to go to the one in Puyallup all the time. I work in Federal Way, however, so I’ve come in here now a couple times. Quality of smoothies is always steadfast; pretty awesome. A refreshing, healthy treat.
I was really disappointed, though, in the customer service the last time I went. The two girls working were polite, at best. They didn’t smile, they recited off the standard «what can I get for you today» and then followed by the traditional «regular or mondo» (note: I left the? marks off my quotes because the questions were posed SO lifelessly, I could hardly tell they were questions) and before I knew it, I was off to the side of the counter and waiting for my smoothie.
Enter middle-​aged man. All of a sudden, the girls come to life. They are magically THRILLED to be working at a quiet smoothie shop, laughing cheerily, attempting to guess this man’s smoothie order, wailing in defeat as they mis-​guessed a portion his custom order. I just stood there, staring. I’ve never been so close to publicly confronting an employee of an establishment before.
OK, I get that he’s a regular. And a guy. But, seriously? What a way to make someone — who could have been well on their way to BECOMING a regular — feel completely unnecessary. I was dumbfounded at the BLATANT shift in outlook and attitude by the girls working. Super disappointing, and offensive.
Just in case they read this:
Ladies… just try to make every customer feel like you made that guy feel. He left happily, bounding to his car, mondo-​smoothie in hand… and I sat in MY car, fuming, while composing a snarky Facebook status update about how I was SO gonna Unilocal about this.

TASTES AMAZING! girls arnt very friendly in federal way store, blond girl didn’t smile once or answer any of my questions. I prefer Alburn store.

How can there not be any reviews?
Back in my hayday of being somewhat of a fitness buff, I would come here to pick up some creatine, whey protein, HMB, ephedra (for getting cut, but lets just say I will never touch this stuff again), etc. Even though they have pretty good prices on their suppliments, it is the smoothies that make me come back. After a long, hard workout, or even on a nice warm day, drinking one of these makes the day perfection.
I have since lost my Greek God-​like body due to large quantities of soda, really bad food, inactivity (school), and cocaine… ok, maybe not cocaine. I am trying to get back into shape so you best believe I will be making trips here.
