Quaint old New England setting gives this bakery and sandwich shop a wonderful ambiance. The sandwiches are very good, I had the turkey on focaccia. The bread was very fresh and tasty as were the turkey and other fixings. My sandwich came with pasta salad and a small piece of cake. Everything was delicious and filling. The staff was exceptionally friendly. They make you feel at home immediately. Good food, good setting, nice people. Highly recommended.

Wow. This place has the best chocolate croissant I have ever tasted in my entire life. The chocolate was smooth and creamy and the pastry was flaky and soft at the same time… and so buttery! I wished I had bought two of these babies. Their breakfast sandwiches are also heavenly! I love that they use uncured bacon and organic eggs and still manage to sell them at a reasonable price! Everything is super customizable and you can order things the way you would like them. I love their unique assortment of artisan sodas, too! It looks really tiny when you walk in, but there is seating upstairs. The outdoor seating is also super cute for the warmer months! The staff is very friendly, inviting, and helpful! I’d be here every morning if I lived closer!

Every so often, my co-residents [friends] and I have a slightly late start to our Friday morning classes and each time we cannot wait to meet @ Truffles for breakfast. We adore their yogurt parfait [rich creamy yogurt, tasty granola, and fresh fruit: strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries], breakfast egg sandwiches, coffeecake — the list goes on and on — everything is delicious and fresh! I am also a fan of their coffee [especially the free refills]. I’ve had the Garden salad and Tuna melt on focaccia for lunch — again both v yummy! My star off is for the consistently poor attitude of the girls who work behind the counter. Truffles has A LOT of options to choose from and they always appear extremely irritated with anyone who didn’t walk through the door knowing what they wanted to order. In addition, there are rarely enough yogurt parfaits; when my friend asked if another could be made [seems simple enough: throw some yogurt, fruit, and granola in a cup], she was met with attitude and a «no.» Eventually, we figured out that this«no» really meant that they were out of granola– this was the simple explanation we would have appreciated from the start! Keep on making your delicious variety of food, Truffles, but maybe re-train your staff to have a bit more class.

I go to this place only to buy desserts or cupcakes they do a pretty good job in that area. I tried their brunch and lunch section not many panini and sandwich options for vegetarians that’s why I gave it a 3 star. Some of the girls at the register have a very little attention span tend to look somewhere after 10 secs your start ordering.

Terrible service! Time after time the employees here are rude and absolutely no help. They got mad when I took too long to decided what to get even when there was no one else there, they just wanted to keep up their conversation! They continued to be very rude and then just through my cupcakes in a bag instead of putting them in a box. Overall, the food is good but I will never go back because of the terrible employees!

I have been coming here for over a year now, and they have never let me down. Consistently good quality sandwiches, pastries, and breakfast. Their daily specials are usually very appealing, but that’s more of a personal preference. Very cool small local business with a location in Avon that is equally good. Whether it’s for breakfast or for lunch, you won’t be disappointed.

If you like boring and tasteless, go with the Chicken Philly. Lacking flavor or a signature taste that makes each sandwich stand alone. Now the Chicken panini, a perfect 10!

What can I say! Truffles is so good. I travel to this area 1 – 2 times a month, and each time I’m here we get Truffles for lunch, every day. My personal favorites — Farmington Valley Extreme Salad, or the Caesar Wrap. Another solid choice is the turkey sandwich on focaccia. Special treat: each choice comes with a potato/pasta salad and a piece of cake. Cons: the place is small, so the area you order in gets crowded quick. They have limited seating, but I’ve never had a problem getting a seat for some reason. Parking is limited — more space in the back.

I thought the food here was mediocre both times I tried it. The first time, I had a philly cheesesteak that was quite oily, with a side of bland pasta salad. I decided to try Truffles again, and had a wrap with rubbery, very processed meat that had a strange spice to it. The baked goods are better than the sandwiches, but expensive for standard cookies and brownies.

Best breakfast around!!! Lunch menu is delicious too! Been coming here routinely for close to 5 years, and although(like any mom and pop) they can get backed up when business is booming, they make up for it with the quality service and food. Highly recommended to all!

