I started taking my son here and I am always so pleased at the wonderful job they do. Each person takes their time and doesn’t rush. I don’t have any favorites because they all do a great job. My son doesn’t want to go anywhere else so we drive all the way from west Seattle to federal way. So pleased and everyone there is so pleasant.

Got my sons hair cut here. Very slow, unorganized. I hate to say this, but it’s the worst haircut he has ever had. I know that barbers would rather we say something, but the fact that he (the barber) let him out of the chair, blew my mind. I even said, «that’s it?» When a barber screws hair up like that, I would never want them to try and fix it, so I brought him over to another barber. The new barber thought I tried to cut his hair myself. He even said it looked like he cut one side of the hair shorter than the other. They fixed it as much as they could, but said some of it will just have to grow out now. I don’t know if the barber at J Kinlow is new, but I don’t recommend them as of now.

Literally THE WORST hair cut I have ever received in my entire life. For starters the staff was unfriendly and apparently can’t follow simple directions either. I sat down and told the barber to trim the top and do a 3 2 1 fade on the sides. I specifically said to only take about a half inch off the top and immediately after that he proceeds to take about an inch and half off. Not the end of the world but still why can’t you follow MY directions! THE CUSTOMeR! Then this joker decides to put a bald spot on the left side of my head without my permission just randomly takes the edger and shaves about a 2 inch patch from the side of my head all the way to the scalp. This looks ridiculous! And on top of all this this man jacked up my entire hairline as well so I look like an idiot!!! Both sides of my head look completely different! Save yourselves and never EVER step foot in this establishment if you value your appearance at all.

Great with fades, tapers, line ups. I don’t think my barber felt comfortable giving me a basic combover cut considering I had a lot of hair that needed to be trimmed. He even put the gel in my hand, instead of styling it for me once he was finished… If you’re looking for a quick buzz cut and fade this is the place for you.

I had my sew-​in extensions done by Naisha at JKinlow. I love my extensions! They look amazing. I bought the long 24″ hair wefts and she gave some ideas to save costs. The process was painless and the extensions stayed secure for weeks, without needing re-​tightening. There was also good amount of volume without feeling too heavy.
I highly recommend Naisha — she has a great personality and has very useful tips to share. I can be a little particular so I’m glad to have found a stylist I can stick with.

Jkinlow federal way is not just a barbershop it is a full service salon offering everything from hair extensions, relaxers, hair color andmake up artistry. They are open 7 days a week, It is best to make an appointment. Anyone from age 1 to 92 can come to the salon and feel comfortable.

They have a good number of dependable and friendly stylists and barbers. They set up of the shop is nice too. It’s a calm atmosphere. Good place to go when you’re in need of a fixer upper with your hair. :)