The food is always amazing. Yum! I had an egg, spinach, and goat cheese wrap. A wheat wrap. It was excellent. It was accompanied by a small blueberry muffin, also very good. The coffee was good — not life changing, but good. Service: When I walked into the main«area» which is in front of the food/service counter — it was a bit chaotic. Everyone was looking around wondering who was to order next. I wanted to sit down and talked with one of their staff about a table, she confirmed«table service». I asked«Do you have a table?» She confirmed and then said, «You’ll need to order here first.» So, I rejoined the chaos. When I ordered, the gentleman talking my counter order asked if my order was«To go or to eat in?» I said«In» and he responded with, «I’ll first need to see if we have a table.» At which point he left the counter and went upstairs to check on the availability of a table. Lucky for me there was one. I went upstairs and sat at the available table. About 5 minutes later my egg wrap was delivered. I asked about my coffee, and the wait staff responded, «Oh, you want coffee? You’ll need to go down stairs, I can get you a cup and you can get it from the coffee station.» I complied. In the end and to repeat the above comments, the food is excellent. It could be better to have a well directed staff. Regardless, I’ll return. Now I know the drill.

My office usually orders food for lunch from here, so I thought I’d check it out for myself. They were able to accommodate me for a build your own sandwich an hour before regular lunch hours, which was very nice. However, their pasta side salad«was not ready yet» even though their was a few pasta & potato sides available in the glass case window to purchase. I was also not given the $ 1 discount on my bill if you get no sides. I was not given the dessert with my sandwich either. Sandwich itself had lettuce that was a little wilty & the chipotle mayo was a small blob in the middle, so when they cut the sandwich in half, the mayo fell out and I couldn’t taste much of it on the sandwich. Overall, it was not what I expected and the sandwich was not worthy of the $ 9+ bill.

The best freshest food in the area! But the Sunday morning crowd is poorly controlled with no clear queue. This promotes cranky and pushy crowds inside the very small bakery. We were so upset that we left and went to the Simsbury Truffles which is much larger and more sane. Same great food. The staff is trying very hard to be cheerful and quick, but overall this was an unpleasant experience.

So my three is a really solid three. This place is simply A-ok. It’s a relatively cute place, but for what it’s going for it could be better. It’s essentially a café/bakery that offers breakfast, sandwiches, and pastries. For drink choices there’s a cooler with a nice selection including Harney & Sons Fine Teas. I ordered their tuna melt which originally came on focaccia bread however I subbed it out for rye instead. It was a beautiful day so my friend and I sat outside. Their outside seating is in the front, near the road, but far enough away that it’s quiet and relaxing. When the food came it was ok. There could have been more tuna on my sandwich and the oil on the bread was a little too greasy for me. It came with a side of macaroni salad and a little piece of cake(which I originally thought was a cute idea). The macaroni salad was pretty tasteless and the cake was solid, but nothing special. I wish that it had come with a side salad instead of the cake and macaroni. Overall my friend and I had a fun time for under $ 12 each. If I was in a pinch or in the area again I might stop by, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for Truffles.

When you’re tired of the bagel joints, check out truffles for some descent breakfast sandwiches and good coffee in a cozy atmosphere that closely resembles your grandmothers house. I’ve gotten a few different wraps and sandwiches from here and have always been happy with the exception of my eggs being a tiny bit on the brown side a few times.

I have been coming to Truffles for many years and have really enjoyed their food. I am so glad they have expanded. My one issue is customer service. Just a few unpleasant customer service people can make the experience so uncomfortable. The others are all so pleasant. Sue C.

I stop by Truffles Bakery every time I have to visit my friend in Burlington. Her kids love the cake pops from here and I always buy extra pastries for home. I have never stopped by here for anything other than pastries and I am a fan. Their Peanut Butter bars are my favorite and i also like the oatmeal Raspberry tarts. Overall, I like this place and they have good choices of pastries.

Cute little bakery café. They have the breakfast wraps. Which I love for breakfast! It’s like a lunch time sandwich with the protein needed for breakfast. I went with the steak egg and cheese. It was so good — and so cheesy. My only wish was that it came with a side– like some potatoes or a fruit salad. They have some space upstairs to sit, so do not be intimated by the small counter. There are plenty of tables out back! PS– Chocolate chip cookies to go was a good call by us.
